This is very very useful video - thanks. This saved so much time and effort rather than removing the drivers lower dash and/or the heater vent. Even the point of using the paper to guide the screws in helped. The screws themselves are at an angle to the light panel that was taken out. So its harder to use a single straight socket extension to unscrew them. Instead the video used multiple shorter extensions which allowed a better connection given the slight curvature of the arm. I used one that you can rotate that head to make it easier. Excellent job Sandy!
Great video I changed mine other day but there was a black plastic cover covering the right hand bolt.. a bit hard to access it .. finally done it. Your video was a great help
Just about to do this, car went into limp mode and diagnostic said pedal sensor. Thanks for pointing out that clip that has to be slid backwards, would never have seen that.
Thanks for video, made the replacing of the pedal that bit easier although I did have to remove the trim in the end as the right hand bolt was covered by a plastic tray like structure so needed to push it to one side with one hand whilst trying to get at the bolt with the other. Anyways seemed to cure the dreaded P2138 error. Trim was easy enough to get off but a real pig to get back in place.
Thank you for the great explanation, I have a Corsa 2017 and yesterday engine sign lighted and message said engine power is reduced, so I went to computer diagnostic and it said throttle acceleration sensor problem, but the shocking is when I went to buy it I got shocked how much it is, around 600$ , my question is do you advice to find used sensor or buy a new one 😫 Thanks
Good job and very well explained - couple of great top tips there that will hopefully save me stripping out stuff I would have if I'd not seen this. Cheers Sandy!
Thanks mate but i I have the exact same model corsa e 1.4 2016 but there is a box with wires infront of the pedal position sensor and i cant access the nuts to unscrew. I have remove the box itself but the box holder is still there blocking access to the pedal position sensor. If anyone can provide help please
Keep up the good work sandy it's them silly intermittent problems that blame a part and its not the part at fault keep in there sandy u best love the videos as u say and I say we are all learning everyday in this game 🙉😍👍
As a matter of interest Sandy i read online that post battery change out you can experience P2138 pedal code, did you try with engine off the reset of the throttle pedal sensor switch before pedal unit change out? Thanks
This has been really helpful, I have found that with a bit of contortion I can get to the pedal bolts up through the bottom. I have a question though - if we are talking that it could be a connector at the pedal sensor - could it not also be at the ECU end - thinking that the proximity of the ECU could also get a soaking when topping up the screen wash or similar? I'm no mechanic for sure, just thinking aloud!
My local parts dealer says he can deliver them from febi bilstein. Something tells me they are also supplier for original parts. Do you by any chance on your original part it also says febi bilstein?
Thanks - cleaned out throttle body of any carbon deposits, seemed to help but still fault recurred. Wiring seemed to check out ok. Fault slowly got worse and persistent. Finally went back to pedals, opened them and found old one had damaged electrical pickups on moving part, and the new one just needed to be centred slightly more at idle position to get consistent resistance readings along full length of travel. I should perhaps make a video and upload. Can't believe the pick-up isn't a replaceable part as it is obvious now as the weak part/ most likey to fail in the whole assembly, would take 10 mins to swap out in situ and instead have to throw away whole pedal unit.
Hi Sandy, I got the same code (P2138) on my Corsa E, but with a different description: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "D" / "E" Voltage Correlation. Do you think that replacing the pedal will fix that too or will it be a different cause? Cheers

Mine too geezer! It's a 17 plate and only happens through the winter. I'm guessing it would be more pointed towards the connector in this instance? Got hold of a cheap reader and now I know what the code is - this video has really helped!
@@harrybloomfield1836 I'm just going to take mine out for a spin. It's -1 so it days like these it goes on. I'm confused as to why it would only be cold weather that it happens. No one can really explain that to me.
@@harrybloomfield1836 Yeah, just took it out and it got a little bit forther than it usually does. But I know that it won't go again all day now. Something warms up and makes a contact better. It would be worth starting it and letting the engine idle up to a good temperature and then taking it out. I would say that doing that and if it is fine would rule out the throttle sensor? Do you find that once you are warmed up, the problem goes away?

No it's always pedal sensor
@@sandyande OK cool. I'm just really glad I found your post. I've saved money and learned along the way 👍
I’ve installed the new one but it is now sitting higher than the previous pedal. Do these require adjusting?
Hi mate. Got the throttle position sensor code the other night. I replaced my pedal today, Car still in limp mode tho. Any ideas?
My local parts dealer says he can deliver them from febi bilstein. Something tells me they are also supplier for original parts. Do you by any chance on your original part it also says febi bilstein?
Is it just a case of swapping over the parts or is there any calibration or settings to be made.
It’s just plug and play
Great video - it helped me replace on 1.3 diesel - but same errors came up with new pedal - any suggestions
ECU or wiring fault

Is there any form of coding necessary for this procedure? my pedal feels a bit funky.
No coding requiremed
Don’t suppose you have a part number for this. ?

a torx screw is hidden (the low one), how did you remove it? i have a opel corsa club 2011
The pedal in video has only 2 bolts, no hidden torx! Cheers sandy
sandy anderson mmm ok, but your new pedal in video has 3 hole for 3 screws, did you dismount 2 screw (Only top)?
@@marcolocci9542 yes only 2! The third is empty only for mounting purposes!
The right hand bolt on my Corsa was hidden by a plastic tray/mount. I drilled a 20mm hole in the tray to reveal the bolt and remove it.
My corsa has the same problem. Contacted Vauxhall and they’ve said it’ll cost £500 for it. Anyone manage to get one from somewhere else?
This part is a genuine Vauxhall part and it cost £100+ vat cheers sandy
Strange how they said it’s £500 for me 🧐. I’ll have to go down there and have a look then.

Aye could be. said to them for just the part.
