Tout est beau dans cet enregistrement, la chapelle du château de Fontainebleau, les voix de ces deux merveilleux chanteurs, la captation parfaite du son et le tournage des techniciens qui savent choisir chaque image nécessaire à chaque moment. La direction de Nathalie Stutsmann est parfaite.
Je ne me lasse pas de réentendre cette merveille à intervalles réguliers.

Breathtaking! The first duet sounded like the singers were of one voice; incredibly beautiful. And throughout the hymn, I have never heard such incredible compatibility of voices and instruments. I am grateful to the composer, conductor, musicians, and the singers!

Je découvre cet enregistrement avec Emöke Barath et Philippe Jaroussky et je suis éblouie par tant d'harmonie dans les voix et de profondeur dans l'interprétation. Une oeuvre bouleversante que j'écoute depuis l'adolescence et qui touche au sublime ici. Le Stabat mater de Pergolèse, les voix si bien accompagnées par l'orchestre transporte la musique de la Terre jusqu'au Ciel.
C'est curieux mais comme pour vous, le Stabat Mater de Pergolese squatte mon bocal bancal depuis mes 17 ans. J'en ai à présent 47 mais rien n'a changé ! Comme un perpétuel émerveillement ❤
Ce n'est pas tant l'interprétation et les voix des musiciens, mais plus le côté sacré et les paroles avant tout destinées à Sainte Marie qui m'émerveille le plus. Pas étonnant que cela touche au sublime !

My second time around abandoning myself to this performance. It is perfection. Emöke Barath is totally invested in her performance and the timbre of her voice is absolutely thrilling. Jaroussky of course is non pareil. So grateful to have this masterwork here to return to, it is healing to the soul. Bravi!

Philippe Jaroussky est mon chanteur baroque préféré depuis 1999 quand j'avais acheté son album avec Gérard Lesne, Sedecia de Scarlatti...la meilleure version du Stabat Mater de Pergolesi pour moi...

@@daniellefoucaut8325 - Bien sûr que ça chante une sirène!! L'expression fait référence à l'Odyssée d'Ulysse, où ce dernier a affronté des sirènes. Ces dernières sont des créatures marines, réputées pour leur chant magnifique et envoûtant, auquel on ne pouvait pas résister. Ainsi, on utilise cette expression pour qualifier le fait que l'on cède à quelque chose (la tentation).

Caterina di Siena. Well, Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater" ain't exactly "gladness and mirth," but Jaroussky, Barath and Stutzman, certainly brings this heart close to Heaven. Alas, back to earth and work... THANK YOU TOTAL BAROQUE for this, and, your advertisers for not crashing in at the most sublime moments. They'd be my priorities...

Dès l'ouverture, une entrée du violoncelle fantastique. Le génie de Pergolèse. Et après, les voix... Tout cela soutenu par une orchestration sans faille et des belles voix. Merci. Et bien sûr je n'ai pas encore parlé des si belles prises de vue d'un décors unique.
Oui, les anges au dessus qui veillent appellent à toujours plus lever les yeux. Et quoi de plus humble que le Stabat Mater pour le faire... Cette œuvre est une ode à la Vie, à l'Espoir, à l'Amour, à la Foi. Cette œuvre est à mes yeux la plus précieuse que j'ai entendue jusqu'alors... Cet Amour Eternel qui traverse la douleur et se fait lumière. Que Pergolèse soit béni de nous avoir laissé cette oeuvre qui appelle nos âmes et nous plonge et nous submerge dans la Grâce Divine.
Bravo pour cette merveilleuse captation de son dans cette superbe chapelle de Fontainebleau... pour un spectacle et une ėcoute incomparables.... merci au trio Jarousky, Stutzmann et Barath, excellents tous.
En effet le lieux est idéal ! Je suis captivé par le jeu des interprètes. Le seul truc que je regrette, c'est de pas avoir été présent. Mais là on peu avoir une bonne impression.

The conductor is the great contralto, Nathalie Stutzmann! I was so sorry to hear she is not singing anymore in favor of conducting as I consider her one of the greatest contraltos of this century.

Dieu jouait encore à la belotte. Je l'ai alors initié aux échecs. Les siens. Nous avons bavardés, en compromis illusoires. Mon détracteur est sans voies, ni voix, n'existe pas. Aux rebonds des cordes, l'émotion est de passage, si grandiose. A exulter, à crier en alouettes flûtées, bondissantes sous joie.

I must have watched this a dozen times and it still takes my breath away. The piece is of course a masterpiece by a composer who, had he lived longer, would I believe have gone on to become one of the greats. All the performances are extraordinary, and the commitment to the heartbreaking emotions evoked by the subject of the text is very moving. I love Stutzmann and Jarrousky, but Emöke Barath... well, she's 'something else', isn't she? Surely a major star on the rise.
