Usama Syed, wow!! I've been following this guy for so long, he's an incredible talent.. But he's left Dermatologt practice in NYC and is doing some NFT stuff, crazy right!!
Excellent interview. Amazing tenacity. The most impressive is how he strategized with solid back up plan. Very good mngmt skills too. Congrats And thanks to the host for bringing in such a talent. 😊
DR Manik Madaan, you are good speaker with great communication skills, try to arrange interviews with Business drs, lots of stories, DRS are running great business.
Its been amazing you ask all questions which an IMG is really worried about and all the queries about publications and research fellowships and which got the better of it was really informative. Thanks and keep trying to help IMGS❤️
Thanks for the video but everyone aware that he is not a typical IMG right ? he is from UK. Unfortunately it is a huge difference and gives an edge for sure
I'm watching your videos since last year & it gradually enlightened the dream of becoming a usa doctor. But unfortunately i failed to get admitted into govt. medical college for 2 marks. Hope I can make it next year & after mbbs i'll try for usmle
Can someone explain what he means at the end where it’s a bad idea to do IM and then another specialty? What does it mean that you lose a year of your funding?
Would like a similar video on a doctor from India/Pakistan/Bangladesh matching into such competitive programs. Appreciate this video but Dr Usama has been practising in the UK, and there is a certain gap between doctors who are in South Asia and doctors from 1st world countries applying to the USA.
@@gknkrnkjgjugjrgjrng The point the original commenter is trying to make is that Dr Usama did his med school in the UK not that his name sounds like a Pakistani's
@dr usama syed had released a video 2021 saying he was quitting dermatology for blockchain. There he had mentioned he didnt completely quit but reduced the work time to one day per week. Now i want to know is he is still working as an attending fulltime or one day per week in new york ???
he accepted the interview at Cleveland but didnt go? that's very disrespectful and rude. he could have canceled it and a more deserving applicant could have gotten the spot.
is it better to apply for and do sugery-prelims for 1-2 years or is it better to apply for and do 1-2 years of unpaid/paid postdoctoral research fellowships and then apply to for competitive specialities such as plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery?

Because you have indian mentality, high scores doesn't mean just go to surgery there is a thing known as interest which indians never understand, we only see scope and salaries
Lots of unhelpful replies here. Don’t let them put you down if that’s your goal and there’s nothing wrong with asking about compensation. The average is around 500,000 with great work life balance. Check out MGMA salary data for accurate values.
No Indian Medical Graduate will EVER match into Derm or Plastics 😂 You guys will only match IM and FM and work in the rural boonies for decades. If you’re lucky, you’ll get the leftover scraps of fellowships and become a General Cardiologist or a rheumatologist or Heme Onc or Hospitalist. Specialities no one wants. 😂
This guy isn’t even a proper IMG. UK and Canada Docs are technically IMGs but they are looked at as functionally equivalent to US grads in many ways. Indians will never be looked at in the same light 😂

Great video,
One more doubt is it easy for an NON-US IMG to get into cardiology after internal medicine?
No more step 1 score any more . That means one of the only few opportunities to shine as an IMG goes away
And they say people with islamic names have tough situation in residency matching. And here we have osama 😅😅
How much score you got in neet ug bro
Sir how much do a dermatologist earns in USA? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
