When hearing Yang call Adam's semblance cheap, I immediately thought of Ren's lesson on how a person's personality is paralleled with their Semblance. Yang and Adam might have similar semblances, but their differences show in their personalities - Yang feels every hardship, ever blow, and uses it to grow stronger and reach new heights as a person, while petty, spiteful Adam maintains an arrogant distance from everyone and uses that distance to keep himself safe, all the while feeding his bitterness and anger with everything he doesn't give a chance to touch him.
It's why I believe that Adam's Semblance is finite, and therefore cannot win against Yang. Yang lets her experiences make her stronger. Adam only has enough fuel as he can grab.

You can sympathize with someone without forgiving their evil actions. Adam is a tragic character because he has such a potential to do good but his anger and narcissistic personality is a bad combination that will get him killed if he doesn't change.
It makes me understand how he ended up on the path he did, but he's never really shown any remorse for anything he's done. I guess his character really is that monsters can be born for the monstrous actions of others, but it really doesn't excuse him, because there are plenty of others who have been through similar trauma that don't act like Adam, or at least try to redeem themselves.
@@kellyxiaomedia It's true. However terrible his past is, Adam could have chosen to rise above it all. It would have been hard, but it would have made Adam an especially interesting character. But there it is, Adam can't rise above his past.

I never said his past excused his behavior! Where in my statement do you see that? Sympathizing isn't excusing. The two concepts are NOT joined at the hip.
EDIT: Okay now I understand the confusion. I looked up sympathize, and found out there are a couple different definitions of sympathize.
1) to feel sorry for or to show compassion. A show of concern. (Which is what I was going for).
2) agree with a sentiment or opinion..to support. (Which I was not going for).
I am sorry for my ignorance of the latter definition of the term. I in no way feel that Adam's actions are excusable because of his past. In real life there are tragic examples of children being abused and they grow up to abuse their children... A perpetual circle of violence that some of the victims decide to stop ( I don't know if David Pelzer's autobiographical books about the abuse he endured at the hands of his alcoholic mother are available in Scotland, but he has some good insight on that subject). Yes, if Adam would have shown remorse for his behavior, then he would be redeemable. However he didn't, and therein lay the tragedy. He could not break free of the anger, rage and hate, so died the way he lived.
What cracks me up are Bmblb denialists who persist in their denial after this episode....I mean shit, *ADAM* believes Bmblb is a thing, that's partly why he's so vicious here...
100% Adam sees Yang as a romantic rival, someone who has stole Blake. You can clearly see how much more aggressively he goes at Yang than at Blake in this episode and the next. He completely loses his cool when it comes to fighting Yang.
I don't really care if it fully happens or not I could go either way on bumbleb but I'm gonnas die laughing if bumbleb doesn't happen AND Adam lives because that would be miles and Kerrys biggest troll ever
He deadass looked at them both, is mouth opened up a bit, then tried to murder Yang. Come on now lmao.

As much of a utter shitbag he is, Adam has been the most woke about Bumbleby since the very beginning honestly. I fucking hate him, but he's given most of the romantic validation in the show

Now that was a hell of an episode.
- Adam clearly showing his abuser piece of garbage self with that "behave" part. Following that he mirrors certain people within the viewership that call Blake "selfish" and a "coward", which I have to wonder if it isn't a call out specifically towards them. Also I see his brand reveal as in the same as Cordovin's bigotry towards Blake, namely going towards a racism/discrimination/prejudice (many terms for this disgusting thing) secondary arc in Atlas.
- Blake being a total badass and ngl I love jacketless Blake, though I definitely look forward to her inevitable new outfit in the future.
- RIP Bumblebee (the motorcycle that was sacrificed but will be carried on via Bumbleby). I legit didn't think they'd bring that meme of hitting Adam with the bike into canon, but love them so much for doing it xD
- I can't wait to see Gambol's reforged form. Especially since someone mentioned a post from Monty way back when talking about it when responding to someone nitpicking the realism of its design and essentially saying how its upgraded form would be even more unrealistic.
- Yang going to toe to toe with Adam via brawler/boxer skills is just great. Something I realized after rewatching the episode (as well as getting aggravated with certain people on social) is that the whole "Yang's PTSD means nothing" argument is actually debunked via her hand shaking before Blake grabbing it. That along with Yang's trailer quote goes towards her, as usual with her and negative emotions, burying her fear and focusing on the fight.
- Also its a small note but I love them bringing into canon the contrast/comparing Adam and Yang's semblances; once again they're being put as foils. Not to mention the bigger note of Adam going into jealous rage mode at BB staring at each other.
I was so proud of Yang. She used her head, not just her brawn. As soon as she learned of Adam's semblance she adjusted her fighting style to full effect. And that ending where Blake held Yang's hand, well I just cried in joy :)

you're not wrong, but it was only charged up with one of Yang's punches. A punch that wasn't fueled by her semblance and went wide like a wave instead of a slash so maybe that's why it was easily blocked. Also Yang's aura is full so there's that

@@sapheyersoftsounds7693 I think it's like Yang's in that it's a powerful shot but once it's gone it's spent, but because it's not his body taking damage like she does and it isn't physical strength like her's it doesn't seem to exhaust him like her's but it's a weird semblance and there's not real confirmation on that.

It's a common myth that with one eye you don't have depth perception, but it actually only removes one type of depth perception (stereoscopic). You can still perceive the distance to an object of known size with one eye, that's why sniper rifles don't need two scopes.
Bumblebee is still a possibility, but I would not read into any of the Yang/Blake scene too much. It seems like this whole Volume concerning Yang and Blake has been about the two of them getting back on the same page again as clearly their friendship had been strained by the whole Volume 3 incident. They spent 2 arcs on Blake and Son, and now they will probably spend a few arcs on Blake and Yang. I think what we saw here shows that Blake finally understands that Yang is not her responsibility and that she doesn't need to look after her for what happened at the fall of Beacon, weather romance blossoms down the road is yet to be seen, but I would guess until we see Son again they won't lock down on either Bumblebee or Eclipse.

Honestly I do love Black Sun more but I wouldn’t be pissed if Bumblebee happened. It’s really obvious that something is there for both ships. I do believe that there might not be as many interactions with Blake and Yang since Adam is gone but then again Sun is with his team now so we don’t have much Black Sun either. So I like booths ships plz no hate T-T

it might be just me, but I dont see Yang and Blake as a relationship, but more like sisters.
Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but there are strong hints - even from the voiceactors - that Yang and Blake are going to be a thing. You'd be put in the minority of people who sees them as sisters.
I do ship them, but I can understand why you might not. Regardless of whether it happens or not, I hope we're both happy with the results. Blake and Yang have such a good relationship and, no matter how it gets interpreted, it's great to see them working together.
I usually go by the evidence that's been shown already. Im not saying they wont, but as of this moment, we already know Yang and Blake are into boys (Yang: Volume 1 Episode 2 and even in Chibi shows she ways into hunky guys. Blake: We know from her discussion with Sun that her and Adam used to be a couple, and now she even shows signs of liking Sun the same way. All im saying is that they would be the first Bisexual pair in the series if they were to become more than just friends.

ISAFMobius18 Yes. That's how they are supposed to be. Team RWBY is a Sisterhood. As said by Monty during a Director's Commentary from Volume 2. If Bumblebee happens. It's potential disaster. And there are so many people unaware of it.
Given the actions in the V6 short, I'm pretty sure Adam's attitude was egged-on by Sienna (for those who sympathize with her "back"stabbing). He's still a dick, but it could have been less--and maybe even redeemable.
