    As a Christian with parents who are pastors, I know a lot of big church organizations and I can tell you first hand that a lot of them either care only about money or using the church for political purposes.

    What many people don't understand about Roe v. Wade is that the ruling was over whether women had the right to privacy when it comes to medical procedures or not. Privacy was the main point of the debate. Those who don't believe in privacy were on one side and those who believed in privacy were on the other. Therefore when extrapolated, Pro-life is actually anti-privacy rights. Pro-choice ends up being people who are for women's rights to privacy when it comes to their vaginas. Republicans want to violate the privacy of women's vaginas. Those sick perverts!

    The show's delivery of its POV is like a bullet through the brain. It is direct and perfectly crafted. Even if I wasn't sympathetic to those views already, I'd have to give the show credit for its powerful style. Kudos to you and your team, Ms B. And giving us the full Schaeffer interview is the icing.

      Sale M you are exactly correct, we can do whatever we want. And if having to dumb down oneself so that some weak man can feel strong, then who needs him anyway. Strong woman need a strong partner, not someone who has to be coddled like a child.

      Listen cutey the strong alfa males dont want the so caled alfa experiensed women they want the traditional women, by going down that rode youll end up with a beta male or alone(women think things work how they imagine im a man i know how men think the strong woman so called wants a strong man all women want strong men, but the so called strong women are more emotional and irational and men that have some brain dont want those kind of women), good luck, alfa and alfa dont mix.Women think big of them self, women belive that men are suposed to spend money on them just because women are keeping them company, (acting like children) If women didnt need to be treated like children they would actualy be equal,(women didnt earn there right they were given and still dont deserve them, women will wote for criminal Hilary just because shs a woman O.o) a feminist said it her self a real feminist, men are supirior to women.If humankind was led by women we would be still living in caves.

      Sale M well I see you have a lot to say about this issue. Not a lot of substantial things but a lot to say. It is your opinion what a man wants. You can tell me what you want, not what all men want. You don't speak for all men, and I am glad of that. You also went out on a limb to tell me about strong women. So you are an expert on men and women? Not sure how you can explain that one, but in any case you are incorrect again. You don't speak for all women. One thing I can tell you, sweetie, you may want to stop speaking in such general terms. I am not emotional or irrational, nor any of the bright, articulate, accomplished women I know. As far as men being attracted to this type of woman, no problems there either. Now it seems like you have reveal some things about yourself based on what you said, " women believe that men are supposed to spend money on them just because women are keep them company " These are the type of women you happen to be dealing with, and they are in no way a feminist. Feminist are always prepared to pay there own way. And prior to this statement you were right up to the line, but this one put you completely over it, " women didn't earn their right they were given and still don't deserve them". " men are superior to women" " if mankind were led by women we would still be living in caves"
      I quoted you up to a point, I corrected the spelling and grammatical errors. Ok those quotes tell me that you may just have a issue with women in general. It isn't that men are superior, it's that you think you are superior to women. WOW, I bet you are a fun date. SMH. It is 2016, relationships don't require a tug of war, or a title for power. They can be equal, heck they should be equal. Women have done nothing but fight for their rights in every way to be equal. Nothing was given without hard work and there is still bias. I am not sure about your household as a child, but you should go back and think about all your mother had on her plate back then and how she handled it and tell me you still think women couldn't lead.

    • @salem9686
      @salem9686 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i dont know how all men think, yeah and you dont know that all or 99% of women crave bad boys, a man doesent know men well enought as a woman, yeah i have never been penetrated or dominated, women want that not equality.Women are not born to lead as men are not born to give burth to children.It has been proven by science.

      You are correct about FoxNews. They are doing Opinion of News as News broadcasts instead of Reporting Facts about News as News broadcasts. It's too bad that it's viewers don't understand the difference....and it is a shame that the other 24-hour cable newscasts are also doing news shows where the topic is "the opinion of news stories as news".
      Serious News viewers are going to have to start READING again.....Newspapers still hire actual news reporters and news investigators as news writers.

    My philosophy, you can be against abortion as long as you are willing to fork over the tax dollars to help pay for all those extra kids. Just remember that 40% of all US births are payed by Medicaid and the old line about welfare queens doesn't apply to pregnancies that would have been terminated if not for the government.

    Actually, Abortion is found in the bible, but it is only if the men want to do it to women. As per usual with the bible, women don't get a say.
    "And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people." Numbers 5:27
    So Abortion is legal according to the bible, as long as it is against the will of the woman it is being performed on. Anyone who thinks the bible is good, is sick in the head.

Its ok to wear makeup and wear clothes of mixed fabric eat shrimp etc but when it comes to something god (aka the MEN who wrote the bible not god) didn't specifically state you put words in their mouth. If YOU dont want to have an abortion then fine dont get one but dont tell others they have to conform to your view for your religious reasons... You dont get to tell people how to live their own lives or who they can and cant love. You people to take Christians ( some not all) seriously ??? Then stop being hateful bigoted hypocrites

  • @pdoylemi
    @pdoylemi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    This is a perfect illustration of why I am not just atheist, but anti-theist. While any people can be swayed by propaganda, there is no group more easily swayed, or more vehement once swayed that the devout. When the propaganda is delivered by the authorities they trust to teach them about GOD, the people they consider to reliable moral guides it is very effective. Look at this - in just a few short years, they got a group that was fairly apathetic, or even supportive of abortion and created rabid one issue voters and even murderers and terrorists.
    That is the deadly power of groups taught to believe things on faith, and blindly trust religious authority.

    Abortion is in the bible, up to age 7. "Dasheth the little ones against the rocks."
    This passage offers advice in how to approach predictable hardship, like the start of war or massive famine. After age 7, kids can fend for themselves well enough. Before 7, individual children hold back the larger family unit. Additionally, the messed up life for the baby is unfair.
    Rather than, perhaps, an invading army raping the baby or dying slowly from malnourishment, just smashy-smashy those heads.
    ...so sayeth the Lord.

Unable to form a close union with a man, she then lashes out a her own failure in this area by attacking the entire (and I agree it is a) patriarchal system. She represents much of what is wrong with this country. In her real life (if she is anything like most comedians/iennes) she is miserably depressed and crippled with a deep sorrow in her heart from a wound she received early in her life that she has been unable to heal from. In truth, much of what she hates is herself.

      @DorianMattar 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The Bible often identifies life with "breath", (Gen. 2:7) suggesting that life begins at birth, not conception. This has traditionally been the view of Jewish Biblical scholars. For example Ezekiel 37:1-14 suggests this which is consistent with Genesis 2:7. Adam did not become a "living soul" until the "breath of life" entered his nostrils AFTER his body was formed. Other examples are in Joshua 10:40, 1 Kings 15:29 and many others where "breath" is treated as a synonym for "life". In biblical terms it seems clear that life begins at birth, not conception.

    Actually the bible mentions abortion. In the Adultery Test god tells Moses when to perform an abortion:
    And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
    Numbers 5:27-28

    • @Bekindtopeople
      @Bekindtopeople 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is referring to the degeration of her reproductive organs so that she can not conceive. That is not the same thing as abortion.

    • @Bekindtopeople
      @Bekindtopeople 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is referring to her being unfaithful, however nowhere does it mention that she is pregnant, an important detail you are overlooking. I recommend you reread that chapter.

    • @Bekindtopeople
      @Bekindtopeople 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Naomi Rivera it doesn't mention that she is pregnant. however she would not be able to become pregnant, which would cause her grief since a woman not having children was socially unacceptable back then. however if like you say she was pregnant, and the curse shriveled her organs killing the baby, that would contradict Ex. 21:22,23.

    • @Bekindtopeople
      @Bekindtopeople 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +usukatlifegodiekthx yes if the baby was born prematurely and without fatality in verse 22. however verse 23 says if a fatality did occur with the baby, then you must give life for life (or soul for soul). This would mean that if someone caused the death of a baby they would loose their life. apparently an unborn child's life was viewed just as valuable as an adults life.

    • @usukatlifegodiekthx
      @usukatlifegodiekthx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in 22, why pay a fine if there was no harm, if you hit a woman and they have a healthy child what are you paying for? Your paying a fine for a miscarriage. Not like they had premature baby wards.
      In 23 it's talking about the mothers life.

      +Brian Jensen but Numbers is in the Old Testament and after the events of the Old Testament God sent Jesus to fulfill the word.The book of Numbers was originally part of the Torah, not to pin this on Jews, but Christianity's teachings come from Jesus who you can read about in the New Testament and all he taught was to believe that is the way and to love your neighbor and enemy. Everything that happened in the Old Testament is true and from the outside looking in it makes God look cruel but this just isn't true. In fact, he loves us so much he sent his only son to die for us and while he walked the earth all he ever did was spread love.

    Actually, there IS a passage about abortion, which says that if a man thinks a woman cheated on him and he thinks the baby isn't his he should force her to drink an abortion-inducing herbal drink. If she "miscarries" that's God's way of saying she cheated on him.
    *So yeah, God's a-okay with abortions so long as they're being forced and non-consensual.*

      I suppose you can ignore verse 28, which explicitly claims that the accused woman is not pregnant, but can become so if she has not been unfaithful.
      Why?
      It doesn't fit into your narrative?

    • @Azrael666Azazel
      @Azrael666Azazel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      polemius01 5:27-5:28
      "When he has made her drink the water, then it shall come about, if she has defiled herself and has been unfaithful to her husband, that the water which brings a curse will go into her and cause bitterness, and her abdomen will swell and her thigh will waste away, and the woman will become a curse among her people. 28But if the woman has not defiled herself and is clean, she will then be free and conceive children."
      Your point doesn't really hurt the argument. If she isn't pregnant then the potion won't work, but if she has had a child that doesn't belong to her husband she will miscarry.

    • @polemius01
      @polemius01 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can read. Where is the explicit proof that an abortion may happen during the ritual?
      "Bitter water" is used often for "poisoned water." The results of a poisoning include swelling abdomen; the term "thigh will waste away" is unclear, at best.
      If an abortafaecient is meant, then there would be a clearly written description of the result, including some reference to illicit offspring; the only conclusion is that the entire passage is metaphorical, with a meaning contemporary to the editing stage about which moderns are ignorant.

      What used to be the Democratic party of the South was embraced and subsumed by the Republican Party after the Democrats considered themselves betrayed by the Washington Elites in their own party who forced desegregation down their throats (you know: demanded they treat colored people as human beings). All those nasty, racist, bigoted shitstains flocked en masse to the Republican Party, where they are still the most reliable voting bloc. Everything despicable about the Demcrats of the 60's is now part of the Republicans TODAY. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    Not to say the Religious Right is unconditionally correct, but Bee's portrayal of it is hardly accurate. She is inexplicably silent on Catholic opposition to abortion, which was constant and preceded eventual Evangelical support (though Schaeffer Jr. did allude to it). In many ways, she attacks the obvious weaknesses and shortcomings of the Religious Right and the pro-life movement, creating a strawman that doesn't accurately represent the big picture and is thus easily dismantled. Such is increasingly typical of the left wing's "comedy news" phenomenon (think John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Jon Stewart). Its funny, yes, but hardly intellectually rigorous or considerate of multiple perspectives. Many people (myself included) find the right-wing media's "Fear the Left" conspiracy-mongering (O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, etc.) to be a significant threat, but I think the left wing's comedy-flavored contempt for the right to be the opposite side of the same coin. If the danger of conservatism is to valorize the past and distrust the future, is not the danger of progressivism to celebrate every innovation and belittle anyone who voices doubt or concern?

    • @HopefulSaint
      @HopefulSaint 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      *If the danger of conservatism is to valorize the past and distrust the future, is not the danger of progressivism to celebrate every innovation and belittle anyone who voices doubt or concern?*
      That is the fundamental nature of cons and libs. Cons cling to the past, the tried and true, the status quo, and distrust change and things new. Libs look to the future, the new, change, and seek to correct the mistakes and errors of the past that should have been abandoned a long time ago. Both have pros and cons.
