This was very fun! I like just the 2 basic ones (checkered and dots)!
To get the checkboxes on the 3x3, you also can do: M2 E2 S2
That's how I do it
@@Jakey398 that's how almost everyone does it 👍
i mean its intuitive you dont need to memorize any algorithm
Same I just turn the middle lol
Same@@StanleyGamingHQ
Whenever I messed up on a big cube it summons my adhd and PTSD☠️
Fr, I just messed up snake on 7x7 😡
There is also the cube-in-a-cube variation where it's alternating stripes so that each face only has two colors instead of three.
Do you have the alg?
@@RimRookies F D F' D2 L' B' U L D R U L' F' U L U2
I got the same one doing on the 4x4 and i was like what😂
Another pattern I like is (L R turn 1x on the y axis-doesn't matter which way but stay consistent). To undo, turn cube 1 more time and repeat algorithm. Or keep going by repeating the algorithm. If you do it 2x then you will have to undo 2x.
Bruhhh
Thanks for helping me bro!The thing thats good about paterns is that you make them if you are bored to solve the cube again and also all of them are beautiful
It's possible to have a cross on one pair of sides on a 3x3. what you do is hold the cube with one of the sides you want the cross on facing you, and turn the adjacent sides 180 degrees one after the other in sequence (right, bottom, left, top for example) 3 times keeping the same order each time and if you do it right the side facing you and the opposite side will have the crosses while the sides you were turning are clear. Also a variation of the dots pattern on a 3x3 is where the outer ring is 50/50 opposing colors in the form of an L. Simply turn each pair of sides in opposite directions. Also if you do the turns the same, i.e. you turn the left side down and the right side up, each time except when you bring the corners of the side you had facing you back to their center witch will be the opposite way then the Ls will be going the same direction on every side.
On the 6x6, you can make the checkerboard pattern like a 3x3
Thanks helped me a lot with my patterns 😀
Super helpful a must watch
For the checkerboard, you can just do a double move on each middle layer. For the 4 dot (four centers dotted) you can also do a checkerboard but with only 1 move instead of a double move twice. Found that out once by mistake.
SAME but THAT’S THE WAY I LEARNED IT so you are right!(:
I agree
Ye I know
Yeah! I taught myself that lmao
Performing the dots 3 times will reset the positions
Those patterns were amazing
😊
you can do a perfect checkerboard on a even cube, like on a 6x6, just do a 3x3 checkerboard, and on the 10x10, do a 5x5 checkerboard.
TY I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE THE PATTERN ON THE 3X3 FOR SO LONG im subscribing and liking the video
these patterns are so gooodd i will try these
Dude Ty so much this is Increadible🤩❤️
Let's all show this to non cubers who this making checker board pattern is something brilliant. ( It looks brilliant though)
English left the chat

@@spit2u744 he is saying that we should just show this video to a non cuber for whom making a checkerboard pattern is a great achievement
@@arth10 I think that’s still more complicated
I love your patterns
8x8 = Colorful Chess Board! 🤯
these were actually really cool! :D
Ty for my first cube today and I learned the checkerboard and dots pattern YAAAAAAYYYYYYY
Great tutorial
your my favorite youtuber. always good content
Thanks it looks so good
😊❤
For the dots pattern you can do the normal dots pattern then do the checkerboard pattern steps to get a flower
Yeah I like doing that one
I made a new pattern! Do the 4 dots but stop after the second move(make sure you completed the m2) then move the first layer u turned in the same direction again (once)then do m2 again. I call this pattern, “Eyes” hopefully it worked for you! Pro undo it just do the same algorithm again
Can anyone do this pattern?

4 dots is just a roux lse case so you havent made a new pattern but cool
Best pattern tutorial ever made
This is definitely a useful vid
I Have A 3×3 And Did The 1st One... THANKS FOR THE TIP
Ah this is what I needed
thank fo the patterns
I just found this video and expect some cool patern but i already know all :))
This video is helpful for beginners
Moral of the story: Even numbered cubes are not so good for patterns
😂
you can do 6 opposite spots on even numbered cubes
you do the 4 spots and then you use something like 2U2 m2 2U2 m2 to do those other two centers
That’s not true even numberCheckerboard pattern looks way cooler
the checkerboard is cool tho
:)
I'm not sure f you have covered this on another video, but I can make a checkerboard pattern on 2 sides or 4 sides of any even layer cube.
I'm not into the notations, but there are 2 ways. One way is to pick a side, you'll want to rotate each side 180 degrees in this order: top, right, bottom, left, top, right, bottom, left, top, right, bottom, left. And to change to checkerboard on all 4 sides is once you have the 2 sided, just to the full checkerboard order.
Another way is to do the 180 degree turns with the order: right, bottom, left, right, bottom, right, top, bottom for 2 side, and right, bottom, left, right, bottom, left, front, back for 4 sides
Cool. I started cubing like 3 week ago and I just going for the chess pattern for fun since the scrambled cube with the beginner metod.
But i'm not the creative tipe of persone to figure more paterns than that and the Dot swap with the oposite sides or the 120° turn sides clockwise/anticlockwise. And I figured out after guessin if it's posible imagine rotating the 2 basics structures of the cube: Core and Pieces. I wasn't try randomly and take my time guessing...
"Cube in Cube" and "Anaconda" looks really cool and I will try it when come back to home. Anaconda will look good on a stickerless cube and Cube in Cube on a Rubix one.
I solved a cube for the first time in 2 years. Thanks for getting me back into it
so helpful
Thanks bro😊
I had learned all the pattern of Rubik's cube😊😊
Tank you so much ❤❤❤
Thank you man
😅😂😊😊😊❤
Thankyou very much
This is much more fun than arranging the cube normally 😂😂😂
AWESOME VID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is another you can do for the 2x2 that has 2 ways of acomplishing it
1 way to get it is to twist all the corners a certain way to get it so that 1 half of each side is on the opposite side of the other half
I love your video
His thumbnails are always the best ones. They must attract such a big click-through rate!
Amazing
I like this updated guide more than the other and subbed 😁😄
Bonus pattern: Pluses.
Start by doing an H-perm on one side of the cube (M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2), then go to the opposite side of the cube and do the same thing. To finish it off, hold the H-permed sides on the left and right and do an M2.
why not just do E2 instead of rotation
Legit one of the weirdest scrambles i ever got Is on 3x3 white up Green in front: U D F2 R2 U F2 D2 B2 F2 U‘ L2 F B‘ U2 L‘ R‘ D2 F B L2
At first i thought there nothing wrong whit this. Then i saw it.🤣
For those who don’t wanna do the scramble:
It just scrambles everything except for the 2nd layer.
Lmao
@@Jadondigitallmao
🤣😂
For the Cube in a cube in a cube,You can twist the 2 corner peices and make a cube in a cube then twist them back so you can solve the cube
wth would you do that
7:02 dots can be done on odd and even num cubes btw, same way also
You can do the even cubes 2leyers blank checkerboard on every cube (even on odd cubes)
Thanks for scrambling my cubes
😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡
To do a checkerboard pattern, just take the number of layers on the cube you’re using, and subtract 1. The difference is how many double turns to do before the rotation.
12:46 one time I solved a 3x3 in the "cube in a cube" position because I didn't want to learn the algorithm for it. It was really hard.
If you learned this algorithm you will get easier
Me too
me who would just disassemble and reassemble the cube also the striped pattern as a step towards checkerboard looks pretty cool
The first pattern I learnt how to solve was the Swapping Centers pattern. It was when I was a non-Cuber that had absolutely no idea on how to solve a Rubik’s cube.
THANKS!!!!!!!
The 2x2 checker pattern is a PBL case of Ortega
You can actually do 6x6 like a odd number cube because it is a multiple of 3x3
Thank you for scrambling my cube
U don't know how to solve?
Hey z3cubing I just got the gan 356 XS i know I am quite late to getting it do you think it was a good choice to get that cube my only speed cube until the gan cube comes in is a moyu budget cube can you tell me your thoughts of it if you see this comment
Z3 did you know that if you just do the dot pattern, then the u perm on the three cycled pieces , you will make the cube ina cube pattern!
Yes, now i can display my cubes in a fancy way
You can do dots in 4 moves hold you rubix cube by white on top red front and blue to the right : E left 1, M down 1, E right 1, M up 1.
Is it cooler on the dots if you do both inner layers before doing the other one and do both there (5x5-7x7)
I found a different method for making the dots pattern. Move the right layer up and the center + top layer counter clock wise (both layers at once by spinning the center layer). Now rotate the cube 90 degrees clockwise and do that again. Do it 4 times and you have the pattern.
Can you do this pattern? I started with the dots pattern.

Thanks
One of my favorite is a checkerboard cube in a cube.
I think the cube in a cube in a cube was the best pattern!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Tysm
You can do the dots in 4x4 while moving the inner 2 layers
17:45
BRO IS SPEAKING FACTS 🗣🗣🗣
For the dots i like to do the red white and green just like you but i made the white side like japan green center on red and white on green
tysm
so uh, after messing around with some turns, i managed to do a cross patteren only on the white and yellow sides. not sure how but dAmn it looks cool
BRO HOW IS ANY BEGINNER SOPOSE TO DO IT AS FAST AS YOU
I did it and I am a beginner
i did a cube in a cube on a twisted cube and its amazing
You can actually combine checkerboard pattern and dot pattern by doing U2 M2 U2 y U2 M2 U2
Woah, cool!
You should do a video for 1 x 1 patterns
Try getting an 8x8x8 and do the checkerboard. Then put chess pieces. This would be so cool.
Another dots pattern for the 3x3 is turning the top layer twice middle layer twice rotate to the side middle layer twice then top layer twice again
Hey I have a 4x4 and you can bring it to the checkerboard with the same look and same algorithm
I like the last pattern
Thx
when i scrambled my 5x5 trying to do dots, it was actually fun to solve
I did a checkerboard on my 4x4 Rubik's cube long time ago
checkerboard and dots are so easy for me
Z3Cubing I don’t know If you heard but the competition for the pike peaks summer at Colorado got Canceled 😞
A lot of mixed cubes later finally
I actually know a different way to do dots with 4 centers. Just do RUR’u’ so the right hand four moves with wide U’ 6 times
Edit: to undo it just do RUR’u’ six more times
True cube in a cube for 2x2 just twist a corner and when u done showing off twist it back
I just discovered the Odd1sOut is subscribed to Z3Cubing
Personally, I think there's a more checkered way to make the 4x4 (and perhaps all even cubes above it? I only have a 3x3 & 4x4 so I can't check)
.
Take a 4x4 and do the 4x4 checker (4 sides checkered, 2 sides blank) Then, rotate the cube so one of the checkered sides is on top and perform the 2x2 checker algorithm. This gives you a cube that has all three checkers on different sides. So the Red & Orange can be 4x4 checkered, the White & Yellow can be 3x3 checkered, and the Green & Blue can be 2x2 checkered
Interesting
Little bit of story time, on my first cube I accidently got checker board and called it a flower cube.😂😂😂 then I learned that it was called checker board and I was like "Ohhhhhhhh..." end of story.
i learned the checker board on my 3x3 and it looks awsome, i cant wait to show my freiends at school tomorow
