Fun fact: the 5 solid blocks in 8-3 are equal to 8-1. The only difference is visual. In 8-1 each block has blocks until the end but technically it is the same precision to pass both sessions. The devs really knew how to create an illusion of difficulty
World 8 is harder, but 6-3 is the hardest PLATFORMING stage. Which is the theme of the video. Actually, 8-3 is one of the easiest platforming in the later stages, there are not many jumps
That final race against the wiggler is so far my least favorite level. I beat it, letting me get to the secret world from that area but that level sucked… and yes I know climb to the best exists but I haven’t even attempted that yet.
What just got me is the fact that, there are people who weren't alive yet when the first Mario game came out, that could have grandchildren who are playing the latest Mario game...
I know a lot of people really like the sunshine levels that don't have FLUDD but I simply cannot agree. the game is clearly not meant to be played that way, the physics seem wack on their own
Thank you for bringing up Outrageous in SMW. That’s the only level in the entire game I still sometimes struggle with. Tubular is a cakewalk. Yeah, I said it.
One honorable mention about 3D Land would be Special 7-4. You have a giant cosmic clone following you as you are traversing across flip panels. Without a Tanooki leaf, you have to constantly plan out your next move to avoid getting cornered by the clone.
I’ve been playing through this game lately, and you’re definitely right about that. It’s not that bad if you have a Super Leaf or if you’re not going for the Star Medals, but it took me probably around 30-35 tries to get all three of those without a power-up.
@@bdt2002gaming Same here. The stiff 3D physics and depth perception always gave me the most trouble with 3D Land. Especially with any level that pressures you.
Same. Completing Path of Pain and then playing a bunch of Celeste makes Wonder seem so easy. I got super annoyed with the little douchebags encouraging you the whole time.
@@ianbent0n Sure! If you’re looking for the same type of difficulty, I’d say try out the super meat boy series Some other ones I’ve played that retain some of the difficulty and has a good story are ori and the blind forest, and ori and the will of the wisp…other than that nothing else really comes to mind…maybe rayman legends?
Climb to the Beat, the second Special World level in Wonder. Didn't matter how many times I tried, if I wasn't absolutely frame-perfect in my movement, that was it, I was gone. So many lives lost... I gave up and cheesed it online, and even that took some doing and cooperation!
Well I don’t think it really counts as platforming if you fly over all the platforms, and I don’t think you can afford to even stand on a single one without p balloon because getting another one is almost definitely impossible
@@maxwellmegagamer8535 That was my thought as well. It's almost like a tougher, more strict underwater level than an actual platforming level, although you can beat it as if it were more of a platforming level using a blue Yoshi.

I feel like you should have included RPG in this one. Platforming is not a big part of it, but when it's included, it can be very tricky with the 2.5-D environment of the game.
I can't remember which level it is, but there's a level in 3D world where to get a green star, you have to use bullet bill launchers to bounce of the bullets with a cannon on your head to get on top of the wall. the cannon will often destroy the bullet bills, and the platforming itself is pretty precise.
I agree that Luigi's Purple Coins is the hardest in Galaxy, but I think Battle Station's Purple Coins in Dreadnaught Galaxy is worth mentioning. You're not allowed to miss a single coin, which is very easy to do due to its auto scrolling nature.
Wait, did you actually not mention the lilypad level in Sunshine? I don't even mind the pachinko level when compared to that one. Tubular also warranted a mention.
The Fluff Puff Peaks special (I forgot what it was called) is the hardest level in the game (yes, even more difficult than the Badge Marathon) and should be burned in Mount Doom.
