Time flies so fast that xeon 2640 v3 is $5-6 USD ! If you can stretch your budget better get ryzen 2nd gen and a used a320m.. I was aiming for 1st gen and a320m build but its hard to find used motherboard in my country.. So i ended up with x99. For the cost of cheap x99 motherboard you can get a ryzen 2600/3500

Where do you find E5-2630 V3 for half the price? Everything I see on AliExpress and eBay is either E5-2630L V3, this is a low power chip with turbo boost up to 2.9 GHz or Engineering / Qualification Samples, these chips do not support turbo unlock and may fail to work on Chinese X99 boards at all.

@@Miyconst ah ok... I just got a 1650 v3... After watching serval of your videos comparing them I've come to the conclusion that I'd be better off with a 16xx rather than a 26xx . I want to pay cod warfare occasional (have a second pc with a 9600kf and 5700xt) but mainly use it for editing game recordings. So while a 8 core or even 10 core would have been better I don't think I need.mlre.than 6 cores 12 threads even for editing. And if it struggles I can get a 2640 for £50 to see if it's the CPU that's slowing me down.. I mean currently the 9600kf (6c6t) isn't doing a bad job.
me again XD assume you can run normal ddr4 ram, and itll just run at the speed dictated by the cpu. for example the 1650 v3 is 2133 as i have 16 gb (4x4gb) 3000hz rram
E5-1650 V3 is an unlocked CPU, you can overclock RAM with it, using Chinese X99/C612 motherboards you can get DDR4-2400, with branded motherboards it's up to DDR4-3200.
@@Miyconst thanks, i got the pc together, but the bios isn't like the one ive seen you show, also while in xtu i can run 4,3ghz at 1,25v and can happily apply that every time and game on it, as soon as i set that in the bios that doesn't work and wont boot, even if i adjust the clock speed what's so ever in the bios i get a black screen now im wondering if its best to sell the mother board and cpu on or keep looking in to the issue
@@matk22 Well.. (if I remember correctly you use Huananzhi X99) it seems like you have got an "updated" BIOS, which doesn't support overclocking. You have to rollback to the original BIOS which worked with overclocking or you can attempt to use the iEngineer option.

@@Halfpirate gaming experience is delivered by a PC, not by a single component. You need a balanced gaming computer with fully functional individual components. You can get the latest i9 and install a crappy GPU or do the other way around, then you will get stutters and frame drops during gaming. It also up to the game to properly behave, some games are just so poorly optimized, that it does not matter which hardware you use, framedrops will chase you through entire gameplay.

I Really doubt that Chinese manufacturers bothered to use the latest microcodes from Intel. Also, using the latest patched BIOSes on branded X99 motherboards disable overclocking abilities, which is a real hiccup. In this case the limit is probably the GPU. So the CPU model doesn't matter so much. More or less, you get the same results.

Definitely not possible. The motherboard won't burn up, but it will just crash out.

As far as I know T5810 supports non-ECC memory with only one specific and old BIOS, the latest BIOS works with ECC memory only.

If you want to overclock your CPU to 4.1 GHz you need to increase the voltage, not to decrease, thus it's overvolting, not undervolting.
Like to see 1650 v3 and 2640v3 against 1650 v1 and 2690 v1 etc. Be interesting to know how much better these Haswell xeons are!

so the xeon isnt worth it if the driver keeps getting uninstalled
It is, because there is another method which injects the driver into the BIOS, this way Windows can't uninstall it.
