    Hey man, I watched this video this morning just after it appeared. And you know what? I did it. I took my equipment and played at the pier for an hour. I made $7. So the time and the placement might need work but, I did it! You said ... just do it. And I did. So it begins. Thanks!!

    Just wanted to say a big thankyou for these great videos you make, especially this one.
    I'm nornally a shy person but i passionatley love music and always envied people who could just get up there and do it.
    So eventually decidee to throw myself in the deep end play some basic covers at an open mic. . . .and all my fears never happened and i done it more and more and it got better
    So at the moment busking scares me a little but with your video and just a constant reminder myself to get past the fear i hope to be out there soon (just need to gain the equipment).

    So I watched this whilst restringing my fiddle, long overdue. And two observations, act like you are.......and you may well feel that. Its been long known that doing anything creative generates positivity. Thir(oops)d, step outside time and look at where you were, where you are, where you want to be. Finally ( yep wrote the intro before I sorted out my ideas) think about the BEST that will happen if you follow a certain path. Gotta go, practising a guitar loop and playing fiddle over it, Pachelbels canon BTW.

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a subject that I've thought about making a video on before. It's a tricky one because over the time I've been a busker, I've discovered more and more that there isn't really a way to tell.
      A good pitch, in theory, is one where you're in a relatively busy pedestrian only area, away from noisy construction and busking is well-tolerated (if not celebrated!). A bad pitch, in theory, is a place where there's next to no foot traffic, it's very noisy and you're likely to get asked to leave... However, there's been times where I've set up in quieter areas, where there's been little foot traffic, a noisy road nearby and I've preceded to have an incredible busk. Then there's been times where I've set up in the 'ideal spot' and had next to no attention or donations!
      It's the great mystery of busking! 😂 🙌
      I think I can certainly do a video outlining what to look for when you're searching for a busking pitch so I'll try and put something together! 😀 🙌

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a great question! It's something that I've found comes with time. Heading out over and over, after a while you get used to where the volume should be. I also turn up a little more when it's busy/noisy, and turn down a little if I'm in a smaller place with less people. 😀 🙌

    • @philc8622
      @philc8622 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RonOmallyOfficial This is one of the benefits of allowing someone else to play a couple of numbers (like ARP did with Summer). It gives you a chance to see how loud it sounds from a distance, and you can use it to adjust the balance with vocals/guitar and tone settings. Once you have found some good settings it's worth writing them down for reference. As ARP points out, you can then adjust the overall (master) volume depending on the requirements of the location (proximity of shops/housing/stallholders etc).
      If someone starts chatting to me and I find out they are a musician, I often ask them if they want to sing a song - it can lead to some fun interactions.
