- Welcome back to another weekly vlog! In this video I go over major day job updates (I have about a thousand side hustles now, haha) novel writing updates, auditions, and went through a bit of a rough patch mid-week. Hope this video gives you some perspective of what it is truly like being an actor living and hustling in NYC!

Dear Mel, I follow you now since probably three years and I wanted to share with you my gratitude for your vlogs.
I started studying musical theatre in Munich back then (I´m from Germany) and you inspire me every time I watch your videos to really appreciate the work I am doing but also seeing the tough sides of the job we do. I mean Germany is not really known for musical theatre and so the job possibilities are more generous, especially for us who are already studying it at a state-funded university. But still...in february I will start auditioning for real and it scares me a lot! You´re good vibes but also your honesty concerning your feelings about not getting a callback or struggeling through auditions helps me and I wanted to thank you for that!
I wish you all the best and good luck for everything in your life! I believe in you and your art!
Ahh this was amazing to read. I am SO glad my videos have been helpful, this is exactly why I make them. I am wishing you all the best as well.
I live for your blogs! Thanks for sharing 🙌🏽❤️
Omgggg just discovered you!!!! Will be binging your videos 💕
I haven't had any fun lately, 😭 so it was fun. You bring me joy!❤🙂I love the kind and generous heartwarming atmosphere that you create, your kind, easygoing, warm vibe. ❤I like the essence how you live on. I need to be true to myself and find a job I am passionate about. I want to find a way to live as who I really am.
First off, I wanted to thank you for your channel! I'm an Equity actor and rarely get to see vlogs that I identify with so much! It's nice to feel less alone! Secondly, I totally agree with your thoughts on holding the energy of an audition to your chest until a decision is made. There is something about it that feels like holding it close makes for a stronger resonance with the universe, and in turn a better chance of it coming to fruition. I'm also a believer that "what's yours is yours" (which I realize is contradictory...but whatever...lol). Anyway, thanks again! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so so much. I feel like I have to be super transparent or I would rather not post at all, haha. I'm really glad that don't feel as alone
Hang in there, kiddo. You've already achieved more than most aspiring performers ever achieve - and even bigger things are on the way for you. I can feel it!
thank you!!!!!
Something I think is SUPER beneficial when teaching young kids with a wider age range is teaching progressions and which kid is ready to level up and which are still slow and steady learning basic techniques
24:30 You are so mentally strong! I really admire your honesty in sharing tough times and ability to keep moving forward. I can’t wait to read your book!
Thank you!!!
I can totally relate to this vlog!! I've been reminding myself lately that I made this decision, and that I am choosing this life as a performer too!! Hang in there girl my fav quote is, "What is meant for you, won't go by you"
Paige, I just checked out some of your videos and you are a fantastic talent, too.
@@blabbinglobster Thank you so much !!
A Chorus Line is my ALL TIME favorite show and in my next life(I am 56) I vow to be Val(lol) on stage. So you wear that shirt with PRIDE girl...I have A Chorus Line hoodie, but I can't ever make the claim that I have been in the show....but YOU can. Keep on keeping on......:)
Awwww! It really is the most amazing show, isn't it?!
Am guessing you may know about the no-knead overnight bread thing? It takes very little time and is really easy. I've only tried the regular bread version and that one is truly yummy. I just throw the 4 ingredients together in a bowl at night, let the overnight proofing do its thing and bake it the next day. I checked for a gluten-free version and saw one at The Sassy Dietitian website. Although I haven't tried it, it looks really good. I'm guessing it tastes better and is cheaper?
Keep on auditioning...even the greats went through it..they kept going.. James Dean, John Travolta, Al Pacino...all ran around New York Auditioning and performing
