    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It applies to ANY material that you are able to glue regular paper to, and when dried, you can't peel off. So my paper allows you to be able to peel off easily leaving behind the image.

    Well, after my mod podge transfer fiascos before Thanksgiving, that ruined 2 of my possible Christmas craft show sellables - I'm about to switch to gel medium. Can't believe I never heard of that.
    Hopefully it works, and I won't be nervous, or reluctant to print words, and things backwards, anymore. Was about to just transfer via mod podge with the items printed regularly& just press onto the mod podge as is.

    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And we're talking about the RixCanDoIt transfer paper w/ Gel Medium. Works with Mod Podge also, although being a wetter glue it is best to first protect the image with a light dusting of clear coat first.

    Received the quick transfer paper yesterday, reading the instructions that came with the paper. It’s recommended that be sure to dry completely. The video shows you wait one minute then start peeling the paper off which is correct

    • @RixCanDoit

      You need to dry it completely. I'm an expert. Once you become expert in using the paper, you'll be able to do a wet transfer in less than a minute for some applications.

    Don't forget to reverse-print the image before printing to wood, if the left-right orientation of the layout is important.

    Nice! Does the colors show white or is the white going to turn into brown because of the wood color?

    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If your printer does not print white but uses the paper's color instead for white (which the majority do), then you're not going to be transferring white because there is no white to transfer. The color of whatever it is you are transferring to is going to show where the 'white' would be. If you want white to show, you can paint your item white first. :)

      No. You handle it like any other sheet of printer paper. Just print on the correct side. Once printed, it acts like any other kind of printout. It won't smear if you touch it. You can stack it and save it for transfer later.

    Do you have any tips that would help me succeed in transferring a photo on a cleaned gourd? They are never perfectly flat and to get it really light and clean I need to sand beneath the skin of the gourd . That will make the wood there very soft and porous. Wondering if it's possible to get a good result with these problems... Hope so I ordered the paper and I'm determined to try. ;o)

    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Considering I've never transferred to a gourd before I really cannot say. If I had a gourd I'd do some experimenting. What I know is that for surfaces that are questionable, there are under-coatings that can be applied to provide an acceptable surface. For example, one of my videos shows transferring onto a rough shiny surface by first putting down a layer of tacky glue (with white paint mixed in it so the white of the image would show through). Perhaps something like that would help with a gourd?

    Do you have to use a laser printer? Will Inkjet work?

    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Inkjets do not provide as good a transfer as Laser, and will also cause the paper to 'stick' requiring extra effort to wet and carefully scrap off. I would not recommend it, but it does work to a less degree than Laser. With the Laser, you get a deeper color and easy peel off. So I do not recommend Inkjets although some choose to anyway.

    • @RixCanDoit
      @RixCanDoit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends.
      If you are referring to the Quick Transfer Paper demonstrated in this video, follow the instructions such as those found in the multiple videos at the webpage where you purchased and the letter you received inviting you to email me directly if you need any assistance.
      As far as suggestions using a method or other type of paper, I would not be the best person to answer that but rather the person who made the video you learned the method from. You may want to ask under those videos. Using the Quick Transfer Paper does not pull the image off unless there was no glue/gel there to begin with. Anywhere you lay down the gel medium (glue), once dried, will hold the image. Then with the Quick Transfer Paper you simply moisten it, dab off excess, and peel it off like butter! 🙂

      Sort of. If you use inkjet, it will likely cause the paper to stick and you also won't get the deep rich color the Laser printer provides. Use a Laser printer for excellent color transfer and peel off like butter effect.
