There are some very cool things about this Hulk-smashing platformer, but it ends up feeling somewhat hollow - see the video description for time codes!
1:10 I gotta say, these are some tough enemies. Any machine that can withstand _five full-strength Mortal-Kombat-style uppercuts from the friggin' Hulk_ is a thing that I would not want to mess with.
I missed this, and games like these so much! Man, when he transforms and grabs the pill to max out and his roar brought back so many memories lol! I loved it! Thanks a bunch for uploading this and the playthrough
I never knew you could turn into banner willingly just that one part at the beginning where the game forced you to and I thought "well this is a waste of a mechanic"
I haven't reached to the end, so I'm glad seeing the final stage. Thank you for sharing. And too bad, if Hulk has his own MCU trilogy this "stage" would high likely be seen.
Now this is the one i rene-remember sorry type that in wrong but yeah got that right that time around but all i can say is that i had this game too(back then lol)
I remember when me and my cousins would play this game and he would always do the avocado and with each other because we would go don't ever touch the green dude
The Hulk does indeed jump around a lot, but i think if they just included a block button it would have been more fun. Either way, a hack exists to make this game a little more fun
Probe again they where God's they must have had a bigger development than than Sega and Nintendo combined. They often developed over 30 games at once without issue.
@@king__iopa6841 Eventually found it, it's just that it fails most of the time and I can't get it to work anywhere near as well as in the video. The controls are so bad. There's this weird delay in them, but they need to be on the millisecond for timing to actually use. Just like those freaking jumps on level 5. At 35:10 or so, that platform? It actually drops you before it even turns if you are just running across it in normal Hulk or Banner mode. 35:30 is nearly impossible, it's the most painful set of jumping I can recall in Sega, falling onto one of those stunlock light pads.
Don't think I ever played this one as a kid--my memories of Marvel Genesis games would be Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety. I have to wonder if it would have been better if you could just really smash stuff up and have the level tiles and sprites show destruction as you do it, to literally give Hulk's attacks and heavy girth some weight. It's great that Hulk can grab guys by the throat, though. Still, I'm surprised how many hits those dweebs can take! Also LOL at 5:00, just some random guy firing a cannon at Hulk.
I think the mistake the devs made was to make it a platformer - Hulk should be smashing more than jumping! Also, big mistake locking his best abilities until you're on full energy - without the dash attack it's really difficult to take enemies down quickly enough without sustaining more damage. I spent most of the game really wanting to like it more than actually did, which is a shame.
The thing I like about this game is the whole mechanic of transforming between Bruce Banner and the Hulk. It's actually a really interesting dynamic that I haven't seen used in too many other Hulk games. I guess I can understand why, though - nobody really buys / rents an Incredible Hulk game to play as Bruce Banner. And the way it's used here doesn't make a whole lot of sense and doesn't really add anything to the game, but I still say the idea as a gameplay mechanic has potential.
@@CopiousDoinksLLC Agreed. I wish you could change between Bruce and Hulk at will though, instead of just having to stand around and take damage. I guess they were trying to take into account comic book lore but from a gameplay perspective it holds the game back a bit, IMO. I do like the fact that at his most powerful you can do the thunder clap move.
@@victorianjoku2194I'm guessing the "Lmao" part of my comment was missed, otherwise you might have known I was taking the piss out of how crap this game was.

Sir?
You owe me a reply to my email I sent you yesterday.
Ristar megadrive Longplay pls :)
Once I saw developed by probe after what they did with mk1 and mk2 🤢 no game should have had the unfortunate luck of being handed to probe.

Clicked like immediately. NOSTALGIA WILL NEVER GET OLD! I LOVE THE 90S SO MUCH

how do you transform and untransform bo hulk with a full life bar? i play on mega drive and my buttons are A, B, C
Pause and press c
Definitely reckon some of the clever folks who were in on the Altered Beast Team had a hand in this too...

Bruce/Hulk is one tough cannonball with a determined mind

The Hulk has never felt more wimpy than in this game. Playing through this game recently felt like a chore. lol
Interesting gameplay
Bruce Banner got hops.
Easily one fo the better Marvel games on Genesis, and notably not by Acclaim.
What great memories my God! It was this game, spider-man vs kingpin and the uncanny x-men on my sega genesis.❤️🥹
When Bruce banner tells you to leave him, alone you leave him alone

The enemies move really fast and take more hits to kill. That’s pretty much it.
