Even if just for the story I would totally recommend playing AC1. 11:36 by you saying "Same VA" for Altair; if you mean the voice of Altair in Revelations is the same VA from AC 1, then you're wrong. AC 1's VA was Philip Shahbaz, and Revelations VA was Cas Anvar
Ezio might be a 'messenger' in the grand scheme of things, but if it wasn't for him, Desmond wouldn't have known that the world would be ending in 2012 and he wouldn't have sacrificed his life to save it. It's thanks to Ezio that the world is safe. He is the "prophet", just like how he was referred to in AC2 and he brought the savior, Desmond, into the world.
Although the older games did prioritise less well-known historical periods, which Revelations does magnificently, I have to applaud the ways in which history is utilised and taught in the last three games, and particularly in their discovery tours. 0:38 Ezio's darker robes are meant to represent how far he's come since he was a young man. He's incredibly experienced now, and he's looking for knowledge. I do love the nod that he's struggling a bit with his "identity" as an Assassin and his "identity" as Ezio Auditore da Firenze. I also love how Ezio sounds in this game. He's not a young man anymore, he's a hardened fighter and his voice accurately reflects that.
Honestly, getting to relive these games and see so much more because of a different POV, thank you... so much. I never knew Abstergo was latin for "I cleanse". Even so many years later, on a game I have played multiple times & I tout as one third of the best trilogy I have ever played, you still taught me something new. I love that. Also, hearing that you're going to make a video on AC: Embers makes me happy but I know I'm going to cry. Ezio's final words/letter are some of the many words from Ezio that struck me hard, meant something strong to me, & that I've taken in to shape myself with. His words are not only beautiful, but insightful & profound, but in a wonderfully understandable way. I know that sounds kinda contradictory, but it makes sense to me. haha :D I CONTINOUSLY look forward to your videos & can't wait to see your next one. Always love seeing your POV & the similarities/differences we have. Helps me think even more about a game I love.

Altair Ibn-La'Ahad. Seeing what became of him, that was so satisfying for me. And when Ezio finally meets the man in the flesh (so to speak), I felt a massive sense of reverence. People hated on this game when it came out, but, I always loved it. I still say it's a worthy addition to Ezio's story.
I know you said you didn’t play the original Assassin’s Creed, but that’s where the music at 22:31 is originally from. Of course, AC2 reused it for the assassin tombs, but I LOVE that Altaïr’s music follows him through the games. VERY nostalgic moment either way!
Desmond’s first person platforming memories were perhaps my favorite piece of this exquisite game, as you got to learn, not just through words, but by sound and emotion Desmond’s story as if he were a real person. To learn how to separate that from Ezio compartmentalizing his own life, and Altair doing the same… one of the most timeless Assassin’s creed games. This, AC 3, and AC Black Flag I feel really we’re able to grasp the archetypes of story and myth and wove them perfectly.
Would have asked you to do a video on the SoulsBorne Universe but I think that even one of its videos would be more than an hour long. AC 1 is worth a try. It’s interesting to go back and see where it all started. It is repetitive, and feels like a demo, but beside that, I had a great time.
Lol I started an AC marathon a few months ago, on ac rogue rn. Made it a challenge to finish the story and 100% each game too. Did enjoy the ac1 story but holy crap the gameplay after a few hours became so torturous. It's the only game I ended up not 100% along with ac3 which was worse in a way.

You missed a trick there at 23:05! You should have played that "nice fade" clip from Spaceballs! Honestly... But, anyway, that is one reason I'm so wary about the concept of time travel! It is our past that made us, that define our being! It does not, and should not, control our future, though we should not forget the lessons, yet we all too often do! Such a sad fate that forgetting said lessons can destroy us, "a vicious cycle", it was once called...
Another nice touch about Desmond's clothes, the colors for the shirt are inverted and his hoodie going from white to black could be seen as his world view literally having been flipped after what he's gone through in the last game.
Yusuf’s origin story to the Assassin/Templar conflict is shown in the novelisation for the 2016 film, one of the Regressions short stories that each of the prominent descendant characters from the film got and detail an Animus session they were in. They all have ancestors who have appeared before in the franchise, and these extra short stories serve to flesh them out a bit more.
Considering Desmond accesses Altaïr’s memories through his mother’s side, that could be why Ezio sees Altaïr and this portion of his life is so open to Desmond and not his father (whose side Ezio and the Kenway generations came from). That he’s doing through a safe mode of the Animus and not normal function could also factor in, like it wouldn’t be recalled this way through the normal interface even Rebecca or later Layla (who overcame the genetic match requirement for the user by drawing genetic memory from actual remains) might have designed.
Ezio trilogy would always be my favourite games. Also, a little thing I noticed, Apple of Eden drives a person insane in a small time. It is a testament to Altair's will power that he kept using it for years without going mad or ambitious himself.
That wagon chase with the Templar captain is still one of my favorite moments from the game Also, my head canon for Ezio's actions around the 5 minute mark is that he came across the fact that there was water beneath him while he researched Masyaf on his journey. As a wiser man and Assassin, he undoubtedly has learned the importance of knowing what he was walking into.
You said earlier in the video that the music in this game is great. And yes, that is absolutely true. But that song during the 'destruction flashback' scene hits so hard and doesn't let up until the end and gives that slight kind of hint of rebuilding and hope, but you'd never know with how hard it hits before that. Always gives me chills years later to listen to it and still essentially visualize the cutscene while listening.
I played this game more than any video game never once cried at the ending. Why am i so emotional now. Propably i'm gonna cry even more at your Ember's video
11:45 Ali ibn al-Athir and Ata-Malik Juvayni were not Assassins, but historians contemporary to the Assassins who wrote about them. The founder of the Assassins was Hassan-i Sabbah, also known as the Old Man of the Mountain.
1:30: Hearing 16's description of the Bleeding effect sounds so close to what CDPR did with V and Silverhand I wouldn't be surprised if the Ezio trilogy was a inspiration.
11:32 Quick note that this isn't true. Alty's AC1 VA (Philip Shahbaz) COULD do a proper accent (he was from the right part of the world) but was told by Ubisoft not to. His ACR VA (Cas "outed sexual predator" Anvar) is a completely different person.
AC revelation was my very first AC and till this day its my favourite. It has so much storytelling like no other AC. The historical accuracy is good without ruining the fun and I loved how they focused on the political und historical events in this game, it felt like we really did influence history. Also I love how ezio is being shown here. Wise and calm. Fights and climbs good but still we can fell his old age. The development of ezios age is done really good. It has been fun listing to him talking and being himself, but with that exhaust look and voice. Just perfect
At the scene where Yusuf died, at first seeing so many bodies of Templars, i really thought that Sophia pulled off a Claudia from ACB but when I saw the body of Yusuf, that was heartbreaking!
3:20 Good theory, except Altaïr and Ezio are not related so no reason for it being a "DNA thing", I never considered what you mentioned about Desmond being the one seeing Altaïr and that makes all sense. You should totally play AC 1, the the philosophy used in the Memory corridors is brilliant and unique in the whole series, "clunky" combat has its charm and difficulty the only lacking thing would be climbing speed tbh And of course, the Tobuscus reference... Man, that brings me back
20:20 the way I see the saying is the almost if not THE same as Arno Dorian in Unity.”Nothing is true” is something we must accept, there is no real “truth”.If there is,it’s a useless one not worth the effort.”Everything is permitted” is what those who cannot accept that fact will end up thinking.in their search for the “Truth” they will change and bend their morals in hopes for a better chance to find it.The wiki states that’s how Arno views it,as a guide and a warning. We must accept that there is nothing,or we’ll lose ourselves.
I’m looking forward to you eventually (hopefully) making a video for Origins and Odyssey too. They may be radically different from the Ezio Trilogy, but they’re the best AC has to offer in my opinion so I hope you’ll do those ones too! (Haven’t played Valhalla yet)

AC1 does not have outdated gameplay. A lot of people say it does but that's not true. It holds up as much as the Ezio trilogy (obviously this ones have been adding slight improvements over time as you can expect from sequels but the core it's the same). People say the game is outdated because of the mission structure. And I also disagree with that. The game makes you do a set of activities before you can access your target and people usually say that the activities are "repetitive" but that's because the activities aren't the focus of the gameplay, it's the information you get from them. Once you have it, you'll need to use that information to locate your target and plan out your kill. And yes, I mean you, the player. The game isn't going to diplay that information anywhere else. To put it in perspective, is like if the black box missions of Unity were the whole game and it didn't showed to you the different "routes" or "oportunities" you have, it just lets you figure things out for yourself. Edit: Altaïr's VA is different. The one from Rev is not the guy from 1.
I don't know if you read comments but I feel like its worth mentioning in the first game the world outside was described as post apocalyptic and then retconned later to be some sort of "hacker". Which is just a great change of direction cuz eye roll for shoehorned apocalypses.
This game had one of my all time favorite features that so far has never come back! The walk and talk feature, where you just have to move close to your companion and Ezio will keep walking at their pace!

I love you GamingWins and I hope you have the best time of your life. “Remember, drive the speed limit, drink water, and love one another. Pizza”
This is probably one of my fave ac game also can you do mw2019 and watch dogs 1

Ezio's darker robes are meant to represent how far he's come since he was a young man.
I know that sounds kinda contradictory, but it makes sense to me. haha :D
I CONTINOUSLY look forward to your videos & can't wait to see your next one. Always love seeing your POV & the similarities/differences we have. Helps me think even more about a game I love.
Dude I'm so glad I stumbled onto your channel a few months ago, your analysis of my favourite games is amazing and heartwarming, done with a sense of humility I think everyone should aspire towards. Seeing these revionist perspectives on older games that were subject to 'gut reactions' of the time is so refreshing to see. Love the channel and I hope you enjoy making these videos as much as I enjoy watching! Loved to Tobuscus reference btw.
5.28 The parachute was actually invented before Leo by Hezarfen Ahmed Celebi around 17th century in Istanbul
P.S. Apparently it was more of a wing then a parachute
One thing I love about Revelations is that infamy finally means something because NO ONE wants to do the den defenses
I played this in 2012. Such a great game and ending to Al and Ez stories.
Ezio is short enough as is, who's shortening the name to Ez.
Every time i see a gaming win video posted, i swear i smile i always look forward to them
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH 😭
Would have asked you to do a video on the SoulsBorne Universe but I think that even one of its videos would be more than an hour long. Aside from that... too many fanatics like me would have a field day with you if you left out a single thing that _they_ adored and you didn't. Keep up the stellar work, mate
Hey, I'm a recent subscriber and I just want to say that I find your videos incredibly enjoyable, and relatable. At the time of writing this, I'm actually in between career choices myself, and I'm very close to your age as well (21, I recall in another vid you mentioned that you're 22).
All in all, man, I just want you to know that I'm glad I found your channel, you give really good insight, and advice too. You've helped a random person on the internet calm his anxiety-riddled mind down.
If I may recommend a game for you to pick apart, I'm not sure if you'd be into doing so, but the Ori games might be fun.
AC 1 is worth a try. It’s interesting to go back and see where it all started. It is repetitive, and feels like a demo, but beside that, I had a great time.
Agreed. It is quite repetitive, but the story bits are worth experiencing to understand what Altaïr went through during his journey.
Hey I know you might not read this, but id like to say that I’ve been watching all your videos and I can proudly say that I’m all caught up and have seen every video you have made, I think you’re an amazing person and I hope that you never stop what you’re doing, I’m currently living in my car and when I’m feeling down I watch your channel so thank you for all you do your amazing man thank you so so much
The Assassins Creed: Revelations book includes Embers and even includes Ezio going to see Leonardo on his deathbed for the last time
You missed a trick there at 23:05!
16:33 thought so too, especially after i recently saw rise of the beasts
Another nice touch about Desmond's clothes, the colors for the shirt are inverted and his hoodie going from white to black could be seen as his world view literally having been flipped after what he's gone through in the last game.
Yusuf’s origin story to the Assassin/Templar conflict is shown in the novelisation for the 2016 film, one of the Regressions short stories that each of the prominent descendant characters from the film got and detail an Animus session they were in. They all have ancestors who have appeared before in the franchise, and these extra short stories serve to flesh them out a bit more.
Great video! You said everything perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. The Ezio trilogy is still my all time favourite games ever!
Is no one going to mention Ezio and Ahmet fighting while falling?
God bless you I was sad I couldn’t watch this last night when I saw it but thank you!
I love the Tobuscus reference. I remember watching those and waiting for the next ones. Old school TH-cam FTW!
You can actually get the parachute in this game as a reward in AC:B for doing all of Leo's missions. Love seeing the progression of gear.
18:40 that part of the score sounded a lot like the ac3 main theme
10:45 my heart broke, man
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO FRICKING LONG OML THANK YOU FOR FINALLY POSTING THIS!!!!!!
Wake up babe, (I have no babe), new Assassins Creed GamingWins video!
Tbh honest after quitting acb for a while seeing this video gave me hope to finish it in order to play this game
My first Assassins Creed and to this day, my favourite Assassins Creed.
Its just BEAUTIFUL in every aspect...
Ezio trilogy would always be my favourite games. Also, a little thing I noticed, Apple of Eden drives a person insane in a small time. It is a testament to Altair's will power that he kept using it for years without going mad or ambitious himself.
That wagon chase with the Templar captain is still one of my favorite moments from the game
Also, my head canon for Ezio's actions around the 5 minute mark is that he came across the fact that there was water beneath him while he researched Masyaf on his journey. As a wiser man and Assassin, he undoubtedly has learned the importance of knowing what he was walking into.
I love playing the Ezio Trilogy. It makes me feel so happy and I love watching Ezio grow…
I REALLY need to sit down and play these three AC games, I got through most of 2, but never finished. Eventually.
Fun fact, the guy who's bald and tries to hang Ezio at the beginning is voiced by Steve Blum 👌
Cape clad bald guy.
Can someone please refer me to the song at 17:04??? I really cant find it in the plethora of soundtracks Ubisoft has for this game
I love the Tobuscus reference!
One of my top 3 favourite assassin's creeds. First is syndicate second brotherhood then this beauty of a game
One of the first assassin's Creed games I've ever played. Little did I know I would hooked.
Altair IS voiced by someone else, but they should've used the original considering he could do an accent as well.
I find it funny that Brotherhood is my favorite game but revelations is the only one I have beaten
God i can't WAIT for the embers video!
In regards to story in my opinion it did an excellant job in answering all the questions we had up to that point
I love Revelations, and it will always be my favorite of the series. And yes, I loved the tower defense sections too.
You should totally play AC 1, the the philosophy used in the Memory corridors is brilliant and unique in the whole series, "clunky" combat has its charm and difficulty the only lacking thing would be climbing speed tbh
And of course, the Tobuscus reference... Man, that brings me back
13:50 speaking of Dürer, we should get an AC game Set in germany during the 30 years war, maybe make gustavus adolphus an ally of the Assassins
Yusuf's introduction of the hook blade will go down as one of the best AC memes on _history,_ I tell you
I’d love to see your take on Origins. I found it to be the most ‘assassin’ of the newest games but also a fresh take on the series at the same time
9:33 If you love TD games, maybe try out the Bloons TD series.
They're a great time
20:20 the way I see the saying is the almost if not THE same as Arno Dorian in Unity.”Nothing is true” is something we must accept, there is no real “truth”.If there is,it’s a useless one not worth the effort.”Everything is permitted” is what those who cannot accept that fact will end up thinking.in their search for the “Truth” they will change and bend their morals in hopes for a better chance to find it.The wiki states that’s how Arno views it,as a guide and a warning.
We must accept that there is nothing,or we’ll lose ourselves.
Just the video I needed for today love ya man
I’m looking forward to you eventually (hopefully) making a video for Origins and Odyssey too.
Love the callback you made to the tobuscus literal trailer
This game had one of my all time favorite features that so far has never come back! The walk and talk feature, where you just have to move close to your companion and Ezio will keep walking at their pace!
