In order for Adam to return he has to survive all of this: 1. His aura was depleted so he cannot heal 2. He was stabbed through the chest (which contains the heart and lungs, both are generally important to living) twice 3. He fell off a cliff 4. On the way down he hits some rocks, creating an audible crunching sound, and then continued to fall 5. He hit the water (water is not a cushion), in a manner that would most certainly result in further injury 6. Assuming he somehow survived all of that, Adam now has to survive from freezing and/or drowning to death on top of his other injuries, without an aura to heal 7. Speaking of drowning, some people might explain away Adam’s survival by saying that he is just hiding underwater, which assumes that he somehow survived everything mentioned above and managed to catch and hold his breath, here’s the problem with that: the two gaping holes in his chest, Adam would be drowning not by water filling his throat, but by water directly filling his heart and lungs via the holes puncturing all the way through his chest to his back, in order to prevent himself from drowning Adam would need to cover/seal these holes, which is would be difficult to do because A. there are two holes on both sides of his body, so four in total, Adam would need four hands to cover them, B. he would need to cover the holes before he goes underwater (he did not), C. Adam was losing consciousness when he went over the cliff, it's entirely possible that he was dead before he even hit the rocks, D. if Adam somehow managed to cover all of the holes then he would have to swim in a raging current with only his legs, and the water is still freezing, so I'd say is pretty beyond dead, this is not like Cinder, Adam does not have any godlike powers,
That one statement “I’m not gonna break my promise, I swear” has definitely made Yang understand Blake more. The fight even gave Yang knowledge about how Adam was like towards Blake in the past. They still need to talk to fully sort things out but this was a step closer for them. :3
Watching your reaction, when Yang said she was smarter and then through away Adam's sword, I remembered something Cinder said: "Its not about overpowering the enemy. Its about taking away what power they have!"

well in real life you don't usually see people destroy cannons by shooting down the barrel (mostly because giant cannons are extremely impractical so no one ever has to), but it is a logically sound way to destroy the cannon, larger barrel means a larger potential target, especially at close range, essentially its not to different from just plugging a barrel closed, but in this case you detonate the ammunition before its launched, rather than trapping the ammunition and explosive force in an enclosed space
Double penetrated by Bumblebee, What a way to go. Killing Adam really was the only thing they could've done. He was never gonna stop trying to kill them both and they're really wasn't anything else they could've done with his character. Best thing to do was send him on his way after an excellent fight scene and they delivered.

granted cordovin made the choice to break out their leviathen busting Grim on a bunch of teenagers an old lady and an adult huntsmen but Jaune even said that the mech was likely used to fight off giant grim from the ocean..... Even if they defeated her before the grim showed up they'd of been leaving the town and jaune's sister to die being that the grim would of been attracted by the negativity of the citizens being freaked out from hearing and feeling explosions near town the relic would of been attracting grim the entire time they were chilling in town. Team jnpr and rwby screwed up pretty bad. Town is defenseless now. Also weird that blake gets like.... 4 romantic interests, yang, sun, adam, and illia like jesus.
Well getting the relic to a safe place, Atlas, is kind of top priority to stop Salem from dooming the entire planet to extinction via 'divine' judgement. So they absolutely HAVE to get to Atlas, and stealing an airship would have facilitated that. It's entirely Cordovins fault that the grimm busting mech was the thing at risk as opposed to a bunch of regular airships, not theirs, so blaming teams JNPR and RWBY for having to destroy the mech in order to save their own lives is kind of blaming the building for the arsonist. Plus, even if they had surrendered, there's no guarantee that the military base, or even a military escort would have been able to safely handle the relic. From a narrative standpoint random soldiers don't have plot armor that main characters do, and from an in character perspective would YOU trust these bumblefucks with something as important as the relic? Miss-bust-out-a-mech-for-no-reason and the two bookends?

She gets back to Atlas and then just knocks the two escorts out once they make it to Atlas soil, maybe sneaking the person who can literally turn into a bird in her luggage for an added body guard then heading to the base where he's stationed

Even if they did, does she seem like the type of person who'd hear him out? As for sending Weiss alone/with a single friend that was addressed earlier. She had serious reservations about going back to Atlas, even with her friends there. They even promised that they'd stick together. Unless you'd like them to break their promise. There'd also most likely be her father waiting for her, along with an entire army of hired forces waiting to subdue her. I dare you to tell me he wouldn't. Granted they could have tried sending a message along, waiting a couple of weeks and not hearing back, as the messenger was destroyed by grimm, only to be set upon by Cinder and Neo. If they were barely able to chase the two off then time would be of the essence and there'd be a justifiable reason to do something like steal the airship. They can't risk a round two, and trying to contact Ironwood wouldn't work. That would still leave them in this situation however.

Killing in Self-Defense In RWBY, at the penultimate finale of Volume 6, Blake and Yang kill Adam by impaling him through with the fractured shards of Gambol Shroud. Adam had previously vowed to destroy everyone and everything Blake loved as retaliation for "ruining his life", inflicted grave wounds on both her and Yang, and had stalked Blake across a continent to interfere with her: it's very clear he would never have stopped hunting the girls as long as he was alive, so their killing him is not presented in any unheroic way.
RT better not gloss over the fact that Blake and Yang just killed a person, a very horrible person that would keep trying to kill them if they hadn't killed him first. There better be some scenes of them dealing with that because unless you're wrong in the head that will mess with you. One of the things they should do is talk to Maria or Qrow about what they did.

I need to have this question answered, was Sun Wukong necessary in Volume 5 because he was chasing Blake and teasing a Blacksun ship? Could the writers wrote a story arc with Blake alone to solve the White Fang problem?
I think Suns thing in volume 5 made a lot more sense, he was there as a friend, helping Blake to trust again and not try and do everything alone. Ultimately he helped her reunite with her team which has helped her immensely and I only want the best for him. I would love for him to have more do do outwith Blakes development going forward.
It depends on which direction they want to with Blake's relationship. Sun and her have a lot more instances of a possible relationship than Yang does, but neither of them have actually gotten past the friend zone in any meaningful way. The ground work has been set for both, so either option is possible, but it is also possible Blake doesn't get in a romantic relationship with either.

So a beaten to the point of depowered(remember she didn't even try to fly or keep going, she just let herself fall so she was clearly out of juice) somehow survived without the ability to breath for however long it took for her to thaw from being completely frozen into an icecube. For me personally I felt like this season started strong and ended on a sour note. I am in the camp Adam is not completely dead and I hope if he does come back he stops being a little bitch....and you know a threat again. Not going to touch the whole bumblebee situation because I have given up on anything to do with shipping wars and the like. The biggest things I want addressed in the next volume is 1 Yang and Blake literally killing a person! Like jesus, that should fuck them up...they are kids after all. Second, the "heroes" not getting off easy for breaking the law....even if its resolved, I want there to be consequences for actions.
I think the biggest problem I have with Blake and Yang killing Adam, is that it proves Adam right. The WHOLE REASON that Adam was a villain in this show because he thought the "ends justify the means." If we(Faunus) are the ones in danger, if they FORCE OUR HAND, then it's okay to reciprocate this violence. It's okay to kill humans, if it gets us what we want, if it produces results, they were the original aggressors. Blake and Yang, our heroes, instead of doing what heroes do, showing him a better way, leading by example, displaying the right way, the moral way to do things STOOP TO HIS LEVEL. They fucking murdered the guy, because HE was the original aggressor, he FORCED THEIR HAND. If the killing Adam did in the past made him a villain, then this killing makes Blake and Yang villains too.
Except Adam was given multiple chances to leave in this fight by both Blake and Yang? Do you think Adam offered the same to any of the people he killed? To call Blake and Yang villains for defending themselves is insane. Adam could have ran away after he lost his sword, but he didn't, he was intent on killing them both and never would have stopped. He'd followed them across a continent. How many times were they supposed to show him mercy?
They did not stoop to his level, if they hadn't killed him he would have kept coming after them even after Blake and Yang gave him a chance to leave them alone

In a story the struggle between our protagonists and antagonists is not only physical, but ideological as well. If the examination of Adam's character was showing how NOT to respond to oppression and abuse,(i.e. with violence and extremism) then the key to his defeat should be in how our protagonists access the moral ground and action that he couldn't(non-violent resistance). Was it not Blake's ideological stance about the White Fang after her family was attacked that the way to truly resist abuse is with peace/non-violence? This salient philosophical difference should have been the thing that truly brought victory for our protagonists over the flawed antagonist. That's the purpose of the juxtaposition of the two. In other words, it doesn't matter that he was never going to stop, you as the hero should be just as tenacious in your adherence to the correct principle as he is to the flawed one. However monstrous Adam was(and yes, he was monstrous), he had a right to due process for his crimes. Perhaps I was too hasty to say that this makes Blake and Yang villainous, but it's certainly a step backward. The pressure he as an antagonist should have brought to their character should have crystallized into how they are better than him, how they flat out refuse to resort to the violence that has made him so monstrous. Once again, the physical victory is less important than the ideological victory Adam won by them doing this. Metaphorically, if Adam is the world, and Blake and Yang the Faunus, then He was right all along, there was no other way to stop abuse OTHER than violence, than killing. P.S. - Love your content, and I'm glad we can have discussions about the show here

I totally understand that what happened was morally very dark, and I would have loved for Blake and Yang to have been able to take care of him non lethally, or for Adam to have ended his own life by mistake. What I do appreciate is that it wasn't portrayed as this great victory, that the path to their goals isn't an easy one and that sometimes they will be forced to do things that go against everything they stand for. Blakes reaction after Adam fell was very telling that she took no pleasure in what she'd done or in the person Adam had become. I appreciate the writer's for presenting the audience with some good moral conflict, that the real world truly isn't a fairytale.

Team jnpr and rwby screwed up pretty bad. Town is defenseless now. Also weird that blake gets like.... 4 romantic interests, yang, sun, adam, and illia like jesus.
Well getting the relic to a safe place, Atlas, is kind of top priority to stop Salem from dooming the entire planet to extinction via 'divine' judgement. So they absolutely HAVE to get to Atlas, and stealing an airship would have facilitated that.
It's entirely Cordovins fault that the grimm busting mech was the thing at risk as opposed to a bunch of regular airships, not theirs, so blaming teams JNPR and RWBY for having to destroy the mech in order to save their own lives is kind of blaming the building for the arsonist.
Plus, even if they had surrendered, there's no guarantee that the military base, or even a military escort would have been able to safely handle the relic. From a narrative standpoint random soldiers don't have plot armor that main characters do, and from an in character perspective would YOU trust these bumblefucks with something as important as the relic? Miss-bust-out-a-mech-for-no-reason and the two bookends?

Crow has been a friend/associate of General ironwood for many many years. Your telling me he isn't privy to info that only close friends of the general would know to prove to the Atlas military that he knows him personally? Or easier work around, they wanted the relic to get to ironwood/Atlas. How bout you take Cordovin's offer of escorting Ms Schnee back home and strap the relic to Weiss's hip. She gets back to Atlas and then just knocks the two escorts out once they make it to Atlas soil, maybe sneaking the person who can literally turn into a bird in her luggage for an added body guard then heading to the base where he's stationed
@@alexiushendrickson7509 Well Qrow spent much of his time out in the field away from the others, so saying that he'd have info on Ironwood that only a friend would is speculation. Even if they did, does she seem like the type of person who'd hear him out?
As for sending Weiss alone/with a single friend that was addressed earlier. She had serious reservations about going back to Atlas, even with her friends there. They even promised that they'd stick together. Unless you'd like them to break their promise.
There'd also most likely be her father waiting for her, along with an entire army of hired forces waiting to subdue her. I dare you to tell me he wouldn't.
Granted they could have tried sending a message along, waiting a couple of weeks and not hearing back, as the messenger was destroyed by grimm, only to be set upon by Cinder and Neo. If they were barely able to chase the two off then time would be of the essence and there'd be a justifiable reason to do something like steal the airship. They can't risk a round two, and trying to contact Ironwood wouldn't work.
That would still leave them in this situation however.

So asking Weiss to step a bit out of her comfort zone isn't asking for a lot when the alternatice is everyone dying. If they can destroy a mech that protects a town from grim they can momentarily break a promise. No one said they needed to go to the actual location where her dad would be waiting, 2 episodes ago they beat up and took over the plane a couple of minutes after getting outta range of their scanners. They just had to lie and bs about going to that destination then just change course long before they land and head straight to ironwood.
Also the worlds not in immediate danger as of yet since Salem has still yet to acquire a single relic if i'm not mistaken. Shes been searching for the beacon one for 3 seasons and still hasn't found it and the world will only go boom after all of them are gathered in the same room. Point is there were many ways to write in a way to Atlas that would make more sense then what we got is all i'm saying

Killing in Self-Defense
In RWBY, at the penultimate finale of Volume 6, Blake and Yang kill Adam by impaling him through with the fractured shards of Gambol Shroud. Adam had previously vowed to destroy everyone and everything Blake loved as retaliation for "ruining his life", inflicted grave wounds on both her and Yang, and had stalked Blake across a continent to interfere with her: it's very clear he would never have stopped hunting the girls as long as he was alive, so their killing him is not presented in any unheroic way.

I need to have this question answered, was Sun Wukong necessary in Volume 5 because he was chasing Blake and teasing a Blacksun ship? Could the writers wrote a story arc with Blake alone to solve the White Fang problem?
I think his role was to be her friend and not having her alone.
I think Suns thing in volume 5 made a lot more sense, he was there as a friend, helping Blake to trust again and not try and do everything alone.
Ultimately he helped her reunite with her team which has helped her immensely and I only want the best for him. I would love for him to have more do do outwith Blakes development going forward.

It depends on which direction they want to with Blake's relationship. Sun and her have a lot more instances of a possible relationship than Yang does, but neither of them have actually gotten past the friend zone in any meaningful way. The ground work has been set for both, so either option is possible, but it is also possible Blake doesn't get in a romantic relationship with either.

he has to survive all of this:
1. His aura was depleted so he cannot heal
2. He was stabbed through the chest (which contains the heart and lungs, both are generally important to living) twice
3. He fell off a cliff
4. On the way down he hits some rocks, creating an audible crunching sound, and then continued to fall
5. He hit the water (water is not a cushion), in a manner that would most certainly result in further injury
6. Assuming he somehow survived all of that, Adam now has to survive from freezing and/or drowning to death on top of his other injuries, without an aura to heal
7. Speaking of drowning, some people might explain away Adam’s survival by saying that he is just hiding underwater, which assumes that he somehow survived everything mentioned above and managed to catch and hold his breath, here’s the problem with that: the two gaping holes in his chest, Adam would be drowning not by water filling his throat, but by water directly filling his heart and lungs via the holes puncturing all the way through his chest to his back, in order to prevent himself from drowning Adam would need to cover/seal these holes, which is would be difficult to do because A. there are two holes on both sides of his body, so four in total, Adam would need four hands to cover them, B. he would need to cover the holes before he goes underwater (he did not), C. Adam was losing consciousness when he went over the cliff, it's entirely possible that he was dead before he even hit the rocks, D. if Adam somehow managed to cover all of the holes then he would have to swim in a raging current with only his legs, and the water is still freezing,
so I'd say is pretty beyond dead, this is not like Cinder, Adam does not have any godlike powers,

So a beaten to the point of depowered(remember she didn't even try to fly or keep going, she just let herself fall so she was clearly out of juice) somehow survived without the ability to breath for however long it took for her to thaw from being completely frozen into an icecube. She was then floating unconscious under the water for who knows how long. Without the use of 'godlike powers'.

For me personally I felt like this season started strong and ended on a sour note. I am in the camp Adam is not completely dead and I hope if he does come back he stops being a little bitch....and you know a threat again. Not going to touch the whole bumblebee situation because I have given up on anything to do with shipping wars and the like. The biggest things I want addressed in the next volume is 1 Yang and Blake literally killing a person! Like jesus, that should fuck them up...they are kids after all. Second, the "heroes" not getting off easy for breaking the law....even if its resolved, I want there to be consequences for actions.

I think the biggest problem I have with Blake and Yang killing Adam, is that it proves Adam right. The WHOLE REASON that Adam was a villain in this show because he thought the "ends justify the means." If we(Faunus) are the ones in danger, if they FORCE OUR HAND, then it's okay to reciprocate this violence. It's okay to kill humans, if it gets us what we want, if it produces results, they were the original aggressors. Blake and Yang, our heroes, instead of doing what heroes do, showing him a better way, leading by example, displaying the right way, the moral way to do things STOOP TO HIS LEVEL. They fucking murdered the guy, because HE was the original aggressor, he FORCED THEIR HAND. If the killing Adam did in the past made him a villain, then this killing makes Blake and Yang villains too.
Except Adam was given multiple chances to leave in this fight by both Blake and Yang? Do you think Adam offered the same to any of the people he killed?
To call Blake and Yang villains for defending themselves is insane. Adam could have ran away after he lost his sword, but he didn't, he was intent on killing them both and never would have stopped. He'd followed them across a continent. How many times were they supposed to show him mercy?
They did not stoop to his level, if they hadn't killed him he would have kept coming after them even after Blake and Yang gave him a chance to leave them alone

Yes, I do agree that I don't believe Adam would have stopped, but therein lies the subtlety of why I think it's a problem. In a story the struggle between our protagonists and antagonists is not only physical, but ideological as well. If the examination of Adam's character was showing how NOT to respond to oppression and abuse,(i.e. with violence and extremism) then the key to his defeat should be in how our protagonists access the moral ground and action that he couldn't(non-violent resistance). Was it not Blake's ideological stance about the White Fang after her family was attacked that the way to truly resist abuse is with peace/non-violence? This salient philosophical difference should have been the thing that truly brought victory for our protagonists over the flawed antagonist. That's the purpose of the juxtaposition of the two. In other words, it doesn't matter that he was never going to stop, you as the hero should be just as tenacious in your adherence to the correct principle as he is to the flawed one. However monstrous Adam was(and yes, he was monstrous), he had a right to due process for his crimes. Perhaps I was too hasty to say that this makes Blake and Yang villainous, but it's certainly a step backward. The pressure he as an antagonist should have brought to their character should have crystallized into how they are better than him, how they flat out refuse to resort to the violence that has made him so monstrous. Once again, the physical victory is less important than the ideological victory Adam won by them doing this. Metaphorically, if Adam is the world, and Blake and Yang the Faunus, then He was right all along, there was no other way to stop abuse OTHER than violence, than killing.

@@aquietplace5555 yeah it's good to have discussions about morality in the show, one that doesn't dismiss how heinous Adam has been up until now.
I totally understand that what happened was morally very dark, and I would have loved for Blake and Yang to have been able to take care of him non lethally, or for Adam to have ended his own life by mistake.
What I do appreciate is that it wasn't portrayed as this great victory, that the path to their goals isn't an easy one and that sometimes they will be forced to do things that go against everything they stand for. Blakes reaction after Adam fell was very telling that she took no pleasure in what she'd done or in the person Adam had become.
I appreciate the writer's for presenting the audience with some good moral conflict, that the real world truly isn't a fairytale.
