    I tried this challenge for myself and i only know the pocchman method, the beginner method, and cfop method, i tried this and did very terrible with a time of almost 5 minutes.
    My strategy was (the worst strategy)
    I solved first 2 layers with the beginner method and the last layer with the pocchman method. I will try with cfop + pocchman too.

    My wife loves your channel and got me interested. I can solve in less than 5 minutes every time now, with personal best of 3 minutes 9 seconds. The first two layers and the final corrections on corners are pretty straight-forward. Creating the yellow cross, getting the correct yellow edges, and getting yellow corners in correct position feel like acts of faith. I believe!

    Soon after I started 3x3 blindfold solving, I would goof it up and wonder what I did wrong. So I used what I memorized to put the cube back into its original scramble so I could retrace my steps again. I discovered the coolest way to get it back into its original scramble was to do the BLD steps in reverse. At first I did that with my eyes open, but later I decided it’s not so bad to do it in reverse with eyes closed.

    I know i am late, but another fun Challenge is to solve big cubes in "slices" (dont know how to call it)
    1. Take a big Cube (6x6+)
    2. Scramble by only turning the outer layer
    3. Scrable by only turning the outer and second outer layer
    4. Repeat till you scrambled the inner layers
    5. Solve the Cube using only 3x3 Algorithmus (including the layers)

    This is actually one of the first challenges I give to someone who is a cuber. Gives me an idea of how much they understand the algorithms. Now keep in mind I have not delved into the speed cubing realm at this time… I do more pattern cubing and haven’t really used anything but the beginner method. I did fail this challenge like the first 20 (exaggerated estimate) times I’ve tried it. The parts that I find the hardest were working just fine and the parts that I thought were easiest were giving me trouble.

  • @rowansradio09

    This is quite a challenge and makes your brain think in a whole lot different way. I tried about 20 solves or 'scrambles' and got 1 min 43 sec

  • @mathmachine4266
    @mathmachine4266 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I tried this challenge before. I didn't realize it was an event. My main train of thought was "Okay, wow, I can solve a rubik's cube efficiently now, I guess that makes me a master of the rubik's cube!....wait, no, I can only take a random scramble of a Rubik's cube, and change it to a solved state. I can't take a given scramble and change it to another scramble at will". So I decided to do just that. I originally started using F2L, but realized that it took way too long to find a specific pair of 2 pieces and determine which F2L algorithm was needed to combine them, so after my first F2L pair, I decided to just solve the rest of them with the beginner's method. Also, I don't think I started from a solved state, I think I just started from another scrambled state.
    In any case, I think the ability to complete this challenge (regardless of how long it takes) means you've truly mastered the Rubik's cube. :)

    Probably took me like 10 minutes to un-solve my cube to match my scrambled one. Now I'm just gonna leave them both un-solved because it was so much brain-confusion to make them match I don't want to mess up the... scrambled cube. I'm sure people won't believe me if I say they're solved, but they are I assure you they are!

    Solve a cube with 1 center "locked". Example: You can turn around any center BUT RED. Somewhat of a constraint for a regular solve.

      @natsugineo6695 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's easy, you just have to solve the cross in that color without using D moves and not using any f2l or alg that have D moves

    also btw as someone who's put a little bit of time into rescramble - backwards 3style is the lowest effort method if you're decent at 3bld - I got sub 30 at rescramble with next to no effort and was comfortably sub 25 in a few 100 solves

    At the end doesn't he mean "mean of 2" instead of ao2, since ao2 would remove the fastest and slowest times resulting in 0/0?

    • @ReirtoRRNTX
      @ReirtoRRNTX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well yes he mean Mo2
      Sometime people use Ao3 which still mean Mo3 but yeah using Mean of X more make sense

    Is it considered a "Good time" if I can solve a cube in 30 seconds if I only practised for 1 month?

    • @dmr778810
      @dmr778810 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Solving a cube at all is pretty amazing (to most people.) Though that is a good time for only one month. However, it is better to be effecient to be fast. "To be fast is to be smooth, to be smooth is to be slow." Make sure you work towards having little to no pauses, effecient F2L, and few regrips.
