Something to take away from this is that there's going to be more important things to do when things seriously "hit the fan", but rebuilding after this sort of situation and thriving will potentially need technology. This will help us as preppers to be able to keep tech alive after a collapse. Remember to stay safe and stay prepared out there guys!
Old man at 70 just trying to survive living on a private island in the Southern Bahamas have lots of Solar and a wind vertical axis turbine. I raise rabbits & chickens and garden, Yes I have satellite Internet, satellite TV and my ham radio. like Jimmy Buffett I have a seaplane and a guitar. It may not be 5:00 but it is always island time. Just found your channel here, hope I can learn more. 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏🤗
There might be people in a larger post-collapse community that can use this and make sense of it. Unless you want to go back to a medieval time period, we better start thinking of this stuff.
Exactly! Even having the data with you and once you're in that community stage post shtf, if one (or more) people can use it, you'll have a leg up on other communities that don't.
This is honestly a great idea! Even if you don't know how to code, to just have this saved would be great to potentially be able to setup after collapse. I also like that you mentioned that this isn't 100% important, because there's other things that we would need to do after collapse. But tech will always be important
That's a neat tool. It's something I'd hope we wouldn't have to use, but it's very interesting to be aware of. Tech is one thing I wouldn't want to COMPLETELY lose post collapse.
@@TheDigitalPrepper Lol...I'm actually scavenging today, I'm removing metal pieces from power post that fell during Maria, they gave my cousin a bunch of broken power post that were going to the dump, he needs some post for fencing animals in.
love your channel idea. I always think about prepping with maintaining our current knowledge in mind. Knowing how the world of physic and tech works is crucial for how far back are we going in human advancement after shtf. If you know how Raspberry Pi works and simple physics you can do so muny stuffs.
That's exactly the point I was trying to convey! It's exactly like the dark ages where books filled with information were destroyed and some say that set us back possibly decades. Now imagine how much we would be set by a destruction of our current technology. It would be devastating! Appreciate the kind words, spread the word and stay safe out there 😊
In addition to this it is probably also wise to keep a local copy of wikipedia. Since a couple of years when it is about to get christmas time I make my yearly donation to wikipedia and then download an updated offline copy of it ony my NAS. It is just about 100GB and it will be so damn useful. Buy anyways I hope I'll never actually need it. Oh and also keep some old network switches and openWRT-capable wifi routers. That can help as well, even if it is not a total collapse scenario but also in case of other disasters to provide others in your community with networking capability. Maybe this idea will help others as well :)
What if technology could simply be *regrown* from a single cellular sample? We could [maybe] use CRISPR to modify glass sea sponge DNA and grow crystal processors that work based on light
There's a bunch of info, for example: The Knowledge: How to Rebuild Civilization in the Aftermath of a Cataclysm is a ok book to read. I also have military books on survival and other books on plants, bees etc. For modern tech, I would recommend to download or print out manuals, for Collapse OS, there's manuals on the owners site you can download, and think about looking at other communities as well! Let me know if you have any questions.

The first "rebuilding" video I've seen for after a collapse. Awesome job - keep it up!
Appreciate it!

Agreed. I might even try to learn Forth for this, but I'll at least have this stored on my digital archive for the potential future.

Exactly! It's something that you might not need, but it's always good to have stored next to the movies, books and other preps
Never heard of this, very interesting topic, One of the reasons I love 12v systems is because I can actually repair a lot of it with car parts.
Exactly! IF this sort of thing happens, scavenging will be a normal thing, and people with those skills will be very helpful for rebuilding

Sounds like the plot to a sci-fi novel/movie

Any suggestion if a book for repurpose modern tech during a depression or collapse?
