  • Anti-theft systems are designed to prevent your vehicle from being stolen.
    The system "breaks" the flow of electricity to the engine start sequence when the vehicle detects that a key other than the correct one is attempting to start it. Often, the system combines two critical components to keep the vehicle from being stolen. 1) The audible vehicle alarm Essentially, how they work is by an electrical circuit disconnecting to prevent power from flowing in some fashion so your car won’t start or to die immediately. An anti-theft system may also integrate a car alarm or it might be just an engine immobilizer.
    1) The audible vehicle alarm and/or
    2) An engine immobilizer. Essentially, how they work is by an electrical circuit disconnecting to prevent power from flowing in some fashion so your car won’t start or to die immediately. An anti-theft system may also integrate a car alarm or it might be just an engine immobilizer.
    If your anti theft / engine immobilizer fails then a possible solution may be found in replacing the vehicle battery. If the battery dies then the key memory may have to be reset OR if the battery in the key remote dies.

    Thank you so much for this video saved me because I had this issue the alarm is going off as I was in the car and as I was driving it down the road with everyone staring at me so when it stopped I noticed red light was on and I was in the car so I watched your video and was able to get out and only have to endure another five seconds of the alarm before silencing it

    If the immobilizer circuit fails intermittently is there an output that can bypass this? Is there multiple outputs from the computer to remove voltage from the coil, injectors, etc? My Pilot is 17 years old and usually works but randomly does not crank flashing the key icon. Don’t want to spend $1000 on a car this old if it can be bypassed

    Hello i have a 2005 Nissan 350z, when i put in the key, the car CRANKS but wont start, when i put in the key and try to start it, the NATS Alarm red light doesnt disappear..the red light stays ON.. After 20 attempts and 20 min unlocking the door, turning the key on and off the ignitation, etc, it will finaly recoginze the key and will start perfectly. On other days, the car will start perfectly and will disable the alarm all the time. On other days, i struggle trying to disable the alarm. What COULD this be?! Is it the Key or the NATS antenna amp , Body control module (BCM) or (IMMU) Engine Control Module (ECM??

    What should I look for?
    Is there a PGM-FI main Fuel injector relay on the right side of the car behind the glove box like on other gas models?
    Does this relay open a high pressure control valve to the fuel pressure regulator and power the ignition coils?

    any idea about this issue. I noticed last night my electronic doorlocks did not respond aswell as the interior lighting didnt go on, then noticed the green ket flashing. Ifound that is Immobiliser issue, though i wonder why the doorlock and interior light would not go on, these are not connected to the immobilser are they? I tried looking at most of the fuses biut have not found a burned one yet, in the manual i dont see a ACG fuse as well. I got a European Honda Civic 2001.
    The interior light still works when i switch it manually but not using the doors, kinda weird one

But i have no electric doorlocks anymore, no airco, no interior automatic light. Lights on dashboard won't work.

    • @HWandW
      @HWandW 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marcus J. The battery in the key fob should be just for the remote. It’s my understanding that the transponder chip in the key does not need a battery; I.E. the owner’s manual of a 2002 CR-V says, “Do not open the key, there is no battery inside.” In 2002, the keys and the key fob remotes where not one piece. If the 2002 key doesn’t need a battery for the transponder chip, why would newer keys need a battery for the transponder?

    • @HWandW
      @HWandW 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Forget the expensive dealer, a locksmith that has current technology will be able to program a transponder key.

    Hello, I have an emergent question for the video publisher really. My car (grand cherokee 2004) was stolen inside, but the theft didn't take anything away from my car as there is nothing valuable there. I found this happened this monday as I noticed my car's door is ajar and pretty massed up inside. However, I didn't use my car since then, and today I want to drive for shopping and found it doesn't work. It looks like when I started it, it sound like "clicking", and no crank up. I am just not sure if it is the starter problem or the anti-theft programming problem. The car has enough battery and power. Thanks for any reply.

From that point on it is intuitive and the question of how it is done can be answered a multiple of ways depending on the scan tool used. Basically you open the scan tool and get to special function menu for the pcm and look for pcm replace or immo functions

      eileen Clow Your anti theft was activated. It needed to be reprogramed and then it would have started.😳 but this was a year ago.

      Julie K Munden is the battery in your car key dead? Go find the 1616 battery for it, that's what I did and it started right up the first try. Hope this helps.

    • @juliekmunden
      @juliekmunden 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, got a new battery and it still won't turnover. Ugh!

    • @gtabraham3454
      @gtabraham3454 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Julie K Munden just to be clear, are you talking about the actual battery that powers your car, or the battery that powers your key that unlocks and locks your car? Just for clarification

    My battery in my Honda Clarity 2018 went dead we charged it then it wouldn't shift they told me to tow it in. I found that losing power or changing the battery causes your anti theft to be enabled so not to be able to put the car in gear. All you need to do is put the key in the drivers side door, lock, unlock, lock it will release and you can shift gears. 6 people told me to tow the car.

      HowToCarGuy no they weren't, I have a car like in this video that has an alarm and it's a very quiet neighborhood at night and the man was on foot, it was 3am when he tried but thankfully my neighbors dog was barking and alerted me to look out the window, and I see this man peaking into my car with a flashlight! I was mad but as soon as I was about to hit the panic button on my fob he moved on

    Anti-Theft my ass, it's just a way to keep people from getting replacement keys without going to an approved dealer and paying the royalty.
    You gotta understand the way car-companies think: with their wallets first, and the customers second.

    I have the same year Honda Accord and I’ve had so many god damn problems. I hate Honda. I’ve had the alarm go off 3 god damn times, once in the middle of the night. I had the right key, everything was fine, the stupid car just would f up. I hate Honda, I hate the horrible 2.4 engine barely cranking out 200 horsepower, the horrible acceleration, horrible transmission, horrible looking car, horrible cabin noise, horrible god damn everything, I hate Honda more than I can ever imagine, they suck. I don’t care if they’re reliable whatsoever, every car in the god damn world can reach 200k miles. I hate Honda, I hate Honda, I want an actual god damn car like a charger or a magnum, not some garbage box Honda Accord that takes 5 years to get to 60! Hell, entering a highway is so hard because with the pedal to the floor, the car isn’t going anywhere!! I hate Honda so much, I want to sell my pile of garbage to some other owner who will hate it too.
