In this Affinity Photo tutorial you will learn how to create the glitch effect. The best thing about this photo manipulation effect is that it can be applied to literally ANY photo and is super easy to create!
To create this glitch photo effect we will be using channels in combination with filters. If you follow along, feel free to share your glitch photos in my FB group (link below)!
We start off by separating the colors using channels to create the chromatic glitch. Then we move some pixel blocks sideways to enhance the effect. And finally we will take it a step further by adding a halftone filter to create the VHS lines.

@@IAMRENSI Cosine is a word used in Mathematics namely, Geometry and Trigonometry
6:37 If anyone is having trouble getting all the channels to move, make sure that in your Channels panel, all the switch icons are Editable for each channel (they are next to the Eye for each channel). I was playing with those settings and accidentally turned them off.

For some reason I can not find "channels" in the view>studio option. Its not there. Help?

6:08 Do you know how to do this on Windows? I noticed that for me holding Alt creates a minus sign, but Ctrl doesn't make a plus sign. Is there a keybind in Affinity I need to add in settings to pull this off?

Is there any way to make the scanlines without actually using the original picture? Like, I'm trying to reproduce the effect of the Halftone in Photoshop and I only need a fully white layer to achieve the scanlines and this doesn't change the overall colour of the rest of the piece because it's a solid colour. I'm trying to apply the Halftone to white layers and even black layers but the scanlines doesn't appear in Affinity Photo 🤔
I think you get the desired result when you create a grey fill layer, and then a Halftone Live Filter (screen: Line)! Hope this helps :)
