I feel the number one thing about Maru that speaks to how good he is and the aura he wields compared to other terrans is how often he will literally have half the army supply of his opponent and they posture up for a fight and he is able to make them think they can't win and go home.
It's not fear, it's not paranoia, it's experience. Against the greatest players in the world, Maru can make them leave, not because they misjudged the situation, but because they judged it correctly.
Thing with Maru is that he goes to a fight he knows he can win.
I was rooting for the runner-up in these finals but the winner is undeniably the greatest at his race in the world. Thanks for the always quality highlights and uploads.

It's unbelievable the player skill we have today. I remember in WoL when matches were about maxing, then running your big ball into your opponent's big ball. Now these guys are fighting on so many fronts, even the casters can't keep up. Maru is playing out of his mind, and I don't know how he does it.

Nydus are by far the most broken and retarded unit concept of the whole game
No race or unit whatsoever is able to put global pressure, appear in any place and not only allow to move units from 1 cornet to the other, but also allows you to make a quick escape and save all your units if you desire

2:02 entire mineral line gets cleared. 13 scvs. caster: "not too many scvs going down".... meanwhile 3 banshes going across the map in other games and require 5 minutes of hard micro to kill 3 drones. "good harrassment and big damage"
thats just the state of terran race, a dumbed down version of starcraft where macro isnt strictly necessary. its just easier for them to play

Nah, I am being a Maru fanboy but Serral has looked better than him recently. But I think Maru still can beat Serral if he playing like this when they meet.

@@Yazimo none, but he has 2 World Championship and Maru has none. I would take 2 world title over 7 GSL to be honest. But if Maru can win another mega-prize tournament then I would defend him to death over Serral.
@@tigera6 and I would say the only reason why Serral does not have a GSL it is because He does not live in Korea (For those who dont know u have to have lived in Korea for several months in order to participate in GSL)
@@leonar2mf yes, and its worth it if players like Serral want to do it. At least in the past, but not this year because of the prizepool cut. I know living in KR is expensive and all, but for a chance to win 35k USD? I would do it if I were Serral. But I am not holding it against him though, its his choice.
I know I'm being a salty zerg player here, but it's kind of amazing how Dark was just ahead in workers for the entirety of game 1 and still never even really came close to winning that game. I know Maru is obviously godlike but just seemed like that game was still very one sided

Man this is depressing, watching ghosts counter every single zerg unit every single game.
Only Maru's Ghost are like that, most Terran doesn't even use Ghost
@@doddydwi9850 Absolutely incorrect, every single pro Terran uses ghosts in both TvP and TvZ because they are among T's best units in both matchups. Clem and especially Byun use ghosts much better than maru too.
I actually think Maru could’ve won game 5 if he committed to that drop. Obviously he couldn’t know how out of position Dark was, we have perfect vision hand hindsight’s advantage after all.
Still, it’s a pretty cool example of how information can really screw with you and make you make wrong choices based on insufficient information.
Love how Maru plays. Looks so basic, but well executed.

@@tigera6 so you agree, T has very limited late game besides the ghost. Sounds like they should nerd with one hand and buff with the other.
@@meddings222 Yeah, but it would take a lot of buff for that to happen, including Tanks/Libs seige faster, Viking fly quicker, Ravens need to be more useful, ect...I think all of those would need to be done just to nerf the Ghsot.

26:03 why wouldn’t you target the ghost academy with that Nydus? Ghosts are strong against everything Zerg has I would have taken that out first.
1. Ghost academy is a 1.5 tier tech, cheap, doesnt take long to rebuild.
2. If ghosts are already queued in the barracks, losing the academy doesn't immediately stop the production, so killing the building has less effect.

When every infantry unit has a single spell that basically wins fights, Stim needs to be nerfed.
state of terran race:a dumbed down version of starcraft where macro isnt strictly necessary. its designed for people whos worse so they would have an easier time. afterall most majority of players are bad and blizzard need to keep them interested. why do you think terran is the most noob-friendly race anyways?

Can you make it less obvious?, By the time we make it to game 5 we already get to know who wins.
I just lost 6 times in a row today. Gimmicky units that kill whole armies in one second like widow mines ruin the game. Like seeker missiles all over again. A ball of mutas shouldn't die in two seconds
Good games, i honestly dont even know why Dark even tries, there is no way he can win against terran, let alone Maru's terran.
The terrans benefit tremendously in terms of resources.
Thanks to MULE, I spend less resources on SCV and only have 1 type of mechanic shield-up, so there is a lot of resource benefit
Blizzard have to block the Battle Cruiser for 5 seconds from using the Yamato Cannon and Tactical Jump
LIBERATOR & Ghost Sniper so OOOOOOPPPPPP.
On the other hand, Protoss & Zerg need to invest more in ground and air defense upgrades respectively
Even Zerg & Protoss' defense towers cannot recover resources, but Terran has another resource benefit with the bunker recovery function
In terms of resources, Protoss & Zerg are at a huge disadvantage overall
The zerg is still garbage

Zerg units are expensive to upgrade and take a long time to complete
The tech building is also expensive, but you have to invest 50 more minerals called drones there and pay 50 minerals again to produce the lost drone
Are the zerg a cheap tribe? Fukshieeeeet. Zerg most expensive and inefficient tribe
Zerg adds minerals and gas when transforming units
No race is more expensive than the Zerg
One last thing on my mind.
Terran Cyclone & Battle Cruiser can auto-attack
Protoss Phoenix & Carrier can auto-attack
Zerg have no such units
Blizzard needs to patch these issues quickly

Also, I don't doubt it. I'm a protoss main and I've always said protoss is by far the easiest and most OP race at lower levels (I'm in Diamond). I'm not surprised all the way up to GM its still op but at the real pro level it's absolutely underpowered.

Vs zerg, you just need to take one bad fight and this is game over for you.
But vs terrans, a zerg can take several bad fight but still come back easily.

@@soligaming5729 yes, it's by design, a fully maxed Zerg army is generally weaker than a Terran's. Zerg unit costs and larva mechanic account for this. They have their timing windows, and so do you.
