- With the new Elden Ring update, Fromsoft added the ability to complete Varré's questline with a new NPC invasion.

If you kill him before you die three times, the quest will progress anyway. The three death thing is just there due to how the online version works (use the finger 3 times, doesn't matter if you win or lose.) So it works the same, just that the NPC won't respawn once dead and the quest will continue.

But the thing is here, he won’t respond, I invade him 3 times and then kill him 4th time, got the rune arc but the blood summon still there and varre doesn’t progress:(((

@@willbyers7233 I don't think its bad looking up items to help your build, to fromsofts's credit elden ring is massive but that also means its far more difficult to find relevant items , especially if you spec into some of the more limited attributes with harshly limited item pools.
As much as people would like to, not everyone has all the time in the day to wander aimlessly essentially crossing their fingers that a relevant item will drop.
Thanks for the guide! It was really hard for me to invade people to begin with so knowing that I won't have to invade an actual player is a relief.
With this new patch it makes invading WAY faster, check it out. Also if you meant that you just weren’t able to kill the host, you don’t have to. When I’m doing a fun speed run I invade and then let them kill me.

@@animethighss69 Your runes are dropped where you died when invading, even if that's on the other side of the map
@@falloutboy231 you do lose your runes, so instead just invade and then immediately back out of their world. It'll still count and you can keep your runes
I have done this twice now and only needed to kill the NPC once on each playthrough.

I’m ok with this update. I dont play online. Ever. I like to do challenge and lore runs. It’s a pain to have to invade an actual human. Does killing him on the first try progress varre’s questline or do you have to atleast die twice to him on order to invade 3 times? If I remember correctly you needed to invade online people 3 times.
I'm 99% sure killing him will progress the questline even if it's your first attempt as it's the only NPC this quest works with.
I'm the same dude, I never play from soft games online, just hate the online community and their spammy bs
I hate invasions too.. But you dont need to kill anyone.. I went in with empty hands to appear as friendly as possible..

Would this work with the volcano manor questline aswell? I know you have to invade other npcs worlds but i dont think you use the bloddy finger

If you are asking if you only have to invade them 3 times, then no. With the volcano manor questline it's always been NPCs and you must kill them to progress.
Since you are mentioning Volcano Manor, (I think) You dont need to talk knight Bernahl to summon him in the godskin duo fight ,if you do this questline
On the first try I killed him without knowing I was supposed to die on purpose so I could use the festering bloody finger 3 times is there a way to undo that or another location I could do this?
I'm pretty sure killing him progresses the quest, but if it doesn't there's no other ones that I know of.

You need to find one of the 2 dead finger maidens around the map. I personally recommend the one in Church of Inhibition (located in Liurnia of the Lakes) cause you can get the finger maiden armor set off of her. The other is at the very start of the game, which you can get to from the Four Belfries.
There's other videos out there that go into great detail on the quest, I highly recommend you check those out, as this video was just meant to show the new offline segment added to it.
Finally I can farm runes even though I pirated the game lesgooo

I'm currently having problems with my PS+ subscription, as my card saw it as an unauthorized transaction and it put a temporary freeze on my account. So I'm forced to play offline till i can figure out how to fucking pay my subscription again, even though i told my bank i approve of the transaction, my card still won't work for the PS+ payment. So fucking annoying. Came back too elden ring recently though, so this definitely helps! Thank you!!
Does doing this still progress you to warp to Mohgyn Dyansty Rune Farm now completely offline? It's literally the only thing I want to be able to do with this.... I'm on NG+2 going for frenzy flame ending.
yes, this will still reward you with the item used to go to mohg, and from there you can run towards the rune farm area.

not sure if you found the answer yet, facing the ruin from the road it is in the left broken foundation, the dogs, lure them one by one easier that way

I discovered this method by accident while trying to get two great stars. Glad I don't have to fight commander niahl to go to snowfield and then teleport. Fuck this game btw.

Nay, he gives ya that many in case ya need em, if you kill the red npc after invading, ya won't need more than one, but if he kills ya, then you'll need to use up to two more fingers--one finger if ya win 3 fingers if ya get defeated, seems to advance the quest

Nah the fight isn't that difficult you just need to put some close on and put some points into vigor

There's really nothing woke about a game that expects you to be competent enough to play and figure things out with your hands. Jesus fucking christ, you should try play old generation games, like Baroque or Phantasy Star. Those games aren't considered woke-- But, what do I know? Maybe you'll find those games especially woke.
Because they don't tell you what to think or believe-- It gives you a chance and context clues to figure things out like a smart cookie. And that, like you implied, is woke. No info is given by the game. Indeed, the OLD wokeness people don't hype enough about.

If the game holds your hand an tells you WHERE to go... it kind of defeats the purpose of exploring and finding stuff. If you cant find something you can always find a guide. If this is a problem for you... its not your type of game... stop crying that its 'garbage' and admit that you want a more linear game. You are literally making a fool out of yourself here xD
