Daidus: you spilled ink?
ABSOLUTE CINEMA
30:17 SPILLLLLLLED IIIIIIINK
In Ryan George voice: "THAT'S THE NAME OF THE CHANNEL 🤯"
🙌🤷♂️
THE SPILLED INK IS REAL🗣🗣🗣🗣(Dark Fantasy intro plays)
OMG TITLE DROP!!!!!!!
Daidus about to die in a car crash: “Whoa slow motion! This sick! Like in the movies”
"You have no sense of danger."- Emily to daidus.
*Emirichu turns character into food*
Daidus: "Looks scrumptious"
Emily: "STOP! DON'T EAT HIM!"
omg spilled ink episode dropped during my study session
A study session more like youtube watching session
Bros just ruined your study session
Facts lmao
NO WAY ME TOOOO
What study session? Lol
I love Emily is like 'I'll try to scream less'
5 minutes later.
AAAAAAAAA!
Saying that i LOVE their dynamic is an UNDERSTATEMENT, these 2 bozos are adorableee i loveeeee themmmm 😭😭😭😭
FR it such a comfort watch, you just laugh and giggle at their interactions
For the fountain pen-keeping the angle of the nib as VERTICAL as possible may help minimize splatter/spill incidents. The nib can best distribute a steady flow of ink when held UPRIGHT; when held diagonally or horizontally, you’re prone to more random ink-blob jumpscares (insert horror-movie-worthy artist shrieks here)
Also I’m super excited about this inktober series! Keep up the wonderful work-and may your fountain pens leave you blob-free!
daidus's zombie ichika would eat emily's tanghulu ichika 😂
frr lol
Smooth thick paper is super helpful. People also tend to start from the top left then move to the bottom right.(You can reverse this process if you are left handed. Just move from the top right to the bottom left) I also like to move my paper to help me get strange angles and shapes.
30:16 HE SAID THE THING!! HE SAID THE THING!!!!!
I didn't get to this part yet, hopefully he says squid up!
Edit: He didn't 😢
This month I am doing my first ever Inktober with my friend, and I have to thank this channel for making this possible. This channel gave me back the motivation for drawing, I am now more confident in my drawing skills and I see Inktober as a great chance to test and improve them.
Fav pen tip I learned was to clean ya nib while what you've lined dries. It helps keep them in good condition and also it doesn't clog as often (use something that doesn't have fibers) Also practicing some lines to begin with!!! It helps find the right pressure
I have to say it, I loved Daidus' insomnia drawing, idk why, i think it's cool
When it comes to working with ink, using ink straight from the bottle can sometimes be a little thick for pen nibs and especially brushes. Having a separate little container or bottle and watering it down just a bit with water can help with ink flow and making brushes not get gunky.
Also it’s good to have a just a separate piece of paper to practice line strokes with the pen nibs or brushes.
Daidus popped off with that skull kid art 😮
The moon from Majora's Mask in the thumbnail is hilarious and I love it.
Happy Inktober everyone and have a great rest of spooktober and spooktacular Halloween.🎃👻
I loved that, should have used the bell from the Zelda 64 games when the x days remained came.
@@DJ5_OVD That would be great and really cool.
@@DJ5_OVD That'd be really cool in the other Spilled Inktober videos.
The Skull Kid steals the mask from the Happy Mask Salesmen in the woods at night! Skull kid was sadly then enthralled by the mask! It took over his body and changed his mischievness nasture into evil! But Daidus making the majoras mask song sound KILLED ME LMFAO XD
ALSO DAIDUS YOU DID VERY GOOD ON YOUR DRAWING OF SKULL KID I LOVED IT!!! :D
the speed at which i clicked this at, i love you two! yall make my week, my comfort channel🙂
The spilled ink intro is so cute
I bet Daidus is gonna draw "whack" Emurichu at least once this month
I'm a bit familiar with manga dip pen. You should clean your nib after you use it with a bit of water and tissue paper/fabric to prevent clogging. You can also heat the nib with fire for 2-3 seconds with lighter/candle, make sure it's clean from ink
Hearing Daidus talk so passionately about Majora's Mask makes me want to see the two of you play it xD It's such a good game and not TOO spooky for Emily
Yo! Im a sequential art major at an art school, and for a week or two our professor taught us how to use those dip pen nibs! Some general tips i learned is to keep the point side down, so as you apply plessure the prongs split more and you get a thicker line. This is how a lot of mangakas do shading and line weight so fast. Emily seems to already have a good understanding that your ALWAYS pulling towards yourself to draw your lines, instead of oushing or going side to side. It feels wierd and scary at first, but once you get used to it its super fun!!
Watching you guys draw always inspires me to draw too! It actually got me out of a major art slump of 2 years haha (I actually have an art project deadline and I haven’t started yet oops😅 so maybe this is a sign to start lol)
I love using dip pens and various nibs. Dab off excess ink that might be on the back of the nib, experiment with different pressures and angles, and most importantly of all, wash your nibs very thoroughly between projects. If ink dries in the nib crack, it ruins it and will ruin your artworks. You can soak them in alcohol if this happens, but it doesn't always get it all out. (Depends on the ink you're using, too.) Its looking great though!
I love the Majora’s Mask theme going on it is soo fitting!!!
The best (and only) tips I have for the ink pen is to be confident and fast with your lines, use smooth paper and keep a lighter on hand in case the ink around the tip hardens too much
Honestly doing an inktober challenge for the first time, I feel like doing it in chunks is way easier than day by day.
When you pulled out the calligraphy pen set at 2:04 I need a dedicated video of you two trying calligraphy/fountain pens episode, I love to see you try those with various ink colours 😍
While I am sad, that Emily will probably not do a sketchbook tour
... This is like, a channel, practically dedicated to doing inktober monthly. So it makes sense for the inktober content to be here
Wait why wont she do one?
I have a fear of dying too. People say its natural and all that but the thought that i cant do anything and having no consciousness forever makes my stomach drop. Sometimes I cry about it.
I swear that for a whole week after the I hate traveling video was made, I could not sleep normally and my brain made up itches all over my body (not a good idea to watch it just before sleeping). And now this video reminded me of that and now impending doom is approaching...
22:07 The word you're looking for is personal fable! It's when adolescents believe they're unique and life problems don't affect them.
0:27 its Jibanyan from yo-kai watch
SUMMONING CHARMING🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
i love this channel so much emily and daidus are just naturally entertaining together
I loved Daiduses Insomnia drawing, definetly my favorite so far 🙏
I can confirm, I was peacefully drawing along with y'all and suddenly I was startled by the pig noises 😂🐷
So glad your video popped up on my feed just now 🥲 Was feeling poopy but you guys’ energy and drawing lifted my spirits! Thank you for making this channel ❤
In escape rooms I am the person who thinks things are more complicated than they are XD
Me and my friends went to a mad scientist one and there was a balance and I was like "oh! Yes! A traditional balance with weights! I'm sure this will have a specific weight which has a relevant use!" and "oh, a chemistry book in a puzzle about a chemical formula? So fun! Time to study chemistry!" and "oh, yes, a numerical value in this calculator. This must be a very important number and absolutely uses the same cyfer from before!"
I was very frustrared XD
I feel like an Adopted Child hearing an old married couple arguing? 😭🌸
Current art student! I’ve used ink+fountain pen before for a drawing class, and I still don’t know too much about it, but I think diluting your ink in some water to create washes would be cool to add to these pieces (although I recommend doing the washes first and letting it dry before doing the lineart of your work, cause in my experience the water tends to make the lines bleed). Also just keep in mind how much ink you’re putting onto the tip each time, cause too much can cause it to drip and leave big splotches (speaking from experience lol). But you seem to know a lot about it already so I don’t feel like there’s much to say, beautiful artwork as always!! :)
I'm so excited, I don't want to self promote on someone else's channel but Im gonna start my TH-cam channel soon, I'm currently in the process of editing my first video, and I just really wanted to share it with Diadus and Emirichu, I really was hoping a spilled ink episode would drop while I edited, and you guys never disappoint!!!!!!!!! Thank you🙂↕️
@@Chanchito-to3ur I hope your channel will do well! Looking forward to see what you'll do.
@@TheAnarchy13 thank you so much😊 but I'ma have to pull a Ging freecss and tell you to try and find me if I do become popular😭 cuz my TH-cam channel is a different account from this one😅
Can’t wait to check it out!

30:17 SPILLLED IIIIIIIINKKK ✒️✒️
I'm doing this inktober and damn, it's being great ngl.
It's being so nice doing something daily and it going smoothly kinda, and it's my first one actually!!!
This channel has been a great addition to my weekly routine and im deeply grateful for you guys doing those funny and juicy videos for us! (i was daidus deprived so this was awesome)
Might i say Trypophobia is no longer a Phobia because its not really something mental the Psychologists count, its just something people cant stand to physically look at
Exactly, it doesn’t really scare me or freak me out, it’s just “gross”
I remember doing a "half-marathon" Inktober once; for me, it was less about following the prompts and more challenging myself to draw and post frequently. I gave myself a few days head start since school would cut into my drawing time. Some drawings I wish I had more time on, and others I wish I didn't do at all, but by the last, 15th drawing I felt pretty proud of how much I got done.
Love the majora's mask moon in the thumbnail‼️‼️‼️ 🧡💜
Phobia is such a good prompt for inktober
Love the channel y'all. You're inspiring me to pursue drawing as a hobby despite not being good at it. Trying out Inktober, though I definitely miss a day here and there. Keep it up 🎉
I’m the type to like the mystery part of escape rooms but once something jumps at me I’m dead 😭 also loving the thematic music, so excited for Halloween
Hey Daidus, as a fellow Maine native, I take exception to that comment. I'm a 33 year old guy and I love to feel that comfy feeling that one gets when snuggling up with a big ol' puppy and a warm cup of hot coco on a cold winter night hahaha
Keep up the entertaining videos you two, I appreciate the good vibes
Is love using ink for when I draw. The tips that I suggest are that if you want to make an area darker, you can do crosshatching. That is basically making a lot of Lines and crossing them out and a checkered like pattern. Another tip is to add a bit of water to ink but not too much obvious. That way , it's a bit lighter , but not too.
30:20 Daidus screaming over there finally having been some spilled ink on the channel was easily the best moment in spilled ink history
Daidus really shining in this one woth his comic like illustrations
I loved the chaotic vibe of this episode.
I love how they used the moon from Majora’s Mask on the thumbnail! As a Zelda enjoyer any Zelda representation is appreciated.
MAJORAS MASK MENTIONED !!!🗣📣💨
Honestly, from memory, it's a very good piece! But gotta check that lore knowledge xd
Majoras mask is my favorite game of all time 💘
43:43 the mac and cheese looks like it could be moldy with all the dark spots so you could say that so it would count as horror
27:34 that Green Goblin guy is the best actor!
11:46 The moment I saw the sketch, I immediately screamed MOO DENG.
Inktober for me personally, I never get to finish em. I get a few days done, then I feel burnt out.. misses a few days, stacks em and then hate art for a bit.
20:20 -- Walrus and Gromit
25:26 -- Time for the meeting, apparently.
27:24 -- That's a foghorn.
28:47 -- It depends on what source of fiction / mythology you're talking about. According to The Odyssey, sirens would lure ships to be crashed on the rocks.
My main tool is the G-Pen. Getting rid of the storage oil is important. Either get some soap and clean it off, or if you have a lighter handy, simply heat the nib. Like two seconds if that is enough to get rid of the oil, and gives the ink a surface to cling to. The G-Pen is really flexible, for better or worse. Being light-handed will tamp down on unwanted bold lines and it's easier on the nib. Some psychos will use very fine sandpaper or an emery board to get the tip to the right level of wear, but you might introduce some grit into the ink. India ink is cheap, but it's also unforgiving and very runny compared to Sumi-e ink.

I feel like the most grotesque pieces of art are like the messy ones because when i saw him drawing that all my little yucky tingles started to tingle
YOOO 50 MINUTE SPILLED INK VIDEO FOR MY FALL BREAJ
Oh my god i love Daidus' Inkling version of him with that sticker!!
Emily having to leave an art thing for a Stardew Valley Concert is just such an Emily and even Sydney thing to do.
A lot of things happened in my life over the last decade and a bit, and I had not been drawing like almost at all, compared to when I was younger. Recently I've been, slowly trudging along and sort of getting back into the swing of things. Helped a fair bit by the support of the love of my life.
This year is my first ever Inktober that I'm not just jokingly attempting. Of course, I'm keeping to mostly practice, more sketchy drawings, trying not to spend more than an hour or so on it, so I don't just burn out by the end of the month. I've been using your prompts, and I haven't missed out a day so far. Though, funnily, I did end up drawing both day 1 and 2 on the same day. Since I woke up and decided myself to attempt it only on the 2nd.
I'm not too bothered with if I'll make it to the full on end, because all in all. It's still so far the longest continuous bout of daily practice I've had in quite a very, very long time.
Emily, take a minute or two, add a couple of pebbles and texture to that path on the curiosity picture. With a bit of tweaking, you'll be able to turn that spilled drop into a feature, that should help you to love the piece a little more despite some of its flaws! Don't beat yourself too hard over 15 minutes drawings!
Thanks you two for being your fun and inspiring selves!
nice when emily drew that stick but with their mascot was soo cute😍
17:40 lol that sounds like an amazing comedy sketch
(Also yesss pinniped drawn for rotund day)
Another Friday, another Spilled Ink
Daidus your talking about sirens (they’re half shark )
RAD! Please draw ya self in Amphibia style?
24:39 I don’t do drugs casually (DONT DO DRUGS KIDS!!) BUT I have done ketamine treatments for my depression so I CAN kinda answer Daidus’ question and the answer (for me and my body at least) is: yes.
I’m being safely monitored by nurses when I’m doing a treatment, but I’m in a relaxing room. However people moving quickly will startle me. If I’m asked a question it will take me a moment to turn my head. My speech is slower and sometimes slurred. If people walk TOO fast I sometimes don’t register them as having walked by at all. One time my sister had to rush out of the room to use the restroom. She left so suddenly and even though she told me where she was going, my mind thought she disappeared in thin air and I started crying because I didn’t know where she’d gone LOL! I also walk slowly, but I’m also pretty dizzy so a nurse will walk me to the restroom and back. But I walk kinda robotically in an attempt to feel in control of my limbs. Being high is definitely an experience 😂
When it comes to using dip pens, I've personally found glass pens to be the easiest!
A calligraphy nib only allows for strokes in a specific direction. With glass pens the nib is round and can work like any pen! Theyre also very pretty
I love putting these on in the background and using some of these activities with my friend (the swapping art style was uh…an experience [she wanted to punch me cause she has such a detailed style and I’m so cartoony])
Idk who said whiplash was inaccurate to Daidus, but they need to rewatch it. Miles Teller knew how to play drums and did all the on-camera drums himself, and J.K. Simmons has a degree in music and is trained to conduct.
TLDR: Whiplash is a great movie
Ty guys for being my motivation to get up and take care of myself ^^
The ichika tanghulu, plz be a collab cafe menu
We shall now chant the lamentful phrase of our artist senpai...*inhales contemplativly, focuses, exhail together*..."AHHHHHH DOOOOD!!!!!!"
42:47 i could tell what it was!! :D
I could listen to you guys talk for hours
Wow, you both are so so talented! Diadus… your insomnia was AMAZING! Emily, I loved your ocean! So creative! 😊Thanks for sharing!
Emily suddenly raging harder than that middle strawberry betwixt those other two strawberries on an apparent stick was the last straw(berry) for every strawberry.
Can't believe they inadvertently referenced the show Day 5 for day 5 with insomnia
What a way to kick off Halloween season! Can't wait for the rest! Also, major props on using Earthbound spooky music! 🎶
YEAHHHH!!! THE GOATS.. or squids? ARE BACK!!!
Berries are my favorite fruit 💙🫐 I LOVE all blueberry flavored things!
7:57 something that helps me is holding the ink pot while inking :D easy to re dip and if your inking outside
For the record, i knew it was Mac and cheese!
That walrus is gunna be in my dreams tonight.
I’m falling behind in Inktober 😭 4 days behind already
I was screaming after the spilled ink in curiosity to make the drop paw prints!!!
these videos make my day every time, i really like drawing along with them
I love seeing people's InkTober art. The most I've done was up to day 5 then I give up. Every year I say that I will try the whole 31 prompts but still give up not even half-way. I considered inking my drawings with dip-ink pens but then instantly remembered the last time I tried to ink a drawing with it.. (The drawing was ok, my desk and shoes however weren't..) I've been sketching them with highlighter and inking it with a black pen.
OMG everytime Daidus said "Horror" i just heard "Hore" 💀💀
Yo with the medium they r using, Daidus's version of the prompts really slaps x10 😎😎😎. I guess horror mood really does make great atmospharic filter to things
As a huge zelda fan, the skull kid and majoras mask made my heart happy lol
The way you hold the pen affects the difficulty, with fountain pens it's generally considered that holding it at an acute angle ( 45 degrees ) is the best way, but you can experiment if you want and find your own sweet spot for how you hold it. The 45 degree angle is mostly for if the pen has a cartridge for the ink rather than using an external inkwell, I think.
daidus's indomnia drawing reminded me of something! there is a bug that is called the tsetse fly that carries a parasite that has an effect similar to the "insomnia maggots." in the first stage of the illness (called sleeping sickness/african trypanosomiasis), it will make you extremely anxious, not hungry, have a fever sleepy during the day, and insomniac at night. In the next stage -- you may have sezuires, hallucinations, and extreme anxiety. it makes you're sleep and waking cycle reverse and and can put you into a coma, and then eventually kill you. But there are treatments which is good! and it is most common in sub seherin Africa.
