Naruto isn’t for everyone but I don’t understand, naruto isn’t a “chosen one” trope type of story it’s an underdog story, he works day in and day out to get to his goal defying all the haters and what they say about him, naruto was only chosen to be jinchuriki for the the nine tails because he come from the “uzumaki clan” which has high reserves of chakra just like his mother before him it’s sad actually having a fox demon that destroyed your village and killed your parents stored inside of you to then be attacked and bullied his whole life.
This is such a good idea for a 24 hour Readathon! Yes! Gave me such good ideas for mangas I need to read. Especially the one with the mother. We love a physiological thriller
I’ve been reading manga since I was 9 and it’s so interesting to see someone get into it for the first time. If you’re going to like shounen I think you’ll like one of these: Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin! Shoujo: Fruits Basket, Kimi Ni Todoke, Bokura Ga Ita, Angelic Layer. Good but sad: Saikano, Made in Abyss. Aaaand I always have to recommend Inuyasha! 😅
I have a few manga recommendations If you like dramas there is a manga called honey and clover it is already completed and there is a bookset. If you like adventure but also food there is delicious dungeons
I absolutely love manga! I have been reading the various genres sense I was a wee little girly. One of my favorites pass times if I want to whine down and relax. I remember every day from school coming home or on the car ride with my mom I would just sit on my tablet reading manga✨. Manga & Anime hold such a big part of my childhood and started my love for reading more when I was younger. I’m so glad you wanted to read these manga!

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku is so fun! I love the art style in that one and the characters are so great. Also Laid-Back Camp is such a vibe. I think that one would be a bit easier for beginners. Makes you want to go camping. 😆
My Recommendations: My Love Story: Super cute shojo about a pretty girl and ugly guy falling in love. It's about their ups and downs that are very realistic for a high school relationship. Happiness: It's written by the same guy that writes Blood On The Tracks. It involves vampires and cults. It scared me but I love it. The end is underwhelming but I'll accept it Jujutsu Kaisen: Amazing shonen especially the Shibuya arc Chainsaw Man: It's more of philosophical shonen Vampire Knight: A fun shojo about vampires and it's pretty short. If you need any DC comics recommendations, I'm here for you
I have just finished Beatiarius and it will break your heart. Highly recommended. Also I would recommend the mangaka Hozumi, her arts are amazing. And obviously an incredible shonen is Full metal Alchemist. 🥰🥰
You should try 'blue flag' it is complete at 8 volumes and i believe the last volume will be out next month its a seinen and id say its contemporary. It has some beautiful conversations that ive never seen in any manga and very few books.
Honestly don't blame you for not getting into Naruto. My friends and I recently did a reread of the entire series and we came out of it with very mixed reviews. The only reason I even still think about Naruto is cause it imprinted itself on my 13 yr old lizard brain. For a romantic fantasy shoujo, I rec Yona of the Dawn. Thought it was going to be fairly predictable, but I fell in love with the characters. Also for a chill, supernatural slice of life series, I rec Natsume's Book of Friends.
I would also recommend you Hell´s paradise. It is a seinen, and it has gore, good characters, nice world building and more. I have read the 3 first volumes and I really enjoyed it. The story is about Gabimaru, a ninja who is on death row, but is offered freedom if he travels to a mysterious island and finds the elixir of life. That is the premise of the story, but the characters and the emotions that the mangaka (the manga creator) is able to bring to this manga, is really nice, and it would be nice to see how you would like it.
I would recommend you Haru´s curse. It has drama, romance and how it feels to lose someone. The art is really well done, and the art describes what happens in the story really well. I recommend you to go into this kinda blind, the plot twist makes it for at interesting ride with haru´s curse. Haru´s curse is in a omnibus, meaning it has more than 1 volume in one book, so you get the read the whole series in one book.

I've read Naruto, Death Note and Tokyo Ghoul and of them, I haven't truly loved any. I enjoyed TG well enough but I didn't even really like the others RIP, and I read ALL of Naruto (a mistake truly). I'm really excited to try Spy X Family, and some I'm excited about are Haikyuu, One Piece and Behind the Scenes
-A good Josei that I recommend is Sweat and Soap by Kintetsu Yamada. Their relationship is very healthy, non toxic, and very communicative. Plus they are office working adults. -A good shoujo I recommend is A sign of affection by Suu Morishita, we have a main female character that is deaf, and a guy that is interested in learning about the world that the main female lead lives in. Both of them are in university. -SHOUJO THAT I REALLY LOVE IS YONA OF THE DAWN, not only is it a shoujo with romance, it has a lot of political elements to it, which you mentioned that you like. Though, do be aware this is a 30+ long series and it is still ongoing, but I have read what is out, and it is still as good. This manga also has an anime, that is one of my top favorite animes. -Another shoujo that I recommend is Kimi ni Todoke, this is a slowburn romance shoujo, it has an anime out with 2 seasons. The manga is complete with 30 volumes, I have only watched the anime, but this is also one of my top favorite anime, the friendships and the relationship and the journey between the main couple is so nice to watch and read, so totally recommend you checking this out. -Wotakoi love is hard for otaku manga by Fujita. This is an office romance between otakus. Really cute, the anime is really nice, though the manga is episodic, but the anime is not , so if you either watch or read the series you can defiently notice the difference with the pacing. A really nice series, I really like the anime, haven't read the manga, but a lot people like it.

If you want to read about the manga industry, try to read Bakuman (or watch it, it's pretty good) 😄 It's about two friends who have dreams to become serialized and their hardship being in the industry.
Bakuman has a lot sexist moments and sexist undertones, just so you know getting into Bakuman. In the first 3 chapters that I read, I was already annoyed by the male characters, and I have heard it pretty much stays that way throughout the whole series, and it has 20 volumes in total. The sexism is not looked at something bad, it just exist, like it is not used to showcase how the manga industry is towards woman and more.
I love manga only started last year 😊 anya is amazing in spy x family 🤣 Shonen wise I love my hero academia and if your looking for some fluffy shojo Fruits basket and Josei I really enjoy perfect world ☺️☺️
You Should Read Sun Ken Rock the art is great and the first volume is a bit boring but it catches the pace in the later parts also disclaimer there is nudity oh it is a Seinen

Bakuman has a lot sexist moments and sexist undertones, just so you know getting into Bakuman. In the first 3 chapters that I read, I was already annoyed by the male characters, and I have heard it pretty much stays that way throughout the whole series, and it has 20 volumes in total. The sexism is not looked at something bad, it just exist, like it is not used to showcase how the manga industry is towards woman and more.
