Anthony McCarthy How is she serious when this is a "comedy" news show? Besides she adds to the tabloid news by name calling Republicans as all left liberals do.
Best part is five days after supporting Trump, Ryan's back in the news condemning his "racist comments" about the federal judge. He sold his moral high ground for a bag of silver and didn't make it a week before realizing that he didn't like the way it spent.
A bit of odd trivia but few know that Sam's sister Jennifer is the USA Women's Olympic Judo coach and actually killed a bison in an attempt to save some kid from getting trampled in a park near Yellowstone. The crazy thing is she used her bare hands!
Because Bernie has lost. He realistically lost any real chance when he lost NY. After that, people who believed Bernie had any chance have been simply in denial. I like Bernie, but he still clearly lost.
Chocolate_ nerds The media was unfair to Bernie, in the early elections, and the DNC CLEARLY supported Clinton, but the elections them selves seemed very fair to Bernie. Though the fact that more of the media did not "count Bernie out" after NY, was being overly kind to Bernie, though it had nothing to do with kindness and everything to do with the media earning money. Most election issues I have read about either should have helped Bernie or helped no one. Long lines should help Bernie, and his supporters are far more invested then Clinton supporters, so they are MORE likely to wait hours in a line then Clinton supporters.
Haha so true - I actually kinda wanted trump to get the nomination just because it would be so hilarious to talk about - didn't think it would actually happen tho :'D
gordogunso Not laughing and saying 'No' to your statement, which was true, but at JonnyNice's statement that Bernie can still win, which is not true. Sorry if that seemed like I was laughing at you.
Andre Hobbs Because I did that for you and I would like to know why you believe what you do. I don't see the logic in it. I would like to know how you can logically come to a different conclusion. Or are you simply a zealot, and logic need not apply?
Hahahaha I love you Samantha... How can the truth be soooo funny? I wish Stewart was on the air for this election tho. Make him your guest sometime please!!!
Not a lot of exposure to him, African-Americans not being particularly liberal, long ties to Clinton, and Sanders dropping the ball early. The worst was when he said he would solve racism by breaking up the banks.
Nice to see that you've decided who we're going to be voting for - why should we bother voting, when clearly there is no need? Thanks for relieving us of the heavy burden of choice!
She rips everybody and tells it like it is, but because she's a woman she still gets loads of dislikes.. sigh (not saying that they all are, but I'm sure if this was Jon Stewart or Bill O'rielly it would be different)
O'Reilly & Stewart would get likes and dislikes based on their politics and perceived politics. They don't get judged by their gender. Sam Bee, despite her considerable abilities, does.
You're not wrong. She's brilliant and super-talented. OTOH, there are a lot of jokes that don't make me actually laugh. They keep me paying attention, though. I'm not complaining.
I'm not sexist I just think it's more based on the fact that she is giving a non neutral opinion on politics which pisses idiots off.. I don't think it has a lot to do with gender
Not just a bad candidate, a record hated candidate only less unfavourable than Trump who loses or ties him in most polls and is under FBI investigation. I'm a fan of Sam, but her "stick your head in the ground for the sake of Dem. unity" mentality irritates me.
I know how she feels about the Dem Primary right now, and it was reported after she taped, but I wonder how she feels about the AP reporting Hilary won before the primaries on Tuesday.
Given even Hillary wasn't happy (could depress voter turnout for her and for down ticket candidates) something tells me AP would be getting a serious eyeroll from Sam. See, those 40 supers were asked to not declare until after the Tuesday vote for a reason (not depressing voter turnout for hyped primaries), but AP figured out who they were and just called them up to ask so they could get the scoop. Goof for AP because they get to yell "first!" bad for the Dems who now have to remind people these primaries still matter (again, down ticket issues, we liberals are not always good at showing up for anything other than the prez). So now CA's a catch-22 for Hillary. If she loses it's the same, Bernie likely stays in til the convention, and it's been made more likely since Hil supporters might stay home because they think it's in the bag. If she wins, Bernie supporters will bash her by claiming the announcement swung things overly in her favor instead. By making this announcement AP has REALLY but her in a tight spot, thus her almost immediate damage control last night of "no, no, let's see what these final primaries say". AP made a major fail, no matter if you're Berner or With Her.
In the election of 1800 with the Electoral College tied Federalists faced a decision between Burr and Jefferson when the House of Representative, then controlled by Federalists, was required to resolve the tie. Hamilton. leader of the Federalist Party had come to despise Jefferson whose underhanded and dishonest political machinations and ignorance of economics had been an endless source of difficulty when Hamilton was in government. Yet Hamilton compelled the members of his party to make Jefferson president. Hamilton recommended to Federalists that they support Jefferson because he was "by far not so dangerous a man" as Burr; in short, he would much rather have someone with wrong principles than someone devoid of any. Republican voters today face a similar choice between a highly experienced candidate with whom they disagree or a dangerous man who lacks principals of any kind?
I've been fascinated by Hamilton since middle school. But even Burr, with his kooky ideas about becoming emperor of Mexico and insatiable ego, had a couple of redeeming qualities. Like stating that not only should slavery be abolished, but former slaves should have the vote. That was incredibly radical 200+ years ago. I don't see anything comparable in Trump, no "peg to hang a doubt on."
highly experienced candidate, yea hillary is very experienced in taking bribes and getting americans killed; lacking principals of any kind ? that describes hilary 100%
That described the fantasy Hilary that you have made up in your own warped mind. Bribes? You made that up out of thin air. Get's people killed - I guess the Bush Admin get's a pass just because you hate fantasy Hilary so much. Doesn't your hypocrisy embarrass you?
+Jesus Price full quote "We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated," you took that (like everyone else so I don't blame you) out of context
Basically, during the Democratic primaries, Senator Clinton won states with a high percentage of African-American voters, such as South Carolina and Georgia and Senator Sanders won states that were more white in comparison, such as Iowa and New Hampshire.
Black people are just as ignorant about politics as the rest of America but we tend to vote as a block, the Clintons have a completely unearned positive history with the older generation of the black community that coupled with little to no media coverage of Bernie in the beginning lead to a quick victory in South, after that confirmation bias took over and keep sweeping the older black vote. Black youth vote especially after the South went to Bernie. My aunt told me how much see loved Bernie and trust him way more than Hillary, just to go and vote for her because "she's done so much for us".......ugh
+Tamar Kfir Like CarthAnne has said, Hillary won in "blacker" states more often. It's also that because of Bill Clinton's presidency, there's a familiarity between the black voting base and the Clinton message and legacy, unlike them only finding out about Bernie's Civil Rights legacy more recently. More to the point though, it's quite disingenuous of Sam to pretend that that's the reason Hillary did well early on. Firsly, those same "blacker" states are also mostly Red states (so they'll almost definitely vote Republican and won't be an option for her in the general). Voting in the Red states first (which favour Hillary's more conservative stances on war, business, etc.) created a media narrative that she was the early favourite and couldn't be challenged. It's been shown there's far more of an age difference in Hillary vs. Bernie supporters than race differences, as young black, latino, native american, other minority, etc. voters are more in favour of Bernie. Then you've got the multiple allegations of voter fraud and suppression tactics in states like Arizona, New York, Massachusetts, etc. These led to distorted results and mass voter purges, on top of the various closed primaries that exclude independent voters (in NY, you had to register back in October, before some independents had even decided if they wanted to vote Democrat). Those kind of things were broadly ignored in the media in favour of going "Hillary's won this, this and this," while dismissing Bernie's victories as "too white, too weird, odd voting processes, caucuses, etc." (For the record, caucuses aren't a good voting method and I can't help but feel the USA should have automatic electoral registration once you become eligible to vote with open primaries country-wide, but that's another discussion). Finally, there's the superdelegate problem. In almost all mainstream media stats for the Democrat results, superdelegates (who do not vote until the July convention) were counted in the totals as though they had already voted. Many pledged support to Hillary before she even had opponents and the DNC have been on CNN telling them they should not include superdelegates in the results because it's not correct. Basically, superdelegates enabled the media to distort the lead Hillary possessed and this results in the bandwagon effect: "I'll vote for her because she can't be beaten." A similar thing happened with the Republican voters and Trump, so it's not party-exclusive. I don't know how much you probably knew already, but the "How did we get here?" for the Dems is basically a lot more than "black people are allowed to vote" as Sam dismissively put it. More than anything, reducing it to that shows horrendous bias and a willingness to ignore facts on her part. (Sorry for the essay!)
Agree wholeheartedly. I am a fan of Samantha Bee, but have not liked her biased coverage against Bernie Sanders. Your essay was excellent and on point.
Those of you wondering if she is bias....of course!!! It's not even bias...she prefers the other candidate...u know the first woman in history to lead the free world..pretty simple to get really. commeth the hour commeth the woman...thank the gods!!!!
Bernie is" weak" not because the media says he is but because the facts say he is; he's effectively at war with the party he intends to lead, fell behind in popular vote, delegates, states won and head to head polling with trump and shown himself to be a hypocrite by claiming that the SDs should ignore the will of their associated states in favor of him.
'She offers no solution' You do know she's a comedian right? Don't get me wrong, we all laughed at Trump at first when he started offering his solutions, but we've learned our lesson now.
goddess! You are so smart, witty, and insightful. I want to be more like you, you truly are a great role model! That is my life goal! Hope to be in your show, front row soon. xo
When you talk about the Democratic primaries, I think you mean to say "old people are allowed to vote", not "black people are allowed to vote". Sanders won the vote among African Americans between the ages of 17 and 29. But that doesn't sound as snarkily dismissive of a campaign that won 46% of the vote against a candidate everyone thought was going to easily sweep the nomination, does it?
Look at the nominee's ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahaajJajajajajajajajajajajajajajajjajajjajajajaja
So what? This isn't a news program, it's a satire show. It's allowed to be biased. And she's from the Daily Show, they're all pretty much liberal leaning.
It's easy to comment all it takes is a few key strokes, I just hope you will show up and vote and make sure this joke does not end up in the white house because if you don't take the time to vote the joke is on you.
God, she is one of the funniest political comedians, I hope her show gets more popular!
factual on the other hand...
+gordogunso are you saying you think she should become more factual or she already is factual?

Samantha Bee is the most important voice in American news and she isn't a journalist. She is the best we've got.
Lol no
Uh, yeah. She's more serious than all of the news departments of all the cabloids and the broadcast "news" departments.
Anthony McCarthy How is she serious when this is a "comedy" news show? Besides she adds to the tabloid news by name calling Republicans as all left liberals do.
She's more accurate than the corporate knocking shop "journalists" are. That she does so while being funny doesn't change that.
Lol John Oliver anyone?
Best part is five days after supporting Trump, Ryan's back in the news condemning his "racist comments" about the federal judge. He sold his moral high ground for a bag of silver and didn't make it a week before realizing that he didn't like the way it spent.
Right on.

Whoa 😮
I fell for it
amazing
+Troy Mitchell Are you going to actually refute any of her information?
Regardless, it was quite the event and talk around the town as it was almost too odd to make any sense.
the only problem i have with her is she is so with Hillary that she don't even give Bernie anything
Because Bernie has lost. He realistically lost any real chance when he lost NY. After that, people who believed Bernie had any chance have been simply in denial. I like Bernie, but he still clearly lost.
Bernie is dunzo

dont be racist, he saved us from the great depression, are you calling him lair ?
This is exactly what happened when bernie was giving speeches and media was showing empty trump podiums. She could have pointed that out too.
It did kinda happen 3 days before Bernie was statistically commended to lose the race.
He can still win.
hahahahahhahahahahha, no
+Nicholas Alexander Posey why?
gordogunso Not laughing and saying 'No' to your statement, which was true, but at JonnyNice's statement that Bernie can still win, which is not true. Sorry if that seemed like I was laughing at you.
I love the line, 'How did we end up with these two empty podiums?'
if hillary steals the nomination I'm just gunna give up on dnc and gop both have money cancer #neverclinton
Loathomar there are plenty of people calling election fraud but you're entitled to your own opinion.
Loathomar as I said you can think what you want. I think the election was corrupt in Clintons favor and can not ethically support her.
Andre Hobbs Show me evidence or explain to me the logic of how election issues have significantly worked in Clinton's favor.
Loathomar why?
Andre Hobbs Because I did that for you and I would like to know why you believe what you do. I don't see the logic in it. I would like to know how you can logically come to a different conclusion. Or are you simply a zealot, and logic need not apply?
This show is funny when Bee isn't shilling for Hillary.
I never thought I'd feel sorry for the GOP.And I was right. I don't feel the least bit sorry for them.
Hahahaha I love you Samantha... How can the truth be soooo funny? I wish Stewart was on the air for this election tho. Make him your guest sometime please!!!
Looks like she did =P
Ok nevermind, I found it on her page... it Just happened. 5 seconds of Stewart, and Sam shows she's the boss now. Haha
Samantha bee should take over The Daily Show. Trevor Noah just isn't cutting it.
"We got here because black people are allowed to vote. Moving on!"
actually is there any research or something why Sanders polled so low among african americans?
+WeShredForBeer I guess all that pandering to minorities worked in Hillary's favor.
Because African-Americans don't owe Sanders, an independent from the really, really white state of Vermont, anything. Especially compared to Hillary.
lol what
Not a lot of exposure to him, African-Americans not being particularly liberal, long ties to Clinton, and Sanders dropping the ball early. The worst was when he said he would solve racism by breaking up the banks.
I'm voting for the candidate who will be impeached quickest.
Now that's a plan.
Hillary is on her way.

From New Zealand. Samantha Bee and her team are geniuses. it takes big smart to combine succinct wit with accuracy like this.
She rips everybody and tells it like it is, but because she's a woman she still gets loads of dislikes.. sigh (not saying that they all are, but I'm sure if this was Jon Stewart or Bill O'rielly it would be different)

I would like to think so.
+Nx Doyle Wrong. She gets dislikes for pandering to a hypocrite.
Hillary could say she's having Bernie's baby and I wouldn't Follow her....

Wish the media would stop using the word "clinch." Sounds like something you do while sitting on the toilet.
Actually it sounds a lot more like something I would be doing as I shuffle feverishly towards a toilet - but point taken.
You also clinch in jail.
+Angel Gd I don't get it. Why would you clinch in jail?

After the Puerto Rico results she did have it wrapped. She's actually had it pretty well up since April 19. Bernie hasn't been plausible since then.

can someone please explain to me what is the thing with the black vote and Hillary about? there wasn't alot of coverage about that
Basically, during the Democratic primaries, Senator Clinton won states with a high percentage of African-American voters, such as South Carolina and Georgia and Senator Sanders won states that were more white in comparison, such as Iowa and New Hampshire.

this is very biased, I wouldn't mind it as much if she destroyed the Democrats as much at the Republicans
Sam is actually very fair. It more had to do with the fact that Rep. have destroyed their own party.
That's why there are hilarious conservative hosted satire shows to counter balance.
She's allowed to have an opinion. That's the whole point of the show, actually.
Why would she do that? Pretty sure she's a Democrat. AND a comedian....

We love you Samantha, you are best.
who named this show?
When you talk about the Democratic primaries, I think you mean to say "old people are allowed to vote", not "black people are allowed to vote". Sanders won the vote among African Americans between the ages of 17 and 29. But that doesn't sound as snarkily dismissive of a campaign that won 46% of the vote against a candidate everyone thought was going to easily sweep the nomination, does it?
Bee is killing it!
why doesn't it show the sub count
Look at the nominee's ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahaajJajajajajajajajajajajajajajajjajajjajajajaja
what a great ending line

*NOW REAP WHAT THOU HATH SOWN...!*
I can't believe how hard they laughed at a donald Drumpf candidacy
so biased
Thanks for the view
She did talk about Super Delegates, look it up.
So what? This isn't a news program, it's a satire show. It's allowed to be biased. And she's from the Daily Show, they're all pretty much liberal leaning.
I hate to eliminate the comment of the beast, but that was great!
How many subs does she have?
so how many subs does this Beestein have?
This is excellent. On point. Funny. Brutal. I love it. Why can't Sam (and John Oliver) be on air more than one night a week? They're awesome.
I never been in love with a woman....congrats Sammie B......you've stolen my Heart..and Brain.

It's easy to comment all it takes is a few key strokes, I just hope you will show up and vote and make sure this joke does not end up in the white house because if you don't take the time to vote the joke is on you.
