The coolest thing about the Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World is that Nintendo actually tweaked the game and gave Luigi a unique sprite instead of just being Green Mario in SMW like the original release
It’s funny, Super Mario Deluxe on the gameboy was the first time I ever beat the game. We had an NES when I was little but it was mainly my dad’s, so I never really got to play it much. Ended up getting that game from a friend and it was my first true Mario Bros experience.
At 11:07 you mention the game Nintendo World Cup. I just wanna say that game is under rated fun. It's been bundled with other games, the one I played was with a separate volley ball game. You wouldn't think a sports game, let alone one on the NES would be any good, or only fun to sports fans. But that little soccer game had me dying with laughter with my friends. You can see from the few seconds of footage they already kinda look cute, well you can kick each other, and when you do their eyes pop out like a cartoon. Doing it to your friends or even teammates is hilarious. If you manage to land a power kick, the ball itself can shoot across the screen and with the right rng, every one in its path gets bodied even the goalie. Anyone who likes old retro games, it's worth at least 45 minutes of your time.
yeah, it is a really fun cartoon football game... you can play on ice, dirt, grass, and with random rocks lying around that you can trip over.... and I think you have 5 super kicks per half, with each team having their own unique one... and when I first played it back in 92' I always played as Cameroun for some reason....
Vs Super Mario Bros came out before the Lost Levels. So Nintendo made 6 new levels for Vs Super Mario Bros, which were then reused for the Lost Levels.
@@WTheW_gaming Yes, that's correct. Many people - particularly those young enough to have grown up with the slang term - don't realize that it's a written abbreviation (hence the period). Their interpretation is analogous to pronouncing _Dr. Mario_ as _Der Mario._ If I seem pedantic, it's because I am.
I remember the NESticle emulator was out around 97-98. Took Nintendo almost a decade to realize they could take the old files and sell them to us again.
You missed the nes world championships for switch Also, in your entry for Mario deluxe, how could you not mention the red coin collection? That unlocked the lost levels for the game
0:48: Actually the other way around, since you showed them in opposite order. 12:24: I didn't have that either, I owned the original Super Mario All-Stars for SNES, but not the Mario World version. Probably because I already owned Super Mario World on its own.
4:40 - not sure where you got "4 bit graphics" from? 4 bit = 16 colors, and on the Game & Watch there are only two colors: on and off (1 bit). The background does add a bit more detail, but it's just printed and put behind the display.
Aw man, I really wanted you to talk about Super Mario Bros. Special for the PC-8801. Seriously, it's so laughably bad and would have been a nice inclusion here for sure.
It's actually not a minus world. It's the space world. Normally you play world 1 to 8. But these characters are replaced by space. Space as the key on a keyboard and not that vacuum outside our planet :)
I had the super mario bros with duck Hunt...and im from canada... i was sure it was the same for all when i was young and i still have super mario bros deluxe for gb

I was about to comment the same, as soon as I heard “just a soccer game”. That was an amazing title, also had it on GB.

Was it before the actual SMB 2 Japanese release?
@@yungsagegaming8577 Yes, Vs came out March 1986, SMB2 Japan in June.
@@ElectriKong- That’s crazy and something most wouldn’t know
You should do unofficial ports and reimagining like smb1+ and super Mario bros special. Also do version vids for smb2, smb3, etc.
Thank you for pronouncing the game's title correctly. Nowadays, it's a genuinely pleasant surprise.
It really doesn't matter. lol
@@Infindox It's a pet peeve, to be sure.
You mean "Bros" instead of "Brothers"?

That 3 in 1 cart with Nintendo World Cup was a part of NES Super Set bundle. Btw the World Cup game is great and has one of the best soundtracks.
Still can't believe Super Mario Bros. is 40 now.

Great videoc c c 💪 Mario is give years over than me, damn I feel old
Never knew there were so many different versions of the game
VS SMB was released on the Switch Shop in 2018 I think, so that’s a release you forgot
It’s a port so makes sense why he didn’t include it.
Aw man, I really wanted you to talk about Super Mario Bros. Special for the PC-8801. Seriously, it's so laughably bad and would have been a nice inclusion here for sure.
Everything I put it was labeled as an official version by the Super Mario Bros wiki, I didnt even know there was more!?
13:02 - 13:08 That was Limahl's "Never Ending Story" playing.
Also, Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out in 2008, not 2006.
26 seconds ago and no views. Wow, I'm early for once. Neat video by the way but not surprising someone as famous as Mario is on so many systems.

Good vid. For some reason I find it fascinating, the little differences between every version of the game.

I had Super Mario Allstars plus SMW.
35 versions and no unofficial Genesis port mentioned.
Please note he only mentioned official versions
I have the red Wii. 😁
I owned a red Nelsonic Mario watch as a kid and can confirm that it sucked.
sorry that you are broke
Broke in the more, I can’t afford a 800 dollar game type of way lol
