First I must compliment you recycling and repurposing. You have given me so many easy idea’s and formats . I just started a new project. My aunt/godmother had kept handkerchiefs, doilies and table runners that were my maternal grandmother’s . I am cutting them up and using my aunt’s picture frames that she insisted that I take when they were selling the family homestead. Using mod podge I am able to gift all 8 of her grandchildren with something that was hers and repurpose the frames. Thank you for the making all your videos so easy to follow 💕
Very interesting comparison of techniques. Thanks for sharing. When I bought some of your labels in autumn last year, I tried out some techniques, but only on sanded wood and on wood painted with some undefined paint (meant to be a toning paint for in latex or acrylic wall paint) I wasn't satisfied with the results. Rubbing of the paper needs a lot of practice it seems at the mod podge or acrylic method. That time I didn't have the right ingredients to make my own chalk paint. Now I have. So I should give it another try. I don't have much free time these days. I noticed that you already have more than 50K subscribers. My congratulations. 100K till the end of summer? You deserve them for sure.
I'm still working through your older videos. However, I found this one very informative. I even bought an inexpensive laser jet to do transfers and several of your printouts from Etsy. Very pleased with the mod podge paper transfers! 🤗😍😃
I spent several years as a Laser printer repair person and would advise not using label or wax paper in your printer. Note that a Laser printer reaches temps well above that of the melting point of the wax or label paper coating. Sure you may get away with it as it does not spend too much time under the heat element. However, you could end up with accumulation issues and/or if a jam occurs the paper will sit under the hot element long enough to become an issue. Not worth it if you value your printer. There is a laser printer transfer paper out there on YT.
So do you think the shiny paper left from like cricut vinyl is same thing??? Bc dollar tree sells permanent vinyl I think what 12inx48in?!? and the paper is so shiny behind the vinyl.
Thank you for all the information! I have been trying to find a printer so, I can create some signs. I didn't know if you could tell me what printer you have. 🤔 I always enjoy your flips!
Hi, great content!! I plan on using the reversed text w/mod podge but, I plan on staining my piece of wood. Would you recommend staining the wood first? or after transferring the image on the wood? Thanks in advance.
Thanks. I greatly appreciate your videos. Quick question. Have you tried printing directly on parchment paper? And using an old iron with no holes? The holes in the iron very the heat distribution a little bit.
I have not had good success with parchment paper. The only iron I have has holes and I don't use this technique enough to warrant buying a better iron. Thanks for watching :)
I have an idea for making a 4 inch wood disc for an event I'm hosting and I was thinking this is a great why to print on the wood. Question - Do you have to paint the wood first? Can you use the Mod Podge on the finished project to seal the wood?
Hello. I love your videos, you do such a great job. I have a question. I tried the reverse transfer method on an old stool that I chalk painted teal. I left the transfer overnight and removed it the next morning. The paper cam.off easily however the glue still shows, mostly and outline of the page. What have I done wrong? Thank you.
It can be tricky doing it on colored paint as Mod Podge doesn't completely dry transparent. If you are seeing lots you probably put on too much mod podge. You just need a very light coat. You can also go back over the outline with the blue color to blend more. Hope that helps
I have tried a few but it seems like I always have paper left on, you can still see the paper even after I seal it. If I go too hard the graphic comes off.. What am I doing wrong?
Are you using an inkjet or laser jet if you’re using an inkjet it can be a little bit tricky just work in small sections using a little bit of water not very much this video will help you out th-cam.com/video/bGaioUJg-nc/w-d-xo.html
I watched a lot of your transfer and reverse graphics. I haven’t seen a video on how you measure the wood and graphics. Do you have one I’m not seeing? If not can you make one. Thank you. Love your videos
Hello tried the transfer method with mod podge. It worked great. Except some of my letters and roses rubbed off. What can I do to prevent this next time?
This technique is never perfect and there’s always going to be a little bit centre going to rub off. It’s also gonna make a difference if you’re using an inkjet printer as it doesn’t work as well.
Well, I have yet to get this to work 9:46. I think I may have to let that paper soak a bit more. I'm new to transfers, so we'll see ;) I might be a bit too aggressive in pressure. I'm going to let a wet sponge sit on top of it for 15 minutes to see if I can get that paper to easily come off.
I have watched many of the videos of you decoupaging and I felt like it should be fairly simple, however, I can't master it or even come close. Please help! Lol I'm using a bare piece of wood from the craft store to make a sign. I have lightly sanded, wiped and then painted with chalk paint. I put a light coat of the mod podge on the paper then transferred it to the board. I let it sit over night and then tried to take it off the way I see you do it but the words come with it. Any suggestions? Also the mod podge is probably a few years old. Does that matter? It looks fine so I used it. Thanks for any help 😀

Do you have any techniques to transfer to tiles, like ceramic ones?
By far. You are my favorite mod podge crafter. Very detailed and descriptive. Extremely helpful! ❤
Glad you are enjoying

I find it works best with a painted surface and then you can feel it up with a polly sealer
Hi, I'm buying some t shirt transfers from Ali express because I don't have access to a computer, can these transfers be ironed on other surfaces.
Can you tell me some good laser printers that will work for this. (I’d like a color one, to be able to do color prints too.)

Could you use freezer paper instead of the label paper?
It might work but I find it isn't shiny enough and usually doesn't work that well. Thanks for watching Bonnie
You are very creative!!!!! Are you using regular print paper or special paper?
Regular paper

If you wet too much the graphic will lift off only wet till you see graphics and work in small sections

Are you using a ink jet or laser jet?
@@OurUpcycledLife it's an hp ink jet
Some ink jets can be very tricky! Do in small sections and don’t soak just dampen the paper .
@@OurUpcycledLife I have another one to try today so I'll give it another go. Thank you!
You can put mod podge on wood let dry put paper copy quote down and iron
Sure can
I’m curious would wax paper work the same as the CD label technique ?
No i find it doesn't! Thanks for watching
@@OurUpcycledLife you’re welcome and thank you so much for answering

thanks for watching Nanette!
would the iron method work on fabric?
Yes it would but it is not washable thanks for watching
What if we don’t have the satin??
Can I use my easy press iron for the iron on method?
Yep you sure can! Thanks for watching Kimberly
@@OurUpcycledLife thanks 😊
Maybe the iron on would work better if the parchment paper wasn't doubled.
How much mod podge residue is left surrounding your transfer?
You shouldn’t have very much you don’t need to put a whole lot on if you put too much, you will see the outline of it
Does it have to be on chalk paint?
I find using chalk paint gives you the best transfer
What paper you use for your graphic signs?
Just regular computer paper !
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you for the response. I can work on my husband's empty whiskey bottles and cigar boxes😊 thank you for the ideas
Hi I have tired many times without success😢 I glue down & leave 24 hours. When remove the paper with damp cloth it goes cloudy and can't see image
Are you using a ink jet?
Can you use wax paper?
It doesn’t work as well
A little misleading, was expecting it to be on unpainted wood not a piece of wood painted white like the color of paper.
What laser printer do you use?
This is mine! amzn.to/3bg5Xac
can you transfer with a iron
Yes you can
Thank you for answering me
