    I've always loved the smell of hay season...even when I was sweating and covered in dust putting it up in small bales..

    slow year well the first cut looks good it seams to make a nice swath it wilol be nice now if the sun comes out and dries it well keep up the good work thanks for the video

    We just finished our first cutting for custom hay. It was 95-100 the entire time we did hay in June. Kept having problems with ACs in our tractors. I think we’ve got it figured out now. But I’m wore out now.

    Exactly my old alfalfa has some blooms and my new stuff has next to nothing. But my baler is presently in pieces and I was waiting for parts. I have parts now but I can haul grain for the next couple days. Always something to do

    Haven’t had 3 days without rain yet this year in Manitoba hay looks great but most is under water, gonna be another bad year can’t even get the first 15 acre field planted to wet

    Your Hay cutters look to do a real nice job! I love family farming operations where there are multiple generations working. My farm is on land that some of it has been in my family for over 100 years and we currently have 3 different generations active in day to day operations. I know family makes it hard sometimes but it also is what makes it work! Thanks for the video.

    You must be the neighbor that gets everyone else stirred up to cut hay!! Lol 😆. I’ve been resisting the temptation so far, probably crack on the weekend. Calling for showers tomorrow but we’ve missed most of this week while grimshaw and peace river get them.

    In my part of south central IN, a lot of us are looking at the possibility of a one cut season as hot and dry as it is (which isn’t typical for us on grass)

      Unless it's Alfalfa, red clover, or sudan, we only get one cutting in NW Oregon, just a lot less tonnage the last few years with the drought...

      @@donvoll2580 in my immediate area most guys are less than 20%. But I read a report today that said Manitoba is on average about 80% seeded. So far I’ve only put in about 15 acres of cover crops. My plan was for about 250 acres of covers, I don’t do any grain farming yet, all for cattle feed.

      It's late hay this year..usually by this time hay is just the right stage..but it's so young still

    A lot of big outfits use auto steer on their haybines and swathers..
    You have enough big flat fields, it would work great.

    Sure wish that i had 1 of those hay combines , not the red 1 tho, its pretty noisy . Glad to see you started . A slow start is better than a no start .

    What was the problem that the Case windrower was having last year? I know it was fuel related, but I don’t remember what the fix was.

    Lighter alfalfa and heavier grass makes for awesome calf feed...cows are the opposite...crops are looking good 👍👍

      Not really at all...I know of one person who has one cause he ships Timothy out of the country..but he's not using it now..bought 2 round balers

    Tyson, do you have a preference in machines? Honestly I've never seen the Case type cutter head. Seems odd to me.
