Although I regard him highly you would not want to play against someone like that.
Byron was a beast, loved him when he was at Port. I hated it when people ( especialy cow supporters ) would say his dirty, Byron was never a dirty player he was tough but fair, a good football player.

The reason for not wearing pads is because this is a game of free flowing movement padding restricks movement. This is not a game of set plays and commitie meetings where of a game that last 2-3 hours you get 11 12 minutes of a real play, thats NFL. Our game is 120 minutes of non stop full contact ( with limits ) action, the only time we see ads is if its qtr time half time 3qtr time or if a goal has been scored and thats a quick 30 sec back to the game.

My dad was playing footy about 25 years ago and got a really bad knee to the face but he kept play for two more quarters went back to the change room and had a really bad head ache so he squeezed his head/face turns out he shattered her eye socket/cheekbone and ended up popping out his eye
