I just got an scholarship and given some programs to choose and this is one of them. What would you say is the ratio between males and females? Im already a certified medical interpreter so I know my bilingual skills would be an asset to any medical team.

Well I mean a medical assistant shouldn’t be that bad since you’re not wheeling a fat person to get in out of commode or shower…but a physician micromanaging me may influence me to add them to my hitlist. I think medical assistant might be tough, but I don’t think it’s worse than caregiving. My MA program is not accredited, but I can live with that.
Hey there! We have a Spanish based program if that helps! Otherwise, I would choose an English program that is self-paced so you can go at your pace or replay a lesson if you didn't fully understand :)
It's a great question and plan...very smart to begin as an MA so you're working in the field. Many hospitals will even pay for your LPN/LVN training as long as you're employed as an MA. Huge potential bonus! So I recommend getting into the field and MA is perfect for that
Can someone get hired as a medical assistant without externship experience? I was a medic in the military a decade ago and if possible I’d like to skip that
Yes you can get hired as an MA without the externship, but most hospitals prefer MA's that have that experience whether it be the externship or you working as an MA somewhere else. You did mention that you were a medic so that might help you out but in my experience it is harder to find a job without that externship experience.
We need more males in healthcare, from what I understand Doctors just won’t hire young men. Young men are discouraged out of medical assistance and nursing mainly because there must be chaperones for female patients if there’s a male in the room.
