Excellent video, I appreciate the mention of a better way to line up the back bushing first then the others next. I'm about to do this for both sides without a hoist, so any suggestions are helpful. Also, see another Acura owners' channel- excellent helpful points are also given too ! Both channels are very helpful. Thank you ! Cheers, Dk.
Hello. I have a 2002 Acura MDX. It was hit on the back passenger side rear wheel. Now the wheel is tilted inward at the top. I see a damaged bracket or some sort which the brake lines are attached too. I need to know that part name so i can get the part replaced
Is an alignment needed afterwards? I just recently got an alignment after replacing inner and outer tie rods. Would another alignment be required if now replacing the lower control arms?
It comes pre-greased if its a sealed version.. The grease-able ones come with a fitting you screw in the top of the joint and pump in with a grease gun after pressing it in/ installing it and putting boot on. Then you remove the fitting.

very well done my friend, it's refreshing to see folks that can actually present properly.
Thank You, Thanks for watching and commenting!!
From my experience with the control arm, re-install the rear bolt first, then do the ball joint, and install the front bolt last.

Yes, I usually get an alignment after a new control arm.
Incredible video, thank you!
Can you replace the ball joint without removing the control arm from the car?
I was told that the oem controll arm is made from aluminum. So I don't think you could press it in or out with out damaging the controll arm
1st gen Mdx/Pilot you can remove & install the ball joint without removing the control arm
@@UziMovie1st gen Mdx / Pilot control arms (lower) were made out of steel. Later generations had aluminum
appreciate your effort
My 2003 MDX shakes hard at 80mps could that be bad bushings? (200k miles)
The knuckle has a casting step, not a crack. Yes, reinstall rear bolt first, then the ball joint, then the front bolt last, saves a lot of BS.
This job is so difficult because no one preloads the strut before installing the new control arm. If you do that then everything slides in.
Great stuff thanks
How do you grease the ball joint

looks like the knuckle is cracked @ ball joint interface. IDK
don sivak was looking at the same thing
I'm suprised no one has made a tool to preload the shocks to make this job a walk in the park.
Great
