Not too long ago I was a beginner in board games stuff. I wasn't even aware that solo games exist until not long ago. But then I bumped into your Star Wars The Clone Wars from Pandemic video, and slowly started to crave for more and more. The way you organise the guides is trully magnificent. You easely explain all the rules, making everything clear while also enthusiastically "dragging" the viewer in the right mood for the game you explain the rules for. Your tutorials are just too well balanced when it comes to information and entertainment, never too dismissive about the rules, but at the same time never boring So far, you teached me how to play many games, and because of you my passion for board games (especially solo ones) ignited. Your videos are the ultimate way of learning how to play, easy and enjoyable, something you can't find very often in other tutorials. So here I am today, learning how play Final Girl, realising how many times your videos helped me and wishing to let you know how amazing your work is. This was great! Just picked up the core box and camp happy trails and this was the best introduction I could have asked for! It's not a simple game, but I've been looking for a good single-player game forever and think I've finally found it.

I can't wait for this game. I'm not typically a horror game player, but this one just has something about it. Very creative, and I love the different Themed versions you can buy to play with the core game. I love that Paula has her own card, so along with my kickstarter backing, I added that card! Something tells me Paula will shred the opposition!

Loved the soft, chill music at the beginning whilst describing a game about surviving a killer haha. Excellent game I've played and cannot wait to play more :) If people get a chance to get the playmat or minis it makes the game even more special. Awesome explanation of the rules :)
Thanks for making this video. I'm a kickstarter backer, and this has me hyped to play. Something that stood out to me was the box construction. It seems like one wrong nudge might cause the magnetic lids to break open, and the choice to make the playing board double as the outer box cover seems like it might cause undue damage to said board if not stored very carefully. Normal box wear and tear *usually* isn't an issue for the inside contents, but now we have a new problem.
I'm rewatching this in preparation for my five-in-one Final Girl playthrough. 😄 The Poltergeist, Hans, Geppetto, the Ratchet Lady and the Evomorph all in one day. Lucky for me, I have Rodney here to help me with the rules to beat them all. 🎉

That's my understanding, but I tend to avoid individual card effects, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!

Hi Rodney. Just have to say many thanks' for this video. I did watch it before I ordered the game and you are explaining it so well that even I can make it. Came back to it a few times for clarifications. Just so you know. Played it 8 times now and I almost made it once. So no victory yet. But I having a lot of fun. Got the hole season 1. Have only played Camp happy Trails. 1 with Reiko as you made an example of here, and 7 times as Laurie. I thought it was easier. I guess the dice aren't on my side. Not the card either. But have I made it every time it would be in the bin quite fast. So great game and looking forward to season 2. All the best from Norway.
Greetings back from Canada! Yes, the game can be very difficult :) Like you, I tend to prefer it that that way (otherwise I would have a hard time motivating myself to play), and I also like that win or lose, I can imagine a story playing out on the table.

Stumbled across your channel and now I’m inspired to try so many board games. I’m new to the hobby other than monopoly and other standard games. I love the look of red rising and wingspan so far. Can anyone recommend any other great games that are similar to these ?

What I like, someone else might not - but hopefully you see a few games on here that might be what you are looking for! This video was so helpful, but I also realized about a quarter of the way through how much funnier this video is if he's the killer trying to explain to you, the victim, how to win this boardgame to save your own life. Enthusiastic and encouraging and polite, and also waiting oh so patiently to see if he gets to kill you. 10/10, giggling to myself to the whole vid.

Even as big of a horror fan as I am, I always seemed to just bypass this game whenever it popped up. Until your how it's played video showed up *which was awesome as always* this seems to structure alot around the hostage negotiator setup. Just with beefed up rules. I like that the game doesn't rely solely on dice rolls like hostage does. I might have to check this out if I ever see it physically.

I know it’s a bit of a late message but I hope you can clarify my last doubt after watching your video…if at the end of the Action phase I still have some action cards in my hand, do I have to discard them and then buy what I can with the remaining time, or I can keep them for my next Action phase? Because if the second case is true, then I added another layer of difficulty to my game without knowing 😂😂
Hi Zack, traveling right now, so not easy for me to look up the answer, but I am confident the video is clear about what happens to your cards at the end of a round, so check that section and you should be good to go.
If a killer heals because of a certain effect, and they have a minor dark power which has at least one empty heart space AND at least one heart on it, do the hearts for the healing go on the minor dark power or on the board as usual?

Came back to it a few times for clarifications. Just so you know. Played it 8 times now and I almost made it once. So no victory yet. But I having a lot of fun. Got the hole season 1. Have only played Camp happy Trails. 1 with Reiko as you made an example of here, and 7 times as Laurie. I thought it was easier. I guess the dice aren't on my side. Not the card either. But have I made it every time it would be in the bin quite fast. So great game and looking forward to season 2. All the best from Norway.
Greetings back from Canada! Yes, the game can be very difficult :) Like you, I tend to prefer it that that way (otherwise I would have a hard time motivating myself to play), and I also like that win or lose, I can imagine a story playing out on the table.

Stumbled across your channel and now I’m inspired to try so many board games. I’m new to the hobby other than monopoly and other standard games. I love the look of red rising and wingspan so far. Can anyone recommend any other great games that are similar to these ?
Welcome to the channel and the hobby Leo! I tend to avoid giving personalized recommendations. What I like, someone else might not - but hopefully you see a few games on here that might be what you are looking for! And maybe some other viewers might have some suggestions (I'll share one little suggestion, if you like what you're seeing here with Final Girl, maybe check out mansions of Madness 2nd edition, also on this channel).

This video was so helpful, but I also realized about a quarter of the way through how much funnier this video is if he's the killer trying to explain to you, the victim, how to win this boardgame to save your own life. Enthusiastic and encouraging and polite, and also waiting oh so patiently to see if he gets to kill you. 10/10, giggling to myself to the whole vid.

Even as big of a horror fan as I am, I always seemed to just bypass this game whenever it popped up. Until your how it's played video showed up *which was awesome as always* this seems to structure alot around the hostage negotiator setup. Just with beefed up rules. I like that the game doesn't rely solely on dice rolls like hostage does. I might have to check this out if I ever see it physically.

Hey! I know it’s a bit of a late message but I hope you can clarify my last doubt after watching your video…if at the end of the Action phase I still have some action cards in my hand, do I have to discard them and then buy what I can with the remaining time, or I can keep them for my next Action phase? Because if the second case is true, then I added another layer of difficulty to my game without knowing 😂😂
Hi Zack, traveling right now, so not easy for me to look up the answer, but I am confident the video is clear about what happens to your cards at the end of a round, so check that section and you should be good to go.
If a killer heals because of a certain effect, and they have a minor dark power which has at least one empty heart space AND at least one heart on it, do the hearts for the healing go on the minor dark power or on the board as usual?
It would go on the Minor Dark Power. Hope that helps!
