They just think because she us white that she cannot sing black music. But it works both ways. We blacks can sing their music too sometimes better than them. Check out the voice Kirk Jay who sung Rascal Flatts songs better than them that is why he did not win because white folks did not liked the fact so they did not vote for him and especially he was on Blake Shelton team. As long as they keep putting white singers over black singers on the voice, they are not ever gonna have someone as successful as Carrie underwood,Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson just to name a few

I think she could do much more if she pulled back a bit. She’s pushing so much that she starts to sounds tired as the song goes on. I’d hate for her to damage that beautiful voice with her current technique. She’s a natural talent and I hope she never stops singing. 😌

@yunki_ I think she's not formally trained and sings, but not regularly. I bet if she had a voice coach and practiced regularly, she would strengthen her lungs and help her not strain her vocal cords. She is a natural talent and people like her are rare. I'd like to see her pursue a career in music. She's got the chops!
I’m classically trained (though not nearly as naturally talented as this lady) and I agree with this. With some training she’ll be an absolute powerhouse.

I like to share my experience so that I can share the context under which I’m expressing something, but I feel bad that people feel bad for me, because even though I’m very sick, I’m in this state where everything that’s beautiful is just so much more beautiful and through the process of the hard work over recovery, what has happened is that as each little strange thing in me heals differently, it’s very clear how much work we really are to take care of if we were taking care of ourselves the right way and everything slows down and I can see how much energy and effort and miracles go into so many things. When I was young and healthy and active and very strong physically, I didn’t stop to see everything around me. I’m very lucky that I can see the love in everything around me and really hope to impart this state to other humans.
Reggie, first, let me thank you for doing what you do. You bring so much joy into people's lives with this platform and we appreciate it.
Now, let me say that this young lady (Katie Smith) needs to quit her day job RIGHT NOW and get into her music. She absolutely CRUSHED this Alicia Keys song and I had tears in my eyes watching this magnificent performance. This was absolutely amazing!!! I'm sharing this on my Facebook page.
