Sounds great! I have the 1996 EFI SKS Indy 500 Unicorn With the 12"Extra suspension all around.. I buckled the right trailing arm and 90°ed the Fox shock... They stopped making the trailing arms, less than 3 yrs, after they made them.
I miss this! The first Indy Polaris 500 that I ever rode on was a little different poweful. Very different from the newer Indy Polaris 500 switchbacks, ugh. I don’t think there as fun. When you hit the gas on these older ones, the top comes up you don’t even need to jump it but the new ones don’t do that you’d have to make a jump and I also like the back where you could hold on and pull somebody because we did that as kids yes, I was riding a Indy Polaris 500 by the time I was eight years old. 😊 however, mine was brand new at the time. My two sisters and I made these jumps that were big and we would floor it and hit these jumps and actually broke a part inside of the snowmobile and it was brand new. My dad was kind of upset about it. He had to take it apart and fix it but stuff happens when you’re a kid and you feel invincible. Now that I’m in my 40s, when I go snowmobiling on a rented sled I don’t do that anymore. I stay on the trails. However, on the straightaway with new powder, I will floor it and do whatever I want. I’ve never rolled a snowmobile or been hurt on one and I’m not stupid enough to get caught in a tree well. However, I have seen people do dumb things. We were lucky we never got hurt. I’m surprised we never did with what we were doing but we did do something to the snowmobile that my dad had never seen before. My dad was an expert on a snowmobile and a engineer. Great video 😊 it brought back some good memories.
Done the same 1st mod you did on my -89 500 and am so pleast with the sound. Its not to much but sounds great. Gutted the muffler on my XLT -93 to so i cant wait till it snows and i can test it
@@blackmasta71 Thank you for the insight. I tend to stick to stock everything on my sled. The thing about the cans is something I've been told by a couple people that run triples and cooked pistons but likely for a different reason.
Yeah its not bad, but....I once owned a 1980 Centurion 500 triple. It had the most unique sound with custom triple expansion chambers that were SO bad-ass! Now I have a really nice condition 99 Indy 500 with stock pipes. I like yours better!
@@BENK482hey how come you don’t post anymore? I have had a TH-cam channel for 15 years but I recently just started using it and uploading all my old footage in the last few years. TH-cam can be weird! Your Larcocco video got recommended
Do you understand that a pipe is tuned for a engine, modifying a pipe without the right knowledge and your just losing power and doing it just for sound

That will Never compare to the sweet note of a triple!
Triples only run on 2 cylinders anyway 🤣🤣

Ahhh yes, the sweet scream of a Yamaha 700 triple with a race can at 2am.
Had a 97 xcr extra 10 600 trip piped. When I was done had 800 psi kit. 151 2/14 fox shocks cons with x 10 DG triple Silencer's. Fucker was. Handful.
Hell yeah! You made my night! Making me pray harder for sled season. Sounds so sweet!
Thanks!

Thank you for loading a video of the sound of this thing and no bullshit music while she’s running
Just got a arctic cat 98 zl 500. Mint condition redone engine. Raised susp for a 280lb guy. I'm only 125lbs. Softened it up and away I went.
That is not to bad sounding for a 500 Twin… would love that same chassis but with a Storm 800 motor and a Trash can on it
Done the same 1st mod you did on my -89 500 and am so pleast with the sound. Its not to much but sounds great. Gutted the muffler on my XLT -93 to so i cant wait till it snows and i can test it
Where the heck are you? It snows green there!🇨🇦
Why do people throttle pump sleds lol ?!?
Honestly for me it’s just habit
Let's see some more sled content!
What is the skid and track setup on that
Neighbor selling one of these, thinking about grabbing it. Just sucks here in Northeast Ohio not much snow
Sounds mint. I think I will search that can out for my XLT.
I have always heard that after market cans will blow up an XLT as in they like to melt XLT pistons. Is there any truth to this.
@@michaeljohnson1457 a Can no. Pipes yes. But it is always good to check your plugs after a wide open run to make sure they are not white.

the carbides are sooooo wrecked
Twin pipes would sound better but it sounds good.

Nice, my dads got a 80 centurion
can y ou send me the link to what can you used?
What's the link for this exhaust love the sound
Straight from TH-cam
What is the model of that can? I’m looking to do that to mine
I tell u Buddy that is not not from 95. The snomobile that was creating in that timme was polaris indy 600 xc 700 xc and i think the xlt
still have that tx?
Hehe sliders who needs them
I think imma look into swapping one of these into a go cart
we do a little booger welding
Have you done any motor work to it?
That TX in the background:)
There’s a lot nicer tx and txls in the garage…
and 5 other ones
Is that a normal indy ore is it a sks ore a rmk?
dude its a SNOWmobile not a grassmobile built for SNOW and only snow!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatcha got for shocks and suspension on this thing need deck out my 91 classic shes smoked
Said m10 in another comment with homemade extensions and 144 track
No, that sounds identical to a canned ski Doo summit 600 HO
That extra 12 off the wedge wouldn't fit on my evolved body hopefully u got a evolved extra 12
that’s awesome haha, what’s the info on the track and suspension setup? Wouldn’t mind doing that to mine
I extended the tunnel with another Indy’s tunnel, took an m10 that I got with a parts sled and built rail extensions, and slapped a 144” track on it
Sounds good, but not Greasy Triple good
I agree… but it’s as good as it gets for a 2 cyl…
Beg to differ
Are you on the indy garage?
What’s that?
I had a cherry bomb on mine sound was epic
What’s that can for and does it fit good
It’s for a axys chassis rmk, it actually comes out pretty close to fitting
Sounds amazing but nothin compared to my indy
Or mine haha
Or my xcr
My Xlt sounds mean as fuck compared to that
Nice video..good weld on exhaust pipe...
But don't think u should run on grass ...the track sliders rely on snow for lubrication and cooling.
You don't need snow!
@@GregHuston what lubs the track
Dish soap helps out with that....... The slides do need help in the of season or they warm up and act like Glue!
Swap an 800 triple engine on it lol
also i have 1 of those
Run no can I did sound good to.
Why dont you throttle jockey it some more
There’s no need to be upset, it’ll be ok!

it doesnt sound better then a formuliia 3
what kind of indy becuse i have a trail and i don’t know if it’s gonna be good
It’s just a 500 Indy. 500 cc liquid cooled twin, with an extended tunnel and long tracked.
Indy trail might be the 488fan cooled... Won't sound the same but, anything's better than stock. Ha
Bruh why you riding a snowmobile on grass?😂
Clearly never heard a triple 🙄

He didn’t change the expansion chamber
The silencer doesn’t change the tuning of the exhaust .. if it does it’s not by any noticeable amount at all
Like noise music
Not sure why young people like noise.
Cuz old people do too!
it sounds terrible compared to a stock 600 or 650
