I was a door gunner on a Huey and it is exciting, but scary as hell when you hear those bullets hitting all around you and there is nothing to stop them except metal, meat, and bones. It's not a glorious thing son. But, as an American, I'm glad you British are our friends. You have great warriors in your country.

Fantastic video, that really shows how focussed the guys & girls are in our forces.
We are eternally indebted to you all for your efforts, you are all hero's in my eyes.
The public should fully support our forces, whether you agree with the politicians or not is another matter, the guys & girls at the dirty end of the job are putting thier lives at risk every day, there can be no greater sacrifice.
Thank you to all of you.

Somewhere out there there's the vid of them pulling him out for evac. It's on apacheclips at the very least. It's a shame they couldn't save him but the crew did an amazing job getting through that checklist, I've never heard a checklist go that fast, they did their best. R.I.P. brother

Only 19 years old. He has made such a sacrifice for us. I think it is appalling how it almost is fashionable to slate the War nowadays. I don't care what people say, the men/women out there are doing it for us so we should at least respect their sacrifice.

Fair play we've all flown with "CRAB AIR",chunted at the load master and winded up the pilots slagging them off on our flash cards. But at the end of the day when push comes to the shove these boys know how to fly these old war horses and have a thankless job.Respect and thanks to the pilots who evacuated Pte Grey

Why do so many have to die for a cause that's unjust? If Pte Gray could communicate across the grave, would he see his death as timely and a worthy sacrifice, or would he believe he died in vain? As much as I hate to say it, the latter is more realistic than the former. The Taliban are just as strong as ever and show no sign of giving up. Afghanistan is more dangerous and divided than ever. I feel terrible when soldiers get used as pawns for political ends.

attacks in NY, London and Madrid were not perpetreted by Afghans nor Iraquis, so why are you waisting time there? while the criminals are free and undisturbed in some city very far form this battle fields.
the threat from Afghanistan which is an stone age country is almost none, the real reason is money and politics and to send a young man like Gray to die for that should be a crime, what shame, 20 years old!! almost a kid sacrificed for nothing!
