A $2000 security system would actually hinder him. He’s literally blind so the cameras would be useless, also if the criminals set off the alarm, he’d be at a huge disadvantage because he needs complete silence.
And a system that automatically calls the police would mean a cop might notice he suddenly has a daughter
He did that alr in 1 but the robbers countered it and used it on him
Silent Alarm; Once sensors/cameras detect motion indoors, his smart watch or phone vibrates ~ possibly in specific patterns to indicate which room the alarm was triggered

He had a security system. That was literally the plot of the first movie. The kids stole the keys to his house from the security system control company to break into his house.
You gotta remember the blind man had an alarm system in the first movie…the three burglars were able to use it to their advantage so that’s probably why he doesn’t have it in the second movie.
Gotta feel for the girl. Discovered that both of her fathers are insane, and even ends up killing one of them.

I just have one tiny thing that would make sense; The veteran used mostly revolvers, which is used by loading bullets into the slots individually. But if he used a standard pistol, all he would need to do is take out a magazine and put a fresh one in, making it far easier to reload for a blind man.
1. The alarm system would put the blind man at a disadvantage, even if it was a special type of alarm for blind ppl
2. He IS the alarm system.. I’m willing to bet he prefers his natural danger sense as opposed to technological sensors, bc a war vet who’s as accomplished as him stubbornly believes in their own self defense mechanisms rather than tools, deep inside it’s also a pride thing with them feeling confident in their abilities which i find dope asf

I really enjoyed this movies especially the first part. The writer is very talented because he manipulated my feelings throughout the movie.
The old man becomes a victim at the beginning of the movie and end up being the villain at the end. Such a brilliant way to keep your audience in suspense.
I would have loved to see this movie but I am scared as heck by even what hes DESCRIBING, and like- i dont really want to be tramutized so this is probably the safest option for me---
I just love the vet in this story. He's a really cool badass seal
I realize just how amazing this story is, it's not the cliche victim or the cliche villain. The old man now seems to be the victim though at the same time he is still a villain, and the thugs are overall the villain but still have hints that they're actually kind of the victim. You don't see a lot of stories like that

At first I thought the blind man truly was a monster. But due to the plot twist of the girl's biological parents, I quickly changed my mind.

This movie was a fucking trip. The entire plot was so much more original than I had expected, the acting and writing was fantastic, literally everything. Stephen Lang deserves an award for this series

14:27 Remember that The Veteran was critically wounded in the last movie and may have lost a lot of money in medical bills and so doesn't have money to spare. Also he may not trust in security companies because the crew in the first movie broke in using a skeleton key.
Also the steel cage might've just been a temporary stopgap until he could build a proper panic room, there is plenty of space around the cage for such a room. I assumed the box was there so she would instinctively know to run to this location in the future should she be overwhelmed.

Don't Breathe 1 was the reason he doesn't have a security system. They got in even though he had one. Plus it put him at a disadvantage when the alarm was on full blast.

Seeing the navy SEAL trident gave me chills cause my dad was also a SEAL in a Vietnam but died in '09 . He died when I was young so he didn't teach me alot about survival but he did teach me how to defend my self and a series of certain hits to certain areas can kill a person if you don't have a weapon to use. More importantly he was the best father I could ever ask for. I would do anything to be able to hug him again. If your parents are still alive , tell them you love them as much as possible because nobody is guaranteed tomorrow

"Don't Breath 2" is a terrific movie, Stephen Lang is such a badass, and the little girl was
no slouch either. But there are a couple of things you got really wrong. One: the superglue.
There are easily available over-the-counter instant glue types (they're low cost too), - and
these things are downright dangerous. Very much so. And it is explicitly stated on the
tube itself. It takes about 3 seconds for it to set in after connection, and then it's bye-bye.
If you're underestimating the instant glue and working without proper gloves - you're
guaranteed to rip of some of the skin from your fingertips. Pouring as much of that stuff
over someone's nose and mouth as the movie shows - is a death sentence, unless you
cut off the lips themselves, and cut off the nose - another way to die of blood loss,
unless an ER surgeon helps. There is no cutting through that kind of glue. No way.
Another thing is a dog. Dog is THE best security system there is, and by that i mean
a properly trained guard dog, like Malinois or Doberman. Speaking from experience.
It is not a perfect system, nor is it a complete one - but standalone - it is better than
any computer, because it cannot be hacked. A trained guard dog will not take food
from strangers and will not fall for cheap tricks seen in some movies. The only way
to stop a dog like that - is to shoot it. And if you're going to be robbed by a team
which is prepared well enough to shoot a guard dog that lunges in absolute silence
out of nowhere, indoors - as in CQB - then they're gonna rob you anyway.
Of course, combining physical protection, electronic and a guard dog (or two) -
is best, but as a single element - a properly trained guard dog contributes the most.
John Wick but in a weird moral situation
The blind man is actually really smart for not relying on a security system because he’s teaching her survival skills for if the world goes into a blackout or if people decide to attack when there’s a power outage. So honestly props to him!

To be fair the woman he kidnap and was going to by force insemination did kill his little daughter in a hit and run. Which means someone ran over a child and kept driving. That is pretty evil. However when that woman died he was going to do the same to another young woman because she thought the other woman was innocent and needed help. Even though that same woman also was going to rob a blind old war veteran who lives all alone. Not really evil but still kind of fu^k up. Than again she only rob the guy to help her love one. So who right here?

It's now my head canon that the veteran in this movie is an older agent 47 from Hitman.

When you mention home security you put cameras around the house in the image, forgetting that he is blind and won’t be able to see the footage, motion sensors however would be the only thing needed for him, he could have them make a certain tone of beep to alert different places inside and outside of the house therefore always giving him the advantage of knowing where everyone is

I knew the loving parents that lost their daughter was full of crap when I noticed: If they love her so much, why do they keep trying to kill her? And if they knew where she was, any normal person would call the cops, not have a convoluted mission.
IKR, i didnt trust the mother. The father knew that the girl was going to leave thats why he said “You aren’t a prisoner anymore”.When the girl was about to leave, the mother randomly appeared and started singing. I started having a bad feeling.
But also why would they try to kill her in the house if they need her for the operation? Maybe filling the metal box was just a scare tactic?

The part with the alarm system and the cameras had me rolling. Yeah the alarm sound can go off, but really if a blind man had cameras that would be the most ironic part of the system and the movie entirely

I guess it would be ok if he was slowly becoming good guy as movie progressed or the franchise progressed, But being the good guy from the first minute of the movie despite in previous one being the antagonist is a bad decision.
He wasn't exactly a villain in the first movie, trouble is in this one he is immidietly good.

He wasn't down right evil, and the woman who he kept as a slave murdered his child.
That doesn't mean his actions were exactly... Justifiable, it simply means he wasn't basically William Birkin of the series.
