First Cutting Alfalfa 2023!

First day swathing for 2023! I want to clarify that the storm showed a very small chance of rain which is why we were swathing. There was however a storm that rolled though the next day, and it went from a 20% chance to an 80% chance of rain, and it dumped rain for about 20 minutes which soaked the hay real well. The weather looks better now, so hopefully things dry out with no issues!

I feel like there's always a chance of rain in the forecast as soon as we cut hay. It makes it a gamble, deciding whether to cut or not, since there might not be any rain at all. So far we haven't got enough rain to ruin anything, just one quick storm when we first started, hopefully the nice weather continues!
