Two mysteries! And you admit that you enjoyed them!! Alice would be so proud - lol. Glad you had a good reading month!! I read 11 books in September. I started Pillars by Follett and may not finish for several more weeks 🙃. Looonnnngg books are not my favorites... My best reads for the month were The House In The Cerulean Sea by Klune and The Searcher by French. I did DNF the Philyaw book after a few pages - not my cup of tea. I've just started Red Sister by Mark Lawrence, the first of The Book of the Ancestor series. I'm loving it!!🦁
Alice would be proud (and shocked!) 😂🥰 Pillars and Red Sister are both on my TBR - sounds like I should be bumping Red Sister up on my priorities! I’m reading the sequel to Cerulean Sea at the moment, super cute 🥰
Loved The Secret Lives of Church Ladies too. Can’t hear about roaring without thinking of Andy and our liveshow 😂😂 🦁🦁😉 Glad Sept was a good reading month ❤️
Great video. loved hearing about Tony Birch. Plan on adding him to my TBR soon. Love so many Australian reads. Think my favorite is The Rain Herron by Arnott. Favorite book in September was a re-read on audio of Transit of Venus by Shirley Hazzard. I read the print last year but reviewed this new release of the book for the first time in audio read by Juliet Stevenson. It is a gem and brings so much life and beauty to this great book. Hazzard has always been a favorite Australian author as well.
Awesome round up - I liked Women and Power. I'm way behind of Saga, having only just started reading it so only 3 books in, but really like it. I've had Little Rot on my radar, and need to find it....sounds intriguing.
You read some good books there Gemma. I didn’t like So Late in the Day as much as Small Things Like These and Foster. Looking forward to reading And So I Roar😊
Those are the same 2 Claire Keegan books that I’ve read, and I would agree, I think Foster was my favourite of the 3. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on So I Roar when you get to it matey 🧡
Wow sounds like a top notch reading month. I only read two books in September, but they were both good 4+ stars: In the dream house by Carmen Maria Machado and Small worlds by Caleb Azuma Nelson. I would recommend both
My best books of September Highway Thirteen by Fiona McFarlane The English Understand Wool ( great short book) Abide With Me , The Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout 🦁
I keep putting off Saga 11 because then I won't have any left 😊. Unfortunately I guessed the murderer in the Agatha Chrstie so I didn't enjoy it as much but it's cool seeing her pave the way for other crime writers. I picked up And So I Roar but was in the wrong headspace and DNFed but I hope to pick it up in the future.
I had put off volume 11 for a while, but finally caved 😂 not too long to wait for the next one though 🤩 I hope you enjoy And So I Roar when you get back to it!! 🧡
We have the same favourite book for the month of September! I’ll be reading anything Abi Daré publishes going forward! Also, unrelated to this video but if Somewhere Beyond the Sea is your pick for Hot or Not, the acknowledgements, at least the first two pages, are worth a read. They made me love the book and the author even more than I already did
Yay for Abi Dare!! I am part way through Somewhere Beyond the Sea. I’m audioing it, but the narrator read the acknowledgments at the beginning 🥰 How are you finding it? At this point I think I would like to adopt Chauncy 🧡
I feel exactly the same way about Claire Keegan. I feel I'm missing something, maybe it's over my head. It just seems simple and I'm not sure why all the hype.

Roar Ro 🧡🧡😂🦁🦁🦁
This was great, Tony Birch and Abi Dare taking the top two spots! So satisfying watching you love on those amazing books.
Such amazing books!! We are 100% aligned on these 😄
I also expected so much more from Siddhartha. And So I Roar is going on my TBR right now!
Yes Hannah!! And So I Roar definitely needs to be on your TBR!! 🦁
Great reading month. More five stars than I’ve had all year. Some of these are on my TBR so I’m glad I have some good reads to look forward to. 😊💙
No way!! You need some better books in your life!!
Thanks for putting Tony Birch on my radar! And man, I need to get to Abi Daré’s books. Glad you had a great reading month.
Yes to Birch and Daré!! You won’t regret either 🤩
what a lovely wrap up ♥️ I’m so tempted to try the Expanse series, I loved the TV show so much! 🦁
Defo give it a go matey!!

Oooo - ok, adding the Shirley Hazzard immediately to my TBR, thanks for the rec matey!!
I really want to read and so I roar. It sounds and I loved the first book 😊 🦁
You will love it!! 🧡🦁

I’m quite jealous that you still have so much Saga still to go 😂
Definitely give Little Rot a go!!
We don’t disagree that often!!! You just take no prisoners and I’m like ‘hmm it’s ok I can see why someone might like it’ 😂
You may have a point there 😂😂😂 I’m not very good at rolling turds in glitter 😆

My best books of September

Not Elizabeth Strout! 😱 she’s my mortal enemy 😂😂

@@GemofBooks I loved it and would also adopt that little aspiring bellhop in a heartbeat!
🦁🦁🦁❤❤❤
🦁🧡🦁🧡
🦁 But I have not read this. Just added some Tony Birch to my TBR on my Libby App. Thanks!
Yes!! Tony Birch deserves so much more love 🧡🦁

Right?! I’m intrigued about the new film coming out though, I’m guessing they’ve bulked out the plot somewhat, or it will be a very short film 😂😂
