When F1 top class drivers say that it's one of the coolest things they've done, you can only imagine what it truly feels to be up there and experience this. That says a lot.
With his intelligence, situational awareness and reflexes...he could have easily been a fighter pilot. I have tons of respect for Lewis Hamilton. From the US, cheers!
I remember living on Raf Scampton in quarters with my parents, my Dad was a Chief Radar Tech, i was about 7-8 and i clearly remember going on a Saturday to the front gate and asking at the guardhouse to look around the Lancaster they had on display it was awesome! Also on one occasion there was a family open day and i got to sit in the pilots seat in the Red 2 an amazing memory, some of the best from my childhood. I never realised at the time how lucky i was to see them flying overhead almost every day practising.
I ONCE had a Blue Angels F-18 superhornet fly over my head, no warning. I happened to be sitting on the back deck so I managed to get a big glimpse of it.
I hope it is, but it doesn't make it the best, besides you checked out the Russians lately. RAF Pilots are trained to one of the highest standards in the world, but I don't believe in all this dick measuring, we're allies, we're a damn sight more powerful together, as we need to be.
Two different walks of life living and working in an environment where one can only dream of making the grade but to share that experience for Lewis and David must of been awesome, I feel the need for speed,,,,,,,,,
Love how the captain goes into preflight with a instant metar update and both culthard and Hamilton have the same look like my wife has when I’m getting the airport info before heading to the field for a lesson 😂

They do have two seater F1 cars, one behind the other. How about F1 returning the compliment and take the Pilots round as passengers in a F1 car. A new experience for the pilots. The G forces are comparable.
Of cause I am serious, not as great a G force as a jet fighter but comparable. Need to brush up your Physics, probably the definition of comparable also..
+oldfart4751 I think UK Eurofighter pilots pull up to something like 8/9G on tight turns ( saw this on a Mach Loop vid on TH-cam recently). Doubt F1 guys pull so much, tho could be talking out my arse here.
Jet pilots do pull up to 8/9G, in an F1 up to 5G but they don't where a G suit, this is why it's comparable in that context. Obviously I did not explain myself very clearly in my previous statement.
oldfart4751 F1 cars pull 5G very rarely. Only one perhaps 2 corner the whole season. The average they pull is about 3G which for a car going around a turn, is still a lot. For the pilots, 3-5 G is no problem at all, with or without suit. Pilots are so well trained in dealing with G-Forces, I think they are even miles ahead of F1 drivers in that regard.
An F1 car can accelerate from 60 to 140 in a few seconds but those hawk jets can climb from 100 to 1000 feet in just a few seconds and then accelerate forwards from 200 to 400 in a matter of seconds...
Jet fighter pilots are in deed in another realm of cognition. They have more of a three-dimensional brain and are more cold temper while facing adversity in a dogfight or atleast so it used to be, nowadays synthetic vision helmets and beyond visual range targetable missiles are ruining that military aviation's allure from its la Belle Époque.
Not listening during a flight briefing is the cardinal sin! Your life could depend on knowing the weather, radio frequency, alternative landing point, emergency procedures. In the red arrows, any pilot who has an aircraft problem must clear the formation to avoid endangering his/her fellow pilots. For example,if red 7 suffers a bird strike, the pilot must clear the formation and follow the emergency procedures that were talked over during the pre- flight briefing. Not listening to the briefing could put the pilot/aircrew in very hot, even boiling water!!

Aerospace is truly humanity's greatest achievement.
+EnDSchultz1 Space Exploration
creating what we have now is our greatest achievement
That's why I said "aerospace" and not "aviation".
Aerospace: Air and space. I choose my words carefully.
+EnDSchultz1 You've clearly never watched Brazilian fart porn
Yep... I hope the next thing will be space colonization... Mars here we come...
Ah, 240p. We meet again.
dowkwkwl
We meet just in the 1994... was not that long time ago...
We do in deed

The Best of the Best..what a combination...Perfection..and a great video..

Flying is incredible...
«This is the coolest thing I ever done» -- Lewis Hamilton, F1 Pilot and world champion
he's just appreciating riding in the jet because he'll probably never do it again. people rarely get to ride jets.
now arguably the best f1 driver in history and i bet it still stands as one of the coolest hes ever done
nico wasnt invited because hes, german.
Hahaha!
really your joking but can understand
He claims he’s German for mad reason but think he’s actually Scandinavian lol 😂
The Red Arrows are the best of the best ,the bench mark of team work precision dedication and supreme flying skills
The song at 3:50 is Flight by Hans Zimmer, from Superman.
Although I’m not in Lewis Seat. I can definitely feel the excitement. Can definitely tell there’s nothing like it.
Did anyone else feel quiet sad at the end looking at our fragile planet?
The RAF,. the BEST air force in the world - period. Ok, so I'm biased,.. fuck it. :) RAF,.. I salute you.
Also the first.
Know your History the RAF were not the 1st that belongs to the RAFC Royal Army Flying Corps, who later went on to become the RAF. :)
It is common knowledge that the USAF is the most powerful air force in the world
I hope it is, but it doesn't make it the best, besides you checked out the Russians lately. RAF Pilots are trained to one of the highest standards in the world, but I don't believe in all this dick measuring, we're allies, we're a damn sight more powerful together, as we need to be.
Zack Childress powerful doesn't mean best
The man of steel soundtrack made this all the better :D
When what you do makes the best f1 driver probably ever, feel like a school boy.............. they’ve got the best job on the planet
Two different walks of life living and working in an environment where one can only dream of making the grade but to share that experience for Lewis and David must of been awesome, I feel the need for speed,,,,,,,,,

One of the world’s greatest and famous display teams
Now I know why Lewis got his own red jet!!!
You can be the fastest man on the world but how insignificant and vulnerable you seem when your are in the sky.

Lewis Hamilton and David were so excited,Jim Turner talked so fast,I didn't understand the numbers
You have to earn those red suits
The good old days before Lewis turned woke
Or you can go to the science museum for the exact experience and it is amazing - that's what I did for my bday
coolest thing to ever do is to be a part of the team.....

Music from 4:28?
Fantastic experience. It's been my wish since I was a kid to fly a Red Arrow. You lucky buggers.
36 dislikes though. Why? 240p? Meh, get over it.
How much do one of these cost? I want one.
Spud4X $4.99 not including tax
Spud4X I found this if it is any help. Unit cost = £18 million (2003)
+CODMASTA £3. 40p not including tax British money. LOL
So proud of you guys
Miss my days in the air force. The tingling in the ass when you lose altitude too fast.
BBN is it good i want to fly typhoons when older

Amazing
Music at 3:50?

Steven Perry video-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hvideo-xat1/v/t42.1790-2/11829969_2370888849624958_1815571026_n.mp4?efg=eyJybHIiOjMyMCwicmxhIjo1MTJ9&rl=320&vabr=178&oh=6b7ba2cea6e6ffa25a170766a3b1c408&oe=55D267D1

As they have inexperienced passenger maximum will probz be around 4-6G however on display they will do 8G
and now lewis is headed to silverstone to do the same amount
song: 5:23 please?
Compton Gun by the looks
Definetly better than those blue angels
Couldn't do that now, his high heels would get in the way.
Needs HD !
hello my name is Ron Kennedy.
His F1 dose about 200 mph maybe more than that but the red arrows top speed is about 680 mph a huge difference in speed!

I have never seen Lewis Hamilton fly in a red arrow jet also known as a BEA hawker jet
