This music is truly pure to the core. No one will ever know how truly this album has meant to me. I’ve had transition state from weighing 440 pounds, and over 2 years I’ve managed to get under 240. Not at my goal but guys I just thought to mention how much this music means to me, I’m 24 and yes I’m an American, from Texas. Everytime I would have a gloomy day or struggling with my inner state of being of being severe morbidly obese, & needed a constant reminder or further clarity of my goals. This music would be there for me. FYI: this album is on Apple Music by the way, Incase you guys had Apple Music. Andreas Scholl, I know this message may never reach you, but your talent has reached and extended to people whom you may never know.

He didn't make everything from scratch. His Gloria was a modified copy, and he reused many of his movements multiple times throughout his concerti. Nevertheless, he is still the greatest.

Some other word: this piece is so beutiful in melody and harmony that we can forget about his complex structure, this is one of the best example of baroque/classic religious hymn... third movement, particularily, is really and greatly moving. I usually go to bed and listen to Andreas as he sings Vivaldi's Stabat Mater - it is short but just perfect to settle down to sleep as it finishes. There are lots of recordings of the Stabat Mater, but after Andreas' version none will do. It is like Dame Janet Baker and Elgar's Sea Pictures. Thee is only one singer that embodies the text and singing. Many try, few succeed and none come close to Janet. I have the same issue with Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder its either Gundula or Soile !!
Every melody to render to Ste Mama Virgin Mary the devotion that she deserved is most welcomed. Vivaldi has so rightly composed this partition with its all loads of sentiments. It describe Mama Ste Virgin Mary,Mater of Mercy,she who's Immaculate Heart was pierced by a sword of pain. We are happy to have such a powerful Mother that intercede for us in heaven. I usually go to bed and listen to Andreas as he sings Vivaldi's Stabat Mater - it is short but just perfect to settle down to sleep as it finishes. There are lots of recordings of the Stabat Mater, but after Andreas' version none will do. It is like Dame Janet Baker and Elgar's Sea Pictures. Thee is only one singer that embodies the text and singing. Many try, few succeed and none come close to Janet. I have the same issue with Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder its either Gundula or Soile !!
May I suggest that you listen to the Italian Sara Mingardo, singing the same piece? She is a rare, true contralto, like the German Nathalie Sturzman
