Anyone know what the WR is for making a checkerboard pattern?
Feliks zemdegs ves olor
I am pretty sure Brian has a 0.7 something..
5.28 seconds
Yes
I have the wr for the longest checkerboard
For some reason I love to do this. Even on big cubes like a 7x7, I'll randomly solve as a checkerboard once or twice a month and oddly find it really fun to solve
same
Did it to my gigaminx. Lots of fun.
I'm getting flexed on by all these comments ;-;
Same😂
I like to do that but with other known patterns, like that one that is kinda similar to this but the colors are rotated to the right (like, blue-red, red white and white-blue)
It's teacher's day in India.
So, Happy teacher's Day J perm. You have singlehandedly taught me 90% of speedcubing.. Enough that I'm now nearing my goal- sub 20. Thank you
Im indian too and he is a really good teacher for we cuber
I'm indian too and I just got my dream goal sub 14 :)
I am also 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thank you for thinking of me on teacher's day! And good luck on your goal :)
Wow...I'm also on my way to sub20 and most of the things I've learned are from JPerm. Best teacher.
I remember deciding to do this years ago back when there was no video about this at all at the time
I'd solve a scrambled cube into a checkerboard pattern, cube in a cube pattern, cube in a cube in a cube pattern, flower pattern
Glad to finally see someone else do this and I can't wait to see someone speed solve into more of those patterns :D
Looks like you have a challenge, and make npc solve a cube for a video ;)
Yeah everyone does it you're not special
Bee.
@@nadav2495 no need to be rude
hi
This challenge is actually really fun for practicing algorithms and noticing patterns, a couple of runs in and I'm really improving my times, to the point where it's around double the time of my normal solves!
Sometimes I like to scramble two cubes and then solve one into the other's scrambled state, it's similar to this but even harder, even if you do it multiple times you still have to relearn the solved state each time
I do the same, I’ve only been able to do it once
i love that
I actually do this semi-frequently. it gets my head working so I can't fully rely on muscle memory. You should try this with the super flip!
i do it with the donut holes, checkers? super flip and the one where all sides have + signs
@@necrobf.7517 I have a video like this 2 months ago i'm justslow at solvinh
I solved it with that once lol
I've done it with superflip
I really like the honesty, lots of people would have counted the "almost F2L" as legit.
J Perm: Try this challenge yourself!
Me: I do. Daily. For fun. Lol!
I remember doing this with my first cube, but instead of the checkerboard pattern, i solved it to an E2 move; i did it to get a better understanding of how algorythms works.
Happy teacher's day dylan! You helped me solve my first 3x3 :D
Lol.
Thank you!!
@@JPerm I want to wish you a happy teacher's day as well! You are one of the main reasons why I am at where I am right now in speedcuning.
@@JPerm :))
"Up next, solving 2x2 in a checkerboard?"
-J Perm at Patreon list
Why I get you once every 100+ solves
lmao I wish I could see you more often
No a 3x3 into a super flip pattern.
@@yingf5635 no, a 2x2 into a superflip pattern
Hi Dylan,
I started cubing about a year ago and can solve it in 30-40 seconds with a mix of CFOP and beginners method. I tried this and got 1 min 9 seconds. You have been such an inspiration for me. Thank you so much
I also use a combination of cfop and begginer and my pb is 1 min 6 and a half sec and my average is about 1 min 30 sec
@@MrNuttcase i do same and average is 1:13
Edit: btw what is pb
@Harrison Thayer ok thnx.In that case my pb is 53 seconds(I got a lot of skips in that solve)
“There’s so many pairs! How does this not happen normally?”
true words of a person who knows F2L
I’ve always enjoyed little alternate solves like this
For the longest time, I didn’t know how to do the cube in a cube or superflip patterns. Instead of learning, I’d just solve the cube into the pattern! It was fun!
Back when I was still really young and didn't know how to solve a cube, my dad actually does this from time to time as a challenge. One day, I took a solved cube and played around with it until I discovered the checkered pattern. My dad didn't know you could do that and he has been solving cubes for almost 30 years at that point.
I learnt 98% of speedcubing. You reduced my time from 2 min. To 15 sec. And I learnt 3BLD. Whenever I want to learn or be fast, it is in my muscle memory to click on your videos. Thanks!
I was literally trying this 2 days ago and I had the SAME strategy as you. We are either both geniuses or both idiots lol
Well i think this too at 3.15am lol
I did it today lol
J perm: "finding pieces is so hard!"
Beginner: i know the pain
Nice job! could you try this but superflip it next?
You should actually start a series about challenges like these.
Ye
Yes
Me : "What's more interesting than solving a cube in checkerboard pattern "..
J perm: " solving the cube in checkerboard pattern with eyes closed 🤓"!
I REMEMBER DOING THIS AND I WAS THINKING "WHAT IF JPERM DID THIS!!"
You should do this again but with other patterns such as the cube in a cube or the super flip
That one moment when Jperm is still faster than your PB when doing all these challenges
I never felt like memorizing the cube in a cube Algorithm so every time I wanna do it I do it like this. I have also done it with a 4x4 to make cube in a cube in a cube on it as a fun challenge and I think you should try it lol.
Haha I've done that many times! It's fun when you're a bit bored of doing the regular 3x3 but don't want to like, get up and grab another cube
J perm I can thank because he helped me start my channel thank you jperm
Jperm does do well
Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The fact that I got a ad of speed cube shop before this video makes it hilarious
I have actually done this before with a 3x3 and a 5x5 a few months back and it's kinda fun solving it in a different way.
In india we are celebrating happy teaher's day
teacher's day Dylan
Your are my best cubing teacher
You helps me a lot for being smart at cubing thanks🙏i
I used to do that with lots more patterns when I used beginning method lol
Now solve the cube in to the superflip
I did that and I successfully did it
It's actually pretty easy
I used to do that instead of memorizing the algorithm
*solves cube*
((M' U')4 x y)3
Done, end the video
Lol I'm just joking
This video was like "Alright what are all of the ways you can technically not cheat at this"
4 and a half minutes! This was such a cool and interesting challenge!!
Ah yes
Next: Solving the cube into a J perm position
agree
Yeah but it's just do a different pll rather than an entirely different solve
@Vansh Aggarwal No, that would be cheating.
We need this
What about solving a cube into a super flip state? That would also be interesting.
JPerm- No! Have Mercy!! Please
oh yes do that!
YES
I’ve done that before and let me just say even cross is almost pain
I did 46 seconds first try
If you didn't panic at 9:56, you could've just cancelled the U2 and M2 with a D2 and S2
It is so satisfying to watch you solve cubes. you should make a video where you just keep solving 3x3s with no commentary or challenges.
Hey JPerm! Just wanted to let you know that you got me into speedcubing and I’ve fallen in love with it. When I learned to solve 3x3 using your tutorial I tried solving it into the checkerboard pattern and had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for your vids!!
The best solve no cap
Fax
I solved a 7x7 into checker board and would recommend u try! Maybe even a bigger cube.. obviously it’s not too hard but it’s fun to time yourself to see
He's a cuber and Ting Man: *I am 4 parallel universes ahead of you.*
Lol.
"That's probably the most legit way I could have done this, by cheating"
-Dylan
"The most legit way I could have done this by cheating." Fire and gold mate 🤣
Solve a cube while having cross on top throughout the solve.
Been going for about a month, started on my friends GTS2 M that was 4 years (57 sec best) and now I decided to buy a GTS3 M, because I loved the GTS2, Thanks for the 37 second solve. Used all your tools to get there, now time to finish memorizing OLL.
I solved the cube into a checkered board with no CENTERS in something like 3 mins
For once i done something that jperm hadnt already done. Never would’ve imagined lol. Now If only i could find the discipline to get fast 😝😂
Your the best Rubik’s cube TH-camr ❤
So I've done this quite often as a challenge with my friends. While my average is around 22, I can do a checkerboard in 33 seconds with my Ao5. But that somewhat feels like cheating since I practiced it.
Recently I tried to calculate how many possible Combinations a 4x4 has. The Number I calculated was 4.066^41. I couldn't find any salutions on the internet so I ask if someone can proof if I am right or wrong. And please forgive me If my English ist not the best. I am from Germany
When Jperm get a better Time on a partern then you get a normal solve -_-
Ah yes
I want see how much people slower then J perm when solving to patern
Ur cube sounds so good ..it so soft and clicky
I'm just proud of myself for having learned to solve the Rubik's Cube, even with the checkerboard pattern although that's harder to solve.
You make the Rubik's Cube look easy to solve. One second you're figuring out the opposite side colors, next second several flips *solved!*
The first time you did it is how long it takes me to solve a cube normally
Same
Lol slow cubers together
Cool. Now do the checkerboard in a Gigaminx. (I actually tried it and it's possible, although it took me an hour in total)
7:24 "and then BP is bup"
Simpleflips would be proud...
This is how I solve cubes into cool patterns when I don't know the algorithms to create those patterns lol
I did one practice then one timed solve for regular then checkered. 55s & 2m02s respectively
It did mess with my brain more than I expected. Doing first layer then the second layer edges helped a lot. I liked doing the last layer, it was less difficult than the rest and that difficulty felt good.
I used to try to solve cubes in different patterns to see if they were possible but never tried to do it fast before
7:24 bup like the meme 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
happy new year🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ayyy I do this all the time, it's very brain boggling, I love it. Jperm = the best
u solving the checkerboard is faster than my normal solve time 😅😂😢
Fr tho 🥲
My new fav jperm vid
Cant wait for the video of solving it into the dot pattern
thanks jperm, it's a really fun challenge that i would have never thought of doing
me: hey mom can we get psuedo-slotting?
mom: we have psuedo-slotting at home
the psuedo-slotting at home: 3:46
7min 25sec, haha was struggling so much
Great challenge!
you said "I have an even better idea" and I thought you were gonna meme and show a solved cube into checkerboard, like you said you wouldn't.. lmao
Id like to see you solve a scrambled cube into just the centers out of place. I just did it on accident and it looks cool.
tried this. did it in 40 seconds my first try. i didnt watch any of the video before hand.... im the greatest human ever
oh hey! i thought of this same exact idea and tried it at school! it was fun!
Bro I did this as soon as I figured out how to solve a Rubik’s cube lol
You should solve a 5x5 into a checkerboard pattern! (Btw love ur vids)
Just did this today. Didn't know you had this video so that's cool.
I tried this and my strategy was to make a daisy with the edges in their opposite spots, then put the yellow corners in their right spot. For f2l I would have the edge and put it in the opposite colors it shows and it would insert checkerboard pairs. Then I would just try to make it so I would have to do an H perm. Also when you do the h perm when solving into a checkerboard you can save 2 moves by matching the corners up instead of making them opposite, you would do the h perm after matching them up and you won’t have to do U2
This challenge helps me warm up
I can actually do checkerboard solving at the same speed as my normal solve time, that being said, my normal solve time is between 40-50 seconds, with checkerboard being around 45-55 seconds. It is something I did a lot though, pretty much for as long as I have known how to solve a cube
i once decided to do it on my 5x5, worked out very well
This should be an official event :P
Omg I was literally thinking that jperm should do this challenge cuz I found it out while walking home and then this pops up in recommended
Yo bro I had this idea a few months ago and I was hoping a TH-camr would try to do it to because it’s a super fun challenge
I actually love this challenge!
Tryed it some time ago and its pretty fun
I have done this a lot of times very fun!
just tried this, it's a fun challenge!
Ive done this in 3 hours using the normal method of solving earlier and I can say that this is a coincidence for having this in my recommendation.
Funny thing is one day before this was uploaded I was in the car playing with my cube and I had the idea to solve the cube in a checkerboard pattern. The other day I was scrolling through youtube and got this vid recommended🙂
Before I knew I could make the checker pattern by solving the Rubix cube and then doing the 6 moves, I made it this way. I only figured out I could make it the easy way by wanting to make the same pattern on another 3x3 I had. I decided I would make as much of the pattern as I could and then finish the rest, but then I just made the pattern :D
Ive actually done this chalange a few times before dis video it was fun!!
I tried this and it was actually fun and easy to solve🎉
"Canadians have very good grammar"
1:21 lol
Thanks I tried this challenge it took 7:20 minutes in the first attempt and 3:20 minutes in the second
A while ago I thought of this challenge and thought it would be fun and now I do it all the time
yay i was able to do this by myself since it really is simple, just swap the white cross as yellow and move to opposite side, get f2l dorners good but the edges from the other side, oll is normal and also pll, then do h perm
i tryed this challenge once and it was absolute hell
I did it in 1:17, pretty cool quick little challenge
What about just making your own method to solve a cube
(But not using any perms from cfop)
J Perm - solve a cube to match a different shuffled cube. Maybe you've done this already, but I just did it and it was very difficult for me. It took me 16:49 instead of my normal 3:00 (I'm a noob still).
isolved it like that in 1 minute 32 seconds
me solving it to a cube in a cube in a cube pattern: *you have not gone through my pain*
