I thought this game looked familiar in a way and you just explained it’s connected to Wild Fang aka Tecmo Knight. The animation style is a give away. When you talk about arcades you always provide me with nostalgia! lol I had a secret arcade at secondary school that was hidden at the back of a kebab shop. Always had good games too. I remember Outrun, Shinobi, Vigilante and R-Type were some of the cabs. One day we’ll meet up!
Could complete this on a single credit back in the day at Farmer John’’s Burger Bar in Christchurch, New Zealand. Sadly it is now a used clothing store.
I remember playing this game on the Atari Lynx II and thinking it was “an arcade perfect port” lol it wasn’t even close in hindsight, but it was a fun port for the time, and so was Rygar!
I'm nostalgic for arcade Ninja Gaiden too. I was aware it wasn't particularly loved back in the day but something about its graphical style mesmerised me. It'll be fun playing it again. Fingers triple crossed for Wolf Fang too. There's a lot of blood and exploding torsos in that game.
Tehkan World Cup still locked out as a beta after running update_all it seems. We had Shadow Warriors elsewhere in London growing up but it was known as Ninja Gaiden in my chippy 🙂
@PixelCherryNinja nah that doesn't grab the file that's just the protection i think. no worries i updated my mister around lunch time and it didn't pull the file down yet i will try again!
Like many games of that era, this was a guzzler. You really have to spam that neck throw. It's also worth checking out 1CC's of games like this. There's always someone that can beat these games.
Used to play the Lynx version all the time as a kid.
@@r9delta104 love the Lynx version too.
There is a very good version of Ninja Gaiden on the Atari LYNX
Absolutely. I played it in my cousin's Lynx first. I had to convince him to buy it, as he wasn't an arcade guy.
”He came for arcade”! Great story, thanks for sharing! BRB, just going to put in an order for t-shirt prints :-)
That'll make a great T-shirt 👕

@@trzarector I look forward to the day.
I was just thinking about this title the other day wondering why it hadn't hit the FPGA scene yet and bam!
Please start thinking hard about CPS3 😀
This is realy great. Play it on the Pocket. Many thanks to jotego.
I still need to add it to my Pocket. I'll do it tomorrow now.
Was about damn time this game made it! I am stoked!
Now to look for a joystick with a button on top ... thanks for the update!
For custom Arcade sticks, check out my buddy Pixel Memories.
He made me this stick

I used to love watching the attact mode. So much detail everywhere compared to other beat em ups
It has a great intro, one of the best. Blown away as a kid and adult alike.
I loved this in the arcade. One of the best games of the 80's in my opinion
@@spitfireraf1003 definitely, I was instantly attracted to this game.
Guess im going to be a jotego patron now!

@@LegendaryWizball88 the good old days. Well done on the 1CC 😀
@ Thanks! I played it daily for a few weeks to get that one credit clear.
@@LegendaryWizball88 I haven't watched a 1CC, but I imagine the neck toss was one of the keys.

Love the arcade stories
@@arcade1upuk767 thanks, arcades were such a special place growing up in the 80s and 90s. It brings me a lot of nostalgia.

Cool game to get. I had this on the Atari st the continue screen used to scare me as a kid lol

Check that your version is 9fae0e3. The OSD should be gray, not yellow. It has been out since 31st Dec.

I thought ninja g was a Konami property
It's always been Tecmo as far as I know. I used to think the GB version was Konami, but that's Tecmo too.
The only thing I dont like about this game is its literally a coin muncher. Like unfairly at times.
