@26:16, Also, her roommate is the one that suggested she stay in her room. Hence, she was the only one that knew she would be there, so she is the killer.
The thing about this time loop power is that we will still have to put "staying alive" as our top priority. The reason is that there is no guarantee that there isn't a cap on the number of times we are allowed to die, or the power won't just randomly switch off, resulting in us dying for real.
That’s why you try to survive everytime, never give up and just try again in the next loop 🔁 or simply just go to the police tell ‘em you’re the target of a murder and ask for protection just for 24 hrs
I think the first step to beating this time loop...is to not back off when you get a good hit on the killer. Keep swinging! Fight or flight is definitely a tough thing to deal with. But no matter the tracking ability, but the killer in this case is clearly sloppy and should be just straight up beatable. Heck, even if somehow the hammer fails in this case she can at least prepare a better weapon. The only issue I'd have with the "run away and live free" option is that there's no way to know if the loops continue after that day. Escaping the killer immediately is fine, but if they still catch up to her later and the looping magic is gone...uh oh.
Yeah Spoilers from the Sequel The Loops are Being Caused By a Experimental Timemachine Cartes Friend is Creating,Theressa was Just Lucky They Turn on The Thing on Her Death Day,if She escaped and the Killer Followed Her,She Would have died

@@Echs_D33 No I completely get that part but it just doesn't make sense if that was the case the serial killer would have got sucked in the time loop as well, the fake one not the real one obviously.
The time loop is actually a good thing, she has infinite respawns to redo the failed mission over and over again until she finally beats it. Think about it.
Interesting analysis. Although Theresa didn't optimize the time loops, she went about it well enough to have a positive ending. I'm glad! I was expecting a negative ending considering the time loops wouldn't have lasted forever.
Considering how she’s able to dodge and also land critical hits on the murderer, I’m disappointed that she didn’t continue slamming the hell out of the murderer when she had the chance! Not only is it self defense (and can be proven with evidence) she can also find out the murderer’s identity.
Only issue I’d say is it would be challenging at first to know if the killer was targeting you specifically or if the killer was going to attack anyone who went thru the tunnel, as there was no guarantee she would walk past the construction zone
Which is why it was weird she thought it was the escaped serial killer. One thing that had been established in all the loops either through the music box, the candle to bow up the car, the killing at her surprise party is that the killer knows its her birthday. It is automatically someone in her social circle.
Honestly, your video quality gets me every single time. Each film is individually well thought out and they never feel rushed. You'll be a channel to remember!
I originally thought while watching this movie that her actions during the day were affecting who the killer was. That's why I thought the killer just kept on getting to her
I'd bet Cinema Summary would be the first person to freak out and freeze at a situation. Like, it's super easy to figure out what you would do in hindsight, but thinking over things this heavily probably just leaves him regretting every missed opportunity in a scary situation which would lead to him missing more opportunities, and freaking out more and so on and so on.
I'm glad you did this movie, which is much harder since Tree is already trying out a lot of different ways to survive. You had to come up with ways out of the loop that she hadn't already tried. This movie reminds me of a series that was on for like a season and a half ( back when you had about 22 shows a year) called "Tru Calling". It starred Eliza Dushku (Faith from BtVS) as a morgue worker who had the power to go back in time when one of the corpses came in and asked for help. She essentially had to do what Tree did, which is remember details from her day, then find the person who died and try to prevent it from happening again, using just the information she gleaned from their body before her day rewound and started over. It was a fun concept so I was sad it didn't last longer as a series.
This movie and its sequel were so fun, I didn't expect much from them when I watched it, but it was a great viewing experience. I hope you'll tackle Freaky, it's from the same director, and it's about a girl switching bodies with the killer trying to get her.

There's a chance that all those time loops took a toll on her and so she might think her memory might become impaired so therefore she wrote them down again to make sure she knew they were crossed off?
Keep note that these methods of surviving is only aplicable if you have the same odds as hers, and that includes; 1. Extroverted life 2. Lots of friends 3. A good one night stand 4. A doctor who'd do just about anything 5. Lives in campus (or any suburban area, really) 6. Carter I think it'd be more interesting if we're to survive the time loops (or any future life-threatening occasion really) with our own life circumstances.
Let's do this on HARD MODE, 3 strikes and you're out. We start with loop#1 since this entire thing is rather new it would probably have no investigation done and considered just a bad dream. In the end the best thing we can get out of loop#1 is a slightly different route and confirmation of the loop. Loop#2 is the point were shit hits the fan. You have confirmation and have to address the following questions: - Can you break the loop? - How to break the loop? - Does the loop end if you reach the next morning? - Who is the killer? - Are you even alive or is this you limbo and you are supposed to die over and over again? Let's cross a couple questions. We can remove No.1&5 because there is no way to confirm them other than breaking the loop. No.3 is a pure gamble, you could jump back even weeks after you survive the night. This leaves us with No.2&4 who go hand in hand. You have no possible way to understand the loop but you know the killer will restart it, so your only solution right at this moment is to find the killer. Every potential aftermath is out of your hand unless you get rid of that constant. So you probably just wasted half of your last day figuring that stuff out, what next? Your timeline at this point is likely already altered, so you can't rely on a consistent trap but you haven't played your trump card yet. *Misinformation* Analyse the last two days, where were you and did you see potential suspects. Lure them into place by announcing you are first visiting a crowded place but after that a private silent location. Secure the private location the moment you spread that information. You can't go to the police in advance, it just might get you killed a month later, help is also not an option unless you 150% can rule out a suspect. I'm not saying go full blown Home Alone but cleaning chemicals can mix to some really toxic gas for example, just get creative, not everyone has access to guns. Lastly the backup plan: Visit an internet cave, school computer or any other non traceable devise and leave your story. You might die that night forever but never underestimate the power of 3 million 4chan users finding your killer!
The protagonist in this movie could have avoided all of this by double tapping. There were a couple of occasions where she managed to strike the killer. If instead of striking once and trying to escape she would have just double tapped the killer and finished the person off she would have been fine.
he probably rewatches scenes multiple times and stays hours thinking to possible solutions. and thats why it would be impossible to survive any horror movie, because no one could think about those ideas especially when under pressure, have no time to think and have 1 life (because unlike this movie, in other ones u have just one try). so all the ideas he makes would be useless he just make protagonists look dumb cuz they couldn't get it
Like the other said it involves repeated rewatching, but there’s also a difference in watching a movie for entertainment compared to watching it for analysis. It’s common for people who work on movies to be unable to enjoy movies for entertainment, because instead of seeing the film in a flat manner, they instead automatically notice the design process and how those affect the results. You might see a big explosion and think “woah, such a cool explosion”, but a VFX artist would see the explosion and instead notice what errors there were, whether the lighting or shading was accurate, how it was framed in the scene, and other technical aspects. Same happens with literature and video games - when you become a creator, you see everything through a creator’s perspective, which is very different than that of an average consumer/watcher.
If you’re being stalked by a hat wearing killer with a finger knife glove who attacks you inside your dreams, please press two and please stay on the line.
26:50 But wait, if you killing him DID trigger a loop for him as well. The loops end when you kill your killer right? After he’s done solving your loop, he’d have to kill you to get out of his, if the logic was consistent. Sure he wouldn’t be killed every day like you, but at the end of his life he’d end up back on your birthday and probably wouldn’t appreciate that after 1-10 loops.
I'm not sure if its state by state, but you have to wait 2 weeks (or longer) in order to get a hand gun. Fill out paperwork and it goes to the proper place and has to be accepted. I think you are able to get shotguns the same day though. Well, where I live you can get shotguns the same day. :)
I live in the US and you cant just go to a sporting goods store or local gun shop and get a gun the same day. The mass media in this country loves to portray that idea. They need to do an extensive background check on you before you can purchase one.
I have an idea with the car alarm, instead of using the car to get out, use the car as a distraction. The killer thinks that the girl is trying to get to the car, so use it as an advantage.
I remember having nightmares when an ad for this was played during the super bowl, so I'm happy for the chance to see it to be meticulously broken down to the point of irrelevance.
One of the horrifying horror movies i genuinely think i could survive Edit: also very confused as to why the doctor was ever even considered a suspect after we watched him be murdered by the killer.
10:30 there’s still a mandatory waiting period, background check and everything else. You can’t just waltz in with a fistful of dollars and walk out with a firearm. On top of that, since they’re being tracked, the killer would know they are trying to get a gun.
@@Tyway most fun show vendors these days are ffls and are required to check IDs you could find some that aren’t but it isn’t as reliable as one would think.
14:00 Actually, since the damage done to your body doesn't repair, living a long and full life somewhere were the murderer can't get to you, would result in you eventually dying, and waking up on your birthday when the death loop started as an old woman with all the chronic conditions that you acquired over that period. So you won't have long to live or be able to do much on the next loop or any subsequent loops. But you will prove definitively that the death loop is real and advance the natural sciences by leaps and bounds, assuming that you can prove who you really are with a DNA sample or dental records. Otherwise, you will just get institutionalized on your next loop or have to live under a fake name without identification. Either way, its not going to be as good as Cinema Summary makes it sound. 19:00 going into a crowded area for protection is actually a bad idea. The more people are around, the less responsible each individual will feel to help, because someone else could help if they really wanted to. Plus, if they look and see that nobody else is intervening, then they will think that everyone else knows something that they don't, like this being a web series being filmed or a publicity stunt, and decide not to intervene.
If anyone is interested I was at a friend’s house and I dropped it in a massage chair while it was moving and it crushed it. It doesn’t work anymore :/
You've definitely gotten on the right track with the extortion and gun purchase (can't believe I'm suggesting that lol) but it will also heavily depend on WHERE the college is located. If she's in a state with highly restrictive gun laws (there are several), you NICS check could be delayed up to 3 days. In many states, you can easily go to an FFL holding dealer with cash, fill out the ATF 4473 (NICS instant background check) and walk out with your new firearm within an hour as long as you are over 21 and have no prior criminal convictions, involuntary psychiatric holds, or restraining orders. If we assume that she's in a restrictive location, she could still do virtually the same process with a private seller where there is no NICS requirement or potential delays. It's not like she'll be able to wait the 3 days before begin killed again, so that would easily be the best bet. (And yes, I'm aware that most states only require you be 18 to purchase a long gun, but that's going to be much more difficult to carry or conceal.) She also has the option of buying a non-firearm such as a black powder revolver if there's no other way to procure a modern pistol. $2000 is more than enough to get whatever gun you want so if she COULD come up with that kind of money, I would suggest buying both a cheap rifle and a cheap handgun as well as ammunition for both. That would also provide enough money to get a stab-resistant vest as well, seeing as the killer prefers blades. Good stuff though. That's also why I always recommend everyone have a gun on them at all times.
The dumbest thing about Tri is not that she didn't figure out who the killer was, but the fact that she TOLD her that she knew... like what are you doing?! Just accept the cupcake, pretend to be normal and go to the police with it XD

Yeah
Spoilers from the Sequel
The Loops are Being Caused By a Experimental Timemachine Cartes Friend is Creating,Theressa was Just Lucky They Turn on The Thing on Her Death Day,if She escaped and the Killer Followed Her,She Would have died
Step one: buy gun
Step zero: be born in America
Step 2:never trust your friend to make things for you
Step three: buy a tank
STEP 4: Take his knife
STEP 5: Have cops on speed dial!
The only questionable idea you had was killing Carter, he clearly dies multiple times during the loops and I don't see how us killing him would have any different affect then any of the other times he dies.
He never dies by our hand though, so his point was that maybe us killing Carter could bring him into our death loop.
Stress relief?
He would die early tho

Average MrBeast opening line, the only difference is that they'll be no real deaths in a MrBeast video
The time loop is actually a good thing, she has infinite respawns to redo the failed mission over and over again until she finally beats it. Think about it.

Hope you’re doing good man love your comments
Not infinite since each death puts more and more stress on her body
yeah dude watch the video
Wouldn’t it be clear by the second time since she took a different route tho?
Wasn't it already clear with the cupcake
Which is why it was weird she thought it was the escaped serial killer. One thing that had been established in all the loops either through the music box, the candle to bow up the car, the killing at her surprise party is that the killer knows its her birthday. It is automatically someone in her social circle.

Good guy Cinema Summary: Calls the killer “he” to not ruin the twist.

Keep note that these methods of surviving is only aplicable if you have the same odds as hers, and that includes;
1. Extroverted life
2. Lots of friends
3. A good one night stand
4. A doctor who'd do just about anything
5. Lives in campus (or any suburban area, really)
6. Carter
I think it'd be more interesting if we're to survive the time loops (or any future life-threatening occasion really) with our own life circumstances.
Honestly yeah thanks for pointing that out
Let's do this on HARD MODE, 3 strikes and you're out.
We start with loop#1 since this entire thing is rather new it would probably have no investigation done and considered just a bad dream. In the end the best thing we can get out of loop#1 is a slightly different route and confirmation of the loop.
Loop#2 is the point were shit hits the fan. You have confirmation and have to address the following questions:
- Can you break the loop?
*Misinformation*
Analyse the last two days, where were you and did you see potential suspects.
During one of the time loops when she died from the explosion, you can see the cupcake candle in the killers hand which gave it away for me.
It is a different colored candle tho. The killer blew her up with a blue candle and the cupcake had a red candle. But ig it could be a clue too
Also she had at least 2 instances where she could have killed or incapacitated the killer(club and hammer) but chose to run instead
This feels like a discussion I would hear in Scream.
The protagonist in this movie could have avoided all of this by double tapping. There were a couple of occasions where she managed to strike the killer. If instead of striking once and trying to escape she would have just double tapped the killer and finished the person off she would have been fine.
7:07 I love how the masked person is amber heard 😂😂😂

How does Cinema Summary notice so much detail in one scene? That is quite literally a talent.
he probably rewatches scenes multiple times and stays hours thinking to possible solutions. and thats why it would be impossible to survive any horror movie, because no one could think about those ideas especially when under pressure, have no time to think and have 1 life (because unlike this movie, in other ones u have just one try). so all the ideas he makes would be useless he just make protagonists look dumb cuz they couldn't get it
Movie commentators spend hours rewatching movies scene by scene before doing a review. You don't want to overlook details.
There's ways to train your brain to take in a lot of information quickly. It might take some time but it's possible.

Every state does a background check… this guy is a stupid liberal with no idea about gun laws.
I can never tell if this guy actually figures out who the killer is, or he just watches the whole movie, and acts like he found out who it is.
Neither. He watches it all, then simply backtracks into how one could beat said scenario.
He does a hybrid. It’s clear to see when he just uses hindsight from watching the movie from times where he suggests what to do next.
"If you're trapped in a timeloop where you're being murdered every single day, what would you do?"
bargain.
fax id try to be friends bro
dormammu, i've come to bargain
Hahaha! Good one.
" With no idea she was about to get brutally murdered"
That is how brutal murders work some of the time.
Honestly, cinema summary is probably my favorite recap TH-camr😄
I remember having nightmares when an ad for this was played during the super bowl, so I'm happy for the chance to see it to be meticulously broken down to the point of irrelevance.
One of the horrifying horror movies i genuinely think i could survive
Edit: also very confused as to why the doctor was ever even considered a suspect after we watched him be murdered by the killer.
12:30 This transition is always blows my mind. So smooth.
10:30 there’s still a mandatory waiting period, background check and everything else. You can’t just waltz in with a fistful of dollars and walk out with a firearm.
On top of that, since they’re being tracked, the killer would know they are trying to get a gun.
Not everywhere has mandatory waiting periods lots of states can have background checks done in 15-30 minutes
You can go to a yard sale or gun show and walk out with one. No questions asked.
@@Tyway most fun show vendors these days are ffls and are required to check IDs you could find some that aren’t but it isn’t as reliable as one would think.

Already watched this movie but because cinema summary videos are so good I'll gladly watch it again.
If you can predict your killer's move, this is literally a massive advantage
It's easy to be a detective when you know already whats going to happen.
A lot of this advice may seem evil but if your stuck in a time loop where you constantly die, you ain't have a lot of potions. Good video!

The movie does take place in Louisiana, so you won't have to wait for a long time for the background check to be processed.
Why didn't she just smash the killer with the hammer when he was down?
