Did he have to write USMLE again?
No, he did not. Years ago, the ECFMg certificate was unlimited; now, you have 2 years. If not, you need to pay the pathway again, and to have the definitive ECFMg certification, you need 1 year of residency program.
What's a Sub-I??
A sub-internship is a hands-on experience in surgery; usually, it lasts one month, but it could be two. It's a rotation you must pay to get.
