I was an MA for a while and really liked it. The only thing to consider is that if you want to continue your education, the hours can make it difficult to go to school. Most offices are going to run from 8-5 monday through friday, and at least where I live I couldnt really fit any school with it. It can be great as a career though.

Medical Assistant is a certification that use to be 6 months not 1 year. For 1 year you can complete the LPN program even if cost a little more. It's worth it because it is the fundamental of skill nursing.

Everywhere in California they want to charge a person 10-12k for the MA program (or any fast or similar position careers) while the job only pays 10-12 an hour!
I don’t get why they pay MA basically minimum wage when you have to get a 8-12 months of training to get the job? Basically a ripoff!

I’m just passionate about the health care field. And I’m definitely not stopping there I’m going to keep to pursue my nursing career. Best advice I can give you is don’t give up no matter what obstacles you face. Life is never easy in general, just always believe in yourself, be confident, be you and strive to do your best in school, and love what you do. And always remember that everything you do will be worth it at the end. As far as studying tips , I highly recommend studying at least a week before , practice your medical terminology on flash cards so it can be easier to memorize. Find a good place to study and take really good notes in lecture so you can go back and erred them. Also what helped me is I color coded every thing in my notebook I had 3 different highlighters , 3 different pens, sticky notes, and a planner to organize myself with everything. My bad i wrote so much😭 good luck with everything you got this ✨

A lot of my former classmates tell stories of them not being paid their overtime hours, being paid shitty, their doctors touching them, the doctors themselves working while suspending or without a license (by using another doctors papers), toxic coworkers, clinics firing them prior to their 90 day and hiring someone else, clinics violating/ knowingly neglecting OSHA regulations, them having to do unpaid work, massive workload though they are not experienced enough to do it, they have begun crumbling under stress, they’ve become sad and a shadow of their former self.
I studied my ass off to be there in the blood, guts, and glory and instead was given a computer. The pandemic took away the school’s ability to actually teach us. We felt like we were ripped off, many of the students after me entered the field never training with a needle. Online classes don’t do it for the medical field, this is a hands on type of thing to learn. I went into my externship not knowing a thing about EHR, we didn’t have access to the simulation EHR since there was no on campus schooling.
Take this with a grain of salt. Maybe your experience will be better, or worse.

Hii, I start my clinical medical assistant program very soon and I just wanted to know what’s the good way to study effectively to remember everything you need to know, and also what can I expect with the clinical medical assistant program I’m so nervous but I’ll try my best🙂😊

Hiii !!! 1st off congrats on your new journey of becoming an MA😊!! I recommend making flash cards when studying medical terminology make sure you take good notes and bring highlighters. I would go to the library and study and it would help me focus so much. Be ready to learn lots of medical terminology, and lots of hands on experience. My favorite part was always the hands on experience I was so nervous at 1st learning how to give injections/ draw blood ect.... but once you get the hand of it your going to enjoy it 😊!!
