  • My camera comparison between the Sony Xperia 1 III vs the Apple iPhone 13 Pro.
Which of those is the clear winner? Does Sony even have a chance?
    Let's find out,
    Original photos: app.box.com/s/...
    What do you think?
Is the winner really leaps ahead?
Which one takes better photos? Has better colors? Takes better videos?

Sony colors much better. Close focus on wide-angle seems un-intuitive. Main cam same thing; Sony is better. On still photo, Sony appears to be more accurate on color balance based on your time of day description. Agree dynamic range is better on Apple. Apple wins the enlargement comparison. Perhaps the glare on the lens was a factor? Are you sure you had the same glare on the Apple lens? On closeup of railing, I like Apple better. Appears that Sony has better auto white balance in most cases. Apple better contrast and sharpness in most cases. I'd like to see this same set of scenes shot with the new Google Pixel 6.

    Very informative video 🤙
Watched it all the way. About the iPhones, every iPhone since the X has had that colour science. Almost like a trademark, iPhones have been "adding summer vibes" (yellow tinting) their images since the 6 compared to the competition.
The problem is within the HDR. The algorithm that is applied has a strange desaturation effect which removes a lot of the natural colours. The iPhone tries to artificially colour in the images from reference images(non HDR scene) but it often gets it wrong still.
I much prefer the colours of the SONY as well but overall I think with a sophisticated dehaze algorithm on the SONY will make the image much more pleasant, similar to the iPhone.
Overall, it is a victory for the 1iii. Congrats.
I think this was a superb video. Very objective and accurate descriptions. Good work 👍

Ein knapp 45 Minuten langer Kameravergleich? Nice!

Thanks for another great comparison. You're the second person to say that the 4.4x images on the Xperia Iii are not as sharp as the 4.4x images on the Xperia 5iii. GSMarena's review of 1iii also stated the same. I wonder what causes that as they both have the same camera systems.

I have watched a lot of comparisons of iPhone 13 pro but this seems the worst comparison I have seen. You are correct that iPhone 13 over-sharpened its photos but colors produced aren't off, in-fact it's a little oversaturated than it was with iPhone 12. And that video coming from iPhone that you've shown is the worst I've seen in all comparison that even my galaxy S10 would beat that. That pictures produced from Sony are very unacceptable from a flagship phone; clarity, sharpness and lowlight quality aren't present in that camera.

    • @lltechview
      @lltechview  2 ปีที่แล้ว
