  • Video shows how to fix a Kenmore Washing machine that is leaving the clothes wet after the spin cycle. The video shows how to replace the load level sensor switch which is part number W10177795/W10292584/WPW10292584. When the load level switch is malfunctioning the washing machine will fill and agitate at the same time as well as rinse the cloth with water after the spin cycle leaving the cloth drenched. The washer in video is a Kenmore 800 series washer.

    I have the same Kenmore 800. It's 15 years old and has had this same part fail 3 times. The first time I paid for service, the second time my husband fixed it, and the third time--today--you and I did it! Thank you for the help and the confidence booster!

    I've had this switch replaced twice on our Kenmore 800. The first time it cost $300 for the part and labor from Sears. The second time it was under warranty. Now it's starting to do it again but now I should be able to do it myself thanks to your video. Thanks.

    Not only is this my model, it is the _exact_ same problem my machine has. What is weird is that the machine has had this problem off and on since it was about 6 months old. Usually, running a load in something other than "normal" would get it back to working properly again, but not this time! Thank you so much!

    Awesome video. My Kenmore 800 (looks exactly the same) would start adding water and agitating immediately when starting a new cycle, so I will replace the senser switch. Yesterday, it stopped spinning and agitating. Have you done a video on fixing that issue with this direct drive model Kenmore? I'm hoping so, your video is excellent!

    Thank you for your video! I got the remanufactured part and installed it, problem fixed. Unfortunately after 4 washings, it started doing the same thing. The part was covered by a warranty so the vendor supplied a replacement. Worked fine, only for 4 washings. The vendor has supplied another replacement stipulating that this is the last time he will do so. Can this many remanufactured parts go bad, or is there another problem causing it as the vendor has suggested?

    This video is really helpful, but make sure you take off the cover before ordering the part. My Kenmore 800 series looks exactly the same as the one in the video from the outside but the load sensor is a little different (the sensor is behind the temperature control knob and is clearly marked with the part number)

    Great video sir, thank you! I swapped out the part and it instantly fixed the agitator problem (it used to start agitating as soon as I started the cycle) but after my first load, that extra, unwanted rinse happened again and the clothes were wet in a pool of water. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Ive caught mine doing this. Go to start and instead of filling it goes straight to agitate then wants to add a shot of water right at the end. But not every time. At the moment its doing alright but unlike before, it continues to "walk" backwards to the wall even with cushion wedges. I was getting ready to check the level even tho its self leveling. Could the excess shaking be due to the same part malfunction?

    I just managed to take my Kenmore S-80 apart. The pressure hose is attached to the far left dial to choose the load size. Completely different than the S-800 and having read the schematic and it doesn't tell me where the load sensor switch is located. Could it possibly called something else on the older models?... or am I gonna hafta break down and call in a guy to fix this? Nahhh, I don't give up that easy!! Lol Thanks again, DTM! Judy

    • @DuctTapeMechanic
      @DuctTapeMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible that your particular model doesn't have a load sensing switch. It's hard to diagnose without actually seeing it. If it doesn't have a load sensing switch it could be that your washer is not spinning leaving the cloth wet (most of the time a worn clutch can cause that).

    • @jlamb199
      @jlamb199 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DuctTapeMechanic Thank you for the extra info! It's definitely spinning through all cycles with no water left in the tub, so before I attempt anything to do with the clutch I'm going to clean the drain pump, clean out the hoses and PRAY. I don't know if that will solve the problem but it probably needs to be done anyway...(A couple of weeks ago I washed one of those memory foam bath mats and it got DESTROYED!! I completely forgot about that!) I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR ADVICE! Thank you. Judy

    I am having this same issue of my machine leaving my cloths wet. Kenmore Series 500. I caught it in the act, it completes spin cycle, and then rinses my cloths again! Its driving me nuts. Do you think it would be the same issue as this 800 series? I am so tired of hand wringing drying my cloths enough so I can put it in the dryer. Let me know if you think its the same issue and if its would be the same process. THANKS!

    • @DuctTapeMechanic
      @DuctTapeMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am fairly certain it js the same thing. You might have a different part number so just make sure you order the exact same load selector switch that is on your machine.

  • @jlamb199
    @jlamb199 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    @DuctTape Mechanic Hi DTM. How did you determine it was a bad load sensor switch versus a bad drain pump? In both cases everything works but the clothes are just left REALLY wet. I replaced a drain pump once already and not looking forward to it again, even though it was a relatively simple fix.

    • @DuctTapeMechanic
      @DuctTapeMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I took the cover off and bypassing the lid switch and then watched the entire cycle (this is how I test these type of machines). Everything worked fine, including the drain, except that after the spin cycle the machine would add more water then come to a stop effectively leaving all the cloth wet.

    • @jlamb199

      @@DuctTapeMechanic Ok then, I'm gonna fly blind and just try it your way, and replace THIS part. Looks simple enough. These Kenmores are so great, aren't they? • @DuctTapeMechanic
      @DuctTapeMechanic  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not the same issue because the kenmoee 80 series washer does not have this part. Most likely your washer is not spinning due to two main reasons; the lid lock mechanism is bad or the clutch is bad. I have a video on this type of washer on my channel as well! Hope that helps

    My washer is doing what your saying in video but I dont think it is spinning correctly. It's really slow and stops after 20 seconds then adds more water. Its also making weird noises during spin.
