I rode the A816 from Oban to Inveraray in Sept last year with my daughter as pillion. Best road I have ever ridden, it was epic. I was on my 1250gsa. 👍🏻😮😀

Ah, the old keyless start. A poor solution nobody asked for to a problem that didn't exist. Still, that area is awesome. Made me whistful all over again. Thanks Kate.
@@benkelly2190 The problem with keyless is that you can potentially start your Bike up then absentmindedly put the fob down and ride off without the fob. You will only discover you've forgotten the fob when you stop the Bike and then try to restart it. By this time you could be 150 miles away from the fob. This happened to Doodle (Doodle on a Motorcycle TH-cam). Luckily a very helpful good Samaritan ran her back to where she last had it. With a conventional key this wouldn't have happened.
The bane of all ... key-less systems. It got Doodle on a motorcycle for an hour backtrack to retrieve one from a petrol stop. Another fun outing on curvy asphalt. The question is: Did Kate get her tea and cake.
Can't believe you didn't stop for haggis in Oban! :D It is a really impressive bridge that, the architect who designed it also designed Tower Bridge in London too! 🙂

Time permitting you guys really should have stopped on the main drag in Oban , its absolutely cracking . I remember going there about 2006 and expecting not very much but 4 of us ended up staying there overnight ( seperate rooms lol ) , but yeah it is a lovely little town with more going on in the evenings than you would expect . We took the dolphin/seal trip too which was a great afternoon out ... ahhhh the memories hehe . Another tip top vid tho 👍
Always good to keep your distance or you'll have a well stone chipped bikes(s). Does seem as though you ride close but that may also be the camera. Chillacks babes and hang back, ride your own road. There you go, a little advice from a fellow biker looking out for you, take care 🙂 ❤ Looked like a fab ride, good roads and weather too!
I do ride close to Mike when we get on fun twisties, I'd like to say I'll change but I enjoy it too much 🤣 don't ride this close to anyone else though 👍🏻 the weather was great! Only about 3 bad days out of 8!

When you started this trip heading for the NC500 I thought like most you are bypassing some of the best biking roads, little did i know you had done your homework. The A816 is amongst the best, my favourite anyway, perhaps followed by the A93 through Glenshee. The road surfaces are not as good as europe but as you said they are grippy, just like us Scots i guess😉
yes chippings off the road busting your camera lens, the perils of closely following another vehicle (which you sort of do from a videoing point of view)
Aye, whether people agree with it or not, it's just how I like to ride with Mike 😊 not had a chip on a camera in the many years I've ridden with him but these things happen occasionally, justbdodnt realise that on the gopro 9, you can remove and replace the lens! As you couldn't on the earlier ones. Everyday is a school day! 🏫

Haha I know what you mean, mike's the only person I follow this closely. It's weird, it's let telepathy but yes abit more breathing space is never bad! I really enjoyed the R1250GS but this was back in July and I ride my 1200 now. Enjoy them both, just personal budget (justification) wouldn't allow for a 1250 lol
Mike must think he on a race track. Overhanging the white line and almost rear ending the pick up truck put me on edge. My friends ride like that I don't really want to join them anymore. Ends up risking my license and using a lot of fuel. I just like to chill out now when I ride.
A stone cracked it in one of the previous vids but the subscribers spoke and asked me to still upload. If you've not seen the previous ones, I can understand the confusion lol
I think we have total different definitions of safe, 15:40 was perfectly safe in my eyes, else I wouldn't do it. I just don't bimble on my overtakes and try to get back into my lane back where it's safe. Can't agree with you on your points I'm afraid but thanks for watching 😊
Not to concerned about the overtake, but you tend to ride far to close to the bike in front, I tell my students a 2 second gap and you are well under that a lot of the time, just my opinion ride safe

Kate your always in a rush to over take just be careful. 15:40 a dangerous over take ok for one bike but for two onto an on coming bend come on.
