I live in Missouri and if you live in this state it’s very easy to become a medical assistant. You don’t need schooling or anything you can simply to go BJC MERCY or SSM and get a job. I am a CMA and to be honest I don’t encourage being a medical assistant if you want to be a nurse you need to be in the hospital. You are going to see way more in the hospital than in a clinic. Also medical assistants aren’t paid well in my opinion you can make more as a PCT as they have access to shift differentials and ovetime.
Currently saving for CMA classes along with Medical Interpreter (I'm already Bilingual). I've also worked 10+ years as a receptionist at a Pedi Uro office and Hospital MedRecs Dept. I'm hoping all my skills will help me get a job as a Pedi CMA with Interpretation and EMR knowledge next year after getting my certifications.
As of June 2023, Hispanics make up 40.2% of Texas' population, while non-Hispanic whites make up 39.8%. This means that Hispanics have been the largest population group in Texas since at least July 2022, though the switch likely happened in late 2021.
I’m not positive about the track to take if you are not a resident! I would definitely look into adult schools in the area and call to inquire on the possibilities!
Thank you for your comment! The market is hard, especially for new graduates! What state do you live in? You can email me your resume if you’d like so I can just peak and it and help you apply!
My unitek college was around 16K for the tuition! Definitely not worth it and I would recommend going to an adult school if you have one near you! Our adult school’s tuition was around 2K!

I tell everyone to start in Family/Internal Medicine since it’s more Broad.
