In that video you set the grid lines to Golden Ratio but in this video you set it to Rule of 3?
@@faisal892 they have similar principles. The rule of thirds seems to be the more popular. I do like using the golden ratio if it’s available though

How is it that the pixel 5 has a much better camera than the pixel 7 pro?

Great video mate. Very helpful. Just got a pixel 7. I'm a semi-pro photographer but needed a camera that was handy at all times to take those shots that need you to be quick without faffing around with pro gear. I'm impressed with the camera on the pixel so far... especially the astro stuff... genius!

24:00 I picked up a 7 Pro on the weekend and my first test with the HDR video was impressive dynamic range *but* at the cost of really noisy footage in anything slightly shady/dark. Decided to turn it off as a result. Oh and I live in California, albeit was inside!
Great video. If only older Pixels (like the Pixel 5) had some of these features, like the white balance slider for example! Yes I know that ProShot and other apps can provide it, but it's a faff.
Camera gesture option for volume up and down, could be zoom in or out. That would be cool.
Note on using top shot. Top shot is automatically disabled when night sight is enabled. Example: The pixel detects a dark scene and switches to night sight thus disabling top shot

Great tutorial! Is there some sort of manual pro mode for the camera, if you wanted to take e.g. long exposure or night-mode pictures without the automatic features? And if so, what is the minimum ISO? I could only see the shutter speed in your video (max 6s). Thanks a lot!
As much as I love the Pixels, that's my one gripe, if you do want to tinker, you can't as much.
If you want quality automatic ✅ brilliant.
if you want quality automatic and extensive manual options in the native camera app ❌
I'm currently running a Pixel 4a, but a Samsung S20 Fe even has so many more options.
Coming from an LG V20 originally I'm conflicted between good simplicity and more utilitarian manual options.
I think I will be umming and arring between Sony, Samsung and Xiaomi for a while.

Great video! Another must change camera setting is "Save selfie as previewed" now when you take a selfie the photo reflects an identical image to what you see instead of the back to front distorted image you're use too.

Great tutorial thank you! I've always been a samsung owner but would like to try Pixel7pro. I understand the built in camera app of pixel doesn't allow full control on shutter speed, exposure and ISO, is it right? If so, does pixel allow this with any third party pro camera, and with all the 3 lenses?
Yes, please let us know, a bit disappointed that the manual controls don't show the shutter speed and white balance in kelvin for example
Under "Composition", I don't have the Auto Macro option. Do I have something not set up correctly? The 3 options more Macro Focus are in my quick settings menu though.
Really helpful, many thanks. I'm just finding my way around the P7P and can't find any way to manually disable the camera flash (essential for many museums and theatre performances). What am I missing??
To answer my own question in case it helps anyone else, it's the More Light quick setting. Clicking None disables the flash, but apparently the Night mode also prevents the flash from operating.
Great video, really liked the way you've shown everything. One thing I can't find is the 3D effect on Instagram post. I don't see any 3d effect option while creating an insta post. Does anyone know how to do that? Any help is highly appreciated. thanks.

Gestures have been reduced to only volume rocker, and no more double tap option. Double tap zooms, but I have no ability to change that to switching cameras

Just picked up a Pixel 7 Pro coming from a Huawei P30 Pro. Image quality seem to be better on the Pixel 7 Pro but the camera app and functionality on yhe P30 Pro was waaaaaay better. The Pro mode on the P30 Pro allowed me to set every setting like a DSLR. This camera app on the Pixel 7 Pro is very vanilla in comparison.
Exactly, I had the Mate 20 Pro and now I realize how ahead of its time it was, but it fell on the road while bike riding and didn't last much longer :(
5 days ago I got a replacement phone on my Pixel pro. 7. And since have been trying to take pictures of small images and it was constantly blurred until I watched your video. And the picture quality was coming in very poor so I haven't found a video for that yet. For some reason it's coming in very blurred. I'll figure it out. Thank you for sharing. 😃
