I'm glad your video popped up. I have a very similar ac unit and it's a Frigidaire. I started unwrapping it this morning but had to stop and mow my yard. I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to put the sides on the unit and I'm glad you showed how to do it. Good for you for installing the unit yourself. I'm a woman too and I think the ac unit I have is about the same size as yours. It will just be my luck that my ac unit will fall out of the window. I'm installing it on the first floor though.
thank you for this video. i was putting this exact model into the window for my mum and i had a heck of a time with it so i decided to watch a video on it. i must admit, i struggled a lot more then you did lol. you,re very strong . good job.
I couldn't figure out how to get the side panels on. Lol. So easy. Thank you. 🙏 As a single mom, I put mine in all by myself as well. But this time I got a 10000 BTU and it's hella bigger than my others. 😂
Great tutorial video and I love your accent! I just got the 5000btu unit and am getting ready to TRY and hook it up. I live in a incredibly outdated and pretty much dilapidated house that does not have central air or air conditioning and the swamp cooler we have broke down several years ago. Last summer it got 114 degrees in the house and I thought my disabled mom and I were gonna die. The problem is our house doesn't have 1 normal window that opens straight up & down, instead all the windows open outwards with a crank/handle so I'm hoping to jerry rig this thing by balancing it on the window seal & a big garbage can while using tape & cardboard to cover any openings so we can at least have 1 cool room this summer. I commend anyone for reading this rant and apologize for how long this comment is. I'm just frustrated and quite frankly scared of this upcoming summer and very envious of people with good houses and normal windows. I wish everyone all the best of luck in this world and hope all your dreams and aspirations come to fruition.✌
Jason, I am sorry to hear that 114 degrees in the house is just crazy! Good luck with the installation, seems like you already figured out a way to install this on a casement window!:)
Very nice video. That said, I do NOT like to tap into my window frames with screws as it's not needed. I use simple window locks to hold down the slider window and these locks do not need to screw into the window. Look for window security window locks. Also, I don't use the side curtains as they let in too much noise and heat through the thin plastic. I use the 4" thick pool noodles that I cut and fit to size. THey are very easy to work with and great for insulation. I really like Frigidaire brand as I fund them durable and long lasting. EDIT: forgot to add that I use a small size pool noodle (split) as a base for the unit to rest on. It gives a excellent seal and does not damage the window sill. Just cut to the correct width. Easy
Great work Tuba got to take off my hat to you .I'm a maintenance Mechanic and seen lots of video on how people do things. Once again great work. God bless
Great review, An easy explanation to understand!! What I like the most about this AC unit is the light feature, where you can turn off the unit display at night when go to sleep 😴 that display light on is annoying 😁before had to cover it with something…not anymore 🙌
Thanks very much for the demonstration Tuba! I had done this before a few years back for my Mom, but it was super helpful to be reminded; I was able to proceed with confidence. Cheers!
Oh, I meant to say how impressed I was with your strength! These things aren't very lightweight for sure. . . the window I put it in was designed specifically for an air conditioner, so it's more narrow than a regular window. Getting that thing situated was a little tricky to finesse, as you mentioned, but MUCH better than the old behemoths I used to handle!
thank you tuba, i was nervous and at first attempt had cut my fingers on the back and was having trouble, thought i would have to get outside help, but with your help I figured it out. thank you :)
Thank you so very much for posting this. I am going to have to install one of these units (same brand and style but 12,000 BTU) and honestly was stressed to the max. Now I think I can handle it lol ❤
When you turn it off and turn it off, does it remember the last cooling temperature set or do you have to manual bring it down from 72 degrees each time you turn it on?
my unit has the controls at the left side up an down,It cools like cold alaska,,great,,exc should water being swished around inside be draining off outside?
I havent set mine up yet this year but I dont remember hearing anything like that! I was actually impressed by how quite it was! I would call the customer service!
Good question! I had no idea it showed C! But, it is easy to change. You have to press down both temp up and down buttons at the same time and hold it for 3 seconds. I found this info on page 11th of the use and care pamphlet!
*THE FACT YOU WERE ABLE TO GET IT IN THERE ON YOUR OWN... IT'S A MIRACLE YOU DIDN'T GET IT DROPPED! GREAT JOB!*
calm down
