Not trying to sound dumb or anything but when it shows the cockpit systems at about 4:29 why are the displays like shaky, is it to do with the camera or so that people don't see how the systems work or something?
Nope, the display flickering originate from the different refresh rates between camera sensor and the screen which is recorded. What you actually see is how the screen is updating/changing the picture it shows. The reason the buttons are flickering is similar. They are illuminated with little LED's. The best way to run LED's in terms of durability is to pulse them instead of keep them constantly on. So you end up with some frames in the final video, where the buttons are not illuminated because of that. The same effect can be seen with modern cars which have LED-Brake lights. If you look at them on videos, you will see some flickering.
44000 lbf of thrust in a small Fighter. Bear in mind the Mig 25 Foxbat( 'Blackbird interceptor') 'Only' had 38000 lbf of thrust and was significantly bigger and heavier.

I was watching F15s taking off from my local airbase RAF Lakenheath. A visiting Typhoon took off and really showed what a unrestricted takeoff really means. RAF really kicked the USAF’s arse that day.
Oh how i dreamed of being a fighter pilot as a schoolboy. Sadly poor eyesight prevented me from applying. How lucky these pilots are to have such a fantastic job. Just awesome
@Typhoonp4unclass . . . .thks for uploading this excellent masterpiece, without a doubt . . . . .this should be the next recruitment video for the RAF fast jets pilots needed campaign!!! What a great advertisement!!.
Bit sad to think that the future of combat aviation is unmanned ships piloted remotely from the ground & with AI, some of the romance of the air will be lost when it's brought in
Early 1950s my father was a rear gunner on Avro Lincolns at RAF Hemswell. He used to get issued flying rations - sandwiches, chocolate & a flask of coffee. He would have the coffee and sandwiches and bring the chocolate back for me. Magic! Glad to see flying rations are still alive and well.
It's funny as well that Herr Lufthansa pilot has to get his knickers in a twist about an aircraft that is actually German, British, Italian And Spanish?? As far as I can make out it is the most advanced if only because it's the most modern - let's hope we never have to use it/them after all Libya hasn't turned out to be the most successful foreign policy intervention in recent years and that was the last place it was used - oh and "frightening" Russian nuclear bombers off.
EJ200 isn't a RR engine but a European joint venture product like the entire aircraft. Many engine modules have been developed in Germany by MTU and Italy by Avio!
@@wanderschlosser1857 EJ200 is based on RR XG-40. The Typhoon is based on British Aerospace's EAP. www.baesystems.com/en/heritage/british-aerospace-eap----experimental-aircraft-programme
@@supermajor2759 Neither is the EJ200 a version of the XG-40 nor is the Typhoon a newer EAP. Yes XG-40 and EAP have been the basis but big parts of the developments for both engine and aircraft came from Germany, Italy and Spain. The LP and HP compressors which are still state of the art, have been developed by German MTU as well as the engine control unit (DECMU), many other modules are developments of Avio and ITP. Of the final EJ200 only a third of the components are RR developments. And a very similar share in technology developments you find on the aircraft.
@@supermajor2759 I'm not Russian and what kind of evidence are you providing? A web link to a Bae website about the EAP? I know that the EAP was a technology development aircraft which provided the basis for the Typhoon but so was the X-31 which was partially developed by MBB who were a 33% partner in the Typhoon development. And with regards of the EJ200 working for one of the developing companies I know for a fact that the concept may be based on the XG-40 but that 2 third of its components have been developed by MTU, Avio and ITP. Typhoon and EJ200 are shared European developments.
those planes have a crazy power to weight ratio, people go on about how good the phantom was etc etc but these new ones will thrash most others out there. Must be so much fun to get to fly one, but those pilots deserve it...they worked hard to get their wings.
When at 4.14 a euro fighter travelliing in the opposite direction passed underneath him and he effortlessly swung it round and was imediatly on its tail I was astounded!! I now see why British pilots say if they have to go to war, this is the plane they want to be in!

bowser515 James May understandable but Suzi Perr just why?
Turn rate instantaneous, is exactly 28.5º/sec, full 9g's
That is better then the Flanker....so go Eurofighter!
I know nowadays ITR is considered more improtant but, what about its STR?
Boris D My god, ITR you can only sustain for like 150 to 180º's
STR is needed because it's energy performance
and if your in a F-15...you can sustain that performance until your out of fuel or G-LOC
but yeah, ITR and STR are no more important or less important then each other
remember...
a F-15 and F-16 and Eurofighter dominate in BFM because
they have outstanding instant and sustained turn rates and superior Ps to Flankers and Fulcrums
You hear a lot about instant because it's the fastest and tightest turn
really, so people will judge on that
but trust me
even with full afterburners cooking?
There is a TON of drag induced into the instant so it is wise to hit instant and go to 180º's
because usually after 250 knots? your aircrafts instant turn rate drops like a brick and a stall can occur but usually your radius opens up and rate falls down to which you become a "grape"(which a grape refers to a grape rip for picking-i.e to be shot down by another enemy fighter with better performance at that time)
so it's best to use Instant to line up a shot, get out of trouble, turn into a opponent and get into a steep climb quickly evade threats.
sustained is truly BFM, albeit it's usually at faster speeds....it is slower and the radius is wider then the Instant
but you can sustain it longer and if your thrust to drag ratio is 1:1 like the F-15's is(which even at combat weight it has a thrust to drag ratio of 1:1)
pretty much means you can hold this performance until again out of fuel or G-loc
so sustained and instant should be equally as important
if you know planes
and BFM
they are both needed...equally
a instant turn fighter is good but poor energy management and harder to fly but again it has über good instant turn performance...but has poor sustained and harder to fly(a good example of this is the F-104 the heavy stubby winged fighter)
a sustained fighter has better stability and easier to fly and has also better energy and BFM but lacks in the quick turns of a instant which can be deadly in air to air being that a poorer energy and sustained rate of turn fighter albeit better rate and radius then can quickly out turn that fighter and pretty much out dive and roll back gain energy and out turn a sustained fighter(like the MiG-21 which was really good at sustained or at least better then the heavier F-4 albeit it has energy bleeding problems worse then any soviet fighter..even the MiG-17 has better energy which the MiG-21 proved to be good at instant but against other fighters like a F-8 it proved to have energy in the BFM)
so ITR and STR must always be considered
because a fighter that lack in one but is good in the other can be out matched quickly and has a serious disadvantage and it's "shot time" to make a kill or any time to make a kill is much lower and opportunities to do so are much lower.
but a good example of a energy fighter is the F-15A/B/C/D
which A: had extremely tight turn radiuses and extremely fast turn rates so it could out turn it;s counter parts which is why some Eagle pilots are so cocky
but it matches energy performance of the EM theory to give good thrust to drag and wing design for instant turn advantage as well as a good sustained turn performance. that is why a eagle pilots favorite thing to do is suck a enemy plane into a turn..knowing that no plane other then the Raptor and Eurofighter(for sustained at least) can match his turn rate and sustain it but like a MiG-29 vs F-15C
F-15C can out turn a MiG-29 and sustain that performance
while the MiG-29 will bleed it's energy and open it's radius tus becoming a grape
a good example of this is when a F-15A and F-15B's fought French F-1's
F-1's believed to out turn this fighter where surprised to find out they had a lower T/W and T/D ratio's and a couple instances where the Eagle out turned them so quickly....that they didn't even believe it..due to it's size...but like the Su-27...it turn well not as much as a F-15C MSIP II(F-100-220 DEEC) engine but very close too
it's massive and it turns well
but yeah, I hope you learned something
never sacrifice one to over strengthen the other.

I am there sitting playing BF4 next thing i know i hear this thunder and it keeps going and going my windows start shaking and shit at this point i think russia has just sent a nuke over... i got outside and i see one of these fucking around and i remember the air show was on hahaha
I am just happy us brits have these amazing pilots and planes protecting are shores so we can sleep easy at night I will stick to my snack bar making bacon sandwiches hate flying hate Heights I get sick on a thick carpet
Brilliant!!!!!....such a shame there's not the same low flying as there was. Used to see the Tornadoes flying low over in the West coast of Scotland and the Highlands regularly when I was a kid.....it still makes me drop everything to desperately catch a glimpse of these awesome machines when you hear them get close!!!!!.... fantastic.... And a fantastic video!!!!!
If this was a video game I for one would refuel then shoot down the tanker for entertainment. Do RAF pilots ever feel tempted to do that in real life?
fluchter1996 They do that in the simulator, believe me.
If you guys like these videos you should check out +Pirate Murph he is a Hawk pilot for 100 squadron.
Wish these guys luck...think they might need it now ..
0:51, LIKE A BOSS :D
Which 96 idiots voted this fantastic footage down.its a brilliant piece and love it.
I was watching F15s taking off from my local airbase RAF Lakenheath. A visiting Typhoon took off and really showed what a unrestricted takeoff really means. RAF really kicked the USAF’s arse that day.
my erectile disfunction has been cured. many thanks x
Congratulations to the British. That is a fierce awesome plane. We love you folks!
Oh how i dreamed of being a fighter pilot as a schoolboy. Sadly poor eyesight prevented me from applying. How lucky these pilots are to have such a fantastic job. Just awesome
My favourite all time fighter flying it must be like banging miss world 🌍👌👌👌👌😋
too right buddy! so glad we now have a super fighter,
Just how bloody good was that...
Truly amazing guys...
Thank you 👍👍👍👍
God bless the RAF!!!! Brings tears of pride to my eyes. The acceleration at 3.00 blows me away.
@Typhoonp4unclass . . . .thks for uploading this excellent masterpiece, without a doubt . . . . .this should be the next recruitment video for the RAF fast jets pilots needed campaign!!! What a great advertisement!!.
Great. I am 28 years old and now I want to be a pilot.
Haha, me too now!
So just join the air force
Buğra Özkan I am an airline pilot and its the best. Keep studying and work hard its very rewarding.
Bit sad to think that the future of combat aviation is unmanned ships piloted remotely from the ground & with AI, some of the romance of the air will be lost when it's brought in
UK run the world! I mean we got James Bond ffs!
that was sensational
just had loads fly over me even a 2 seater version check my channel
RAF has world class aircraft and is a world class team. The video is stunning and inspiring - Ex RAF
That typhoon helmet is super weird. That shape at the back also seems totally unnecessary
The area at the back of the helmet has some top secret stuff in it which allows the pilot to see below the aircraft. Google BAE Striker II helmet.
Nicholas Warner: Lufthansa? Probably you mean Luftwaffe. Lufthansa is a German airline.
+Gufo_Tave I'm pissing 😂😂😂
Definitely flying low level through the lake district... I recognise that weather any where 😂
I've watched this dozens of times and it's still fab to watch and good soundtrack. 10/10 and those takeoffs...!
Merlin and Griffon engines during WW2, now the EJ200. Rolls Royce rocks.
@@wanderschlosser1857 I provide you with incontrovertible evidence and you ignore it. Are you Russian?
@@supermajor2759 I'm not Russian and what kind of evidence are you providing? A web link to a Bae website about the EAP? I know that the EAP was a technology development aircraft which provided the basis for the Typhoon but so was the X-31 which was partially developed by MBB who were a 33% partner in the Typhoon development. And with regards of the EJ200 working for one of the developing companies I know for a fact that the concept may be based on the XG-40 but that 2 third of its components have been developed by MTU, Avio and ITP. Typhoon and EJ200 are shared European developments.
Brilliant video, would be better without that shite playing along with it ! The Typhoon makes it's own music
With constant defence cuts there are only 5 squadrons of the Typhoon in the RAF they are the modern day "FEW", lest we forget!
those planes have a crazy power to weight ratio, people go on about how good the phantom was etc etc but these new ones will thrash most others out there. Must be so much fun to get to fly one, but those pilots deserve it...they worked hard to get their wings.
Imagine seeing that jet as your driving throughthe lake district. awsome
2:55 best unrestricted climb. Looks like ham, cheese and abit of pickle sarnie. Nice.
Pilot is like, screw this. It's so boring
A pilot needs to feed as well... who knew 🤔😄
When at 4.14 a euro fighter travelliing in the opposite direction passed underneath him and he effortlessly swung it round and was imediatly on its tail I was astounded!! I now see why British pilots say if they have to go to war, this is the plane they want to be in!
Thank you so much for sharing this . I am jealous in a good way . Can't imagine how much enjoyment you feel . Sad these Typhoon's have to be used in Battle . But am thankful if that time comes . Great flying awesome views TY
das sind tolle menschen. da sie für uns sind. unserem land.
